Abstract

Los presentes principios proporcionan una forma para colocar una imagen de escala de grises de múltiples niveles, visible a simple vista en el área de datos de un disco óptico. Esta característica se puede utilizar para autenticar un disco legítimo, ya que las características de imagen se pierden cuando se copia un disco, ya sea con un accionador de grabación de PC o por un pirata que crea un juego de datos a ser utilizados en una grabadora de rayo láser para producir discos ROM falsificados. Las reglas de modulación se varían en forma selectiva durante la escrita de disco, en una forma para cambiar la distribución de las longitudes de cresta/valle, para que se generen por lo menos tres (3) diferentes propiedades de difracción, y por lo tanto se produzcan por lo menos tres (3) diferentes vistas a simple vista.
