The invention refers to medicine, namely to the infectious diseases.Summary of the invention consists in that treatment of acute viral hepatitis C includes the symptomatic therapy and additional administration of the immunomodulatory and antiviral remedy 5α-furostan-3β,22,26-triol-3[O-β- galactopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl)(1→4)-β-D-galactopyranosyl]-26-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (pacovirin) during 10 days, beginning with the first day of clinical manifestation or hospitalization, for 50 mg, 3 times a day, per os.
