The math curriculum in Canadian public schools differs significantly from that of the United States. Although my daughter was already a top student in her class, I discovered some gaps in her foundational knowledge when I introduced her to Afficient in sixth grade. After taking the placement test, it became clear that she was still missing some key fourth-grade concepts. She spent about a month strengthening those foundations, followed by two months catching up on the fifth-grade material. The program not only helped her fill in those gaps, but also improved her calculation speed through timed exercises, which enhanced her fluency and confidence. With clearly assigned weekly learning goals, she always knew what to focus on, and the built-in reward system encouraged her to stay motivated and take initiative.
