Abstract

Se describe una composición y método para tratar disregulación adrenérgica administrando la composición, en donde la composición comprende un agonista de receptor a2-adrenérgico; una matriz hidrofílica farmacéuticamente aceptable y un retardador de liberación de un alquilsulfato de metal; en las modalidades, la composición provee una liberación sostenida del agonista, en donde después de la administración de la composición, no más de una vez aproximadamente cada 12 horas a un sujeto que tiene una concentración en plasma en estado estable del agonista de receptor a2- adrenérgico, la relación de máximo a mínimo de la concentración del agonista en plasma es no mayor de aproximadamente 1.9.
