Abstract
Se proporcionan una fuente de energía y reactor de hidruros que comprende una celda de reacción para la catálisis de hidrógeno atómico a partir de nuevas especies de hidrógeno y composiciones de materia que comprenden nuevas formas de hidrógeno, una fuente de hidrógeno atómico, una fuente de catalizador de hidrógeno que comprende una mezcla de reacción de al menos un reactivo que comprende el elemento o elementos que forman el catalizador y al menos un otro elemento, de lo cual se forma el catalizador a partir de la fuente y la catálisis de hidrógeno atómico libera energía en una cantidad mayor de aproximadamente 300 kJ por mol de hidrógeno durante la catálisis del átomo de hidrógeno. Además se proporciona un reactor en donde la mezcla de reacción comprende un catalizador o una fuente de catalizador e hidrógeno atómico o una fuente de hidrógeno atómico (H), en donde al menos uno del catalizador o el hidrógeno atómico es liberado mediante una reacción química de al menos una especie de la mezcla de reacción o entre dos o más especies de la mezcla de reacción. En una modalidad, la especie puede ser al menos uno de un elemento, complejo, aleación o compuesto tal como un compuesto molecular o inorgánico, en donde cada uno puede ser al menos uno de un reagente o producto en el reactor. Alternativamente, la especie puede formar un complejo, aleación o compuesto con al menos uno de hidrógeno o el catalizador. De preferencia, la reacción para generar al menos uno del H atómico o el catalizador es reversible.
