Vimeo is a frustrating platform. Its layout and menus change frequently. The analytics are useless: completely inaccurate. The video quality is good, I will grant that. But mostly it's overpriced and... See more

I love the features especially text-editing, although it could use some more. The price is high for what you get right now, but I still prefer it to other platforms for my purposes. That's why 4-stars and not 5.

Another churned customer due to 700% price increase
Per all the other recent 1-star reviews, we're moving off Vimeo due to a 700% price increase post the Bending Spoons acquisition - Vimeo moved our Business plan (£564 a year) onto their new Studio plan and charged us £4,080 ... No warning. No approval. Just a bill more than 7x higher than we paid previously.
So we are doing what any sensible team does and voting with our feet. We are moving our entire library to Livid Inc, whose importer pulled everything across from Vimeo in a couple of clicks, folder structure and privacy settings intact.
Sadly Vimeo is no longer what it was
Sadly Vimeo is no longer what it was. A change of owner now means they are bullying lower paying customers for thousands. Don't risk vimeo if you are a creator!

Disappointed & angry that overnight charges have been put up & long term customers being bullied & threats to delete videos - very poor way of operating a business
Nasty surprise price increases on renewals
Leaving aside the innumerable horror stories (July 2026) about people on lower-tier plans suddenly seeing renewal price/plan increases of 3000%, Vimeo's European users might as well quit the platform anyway:
The company is too lazy to comply with EU regulations and so prevents viewers from seeing your work. You can't view or be added to groups. You can't search. You don't appear in search engines. In fact, it's basically just a glorified googledrive, but at vastly higher price.
Read their help article Changes-to-Vimeo-com-in-the-EU-and-UK if you doubt it. "Vimeo no longer organizes or promotes individual user-uploaded videos on Vimeo.com in the EU or UK."
I've discovered the wonderful PeerTube however ... open source and blows away the US giants. Vimeo and Bending Spoons (who also destroyed Evernote) will be losing me before the next renewal.
Very happy just a bit expensive
Beware
Beware. This company has been bought by someone that is threatening people who are used videos by demanding huge amts of money & threatening to remove their videos before their contact has expired.

good however Trustpilot sucks because you can't just leave a simple review... Vimeo should dump them and just ask for feedback

I’m so disappointed that I can no longer get access to my faith journalling site as the owner has been subject to blackmail and bullying by the new owners!
5+ years paying customer terminated overnight, no reason, 300+ private videos locked
I've been a paying Vimeo customer for over 5 years, and overnight they terminated my account with no warning whatsoever. The termination email arrived on a Sunday at 10:30pm and simply cited a "violation of the acceptable use policy" with the actual reason field left completely blank. No specific rule, no example, nothing.
What makes this absurd: all of my videos were set to private and embedded only on private pages. Nothing was public. So there is no plausible "community" or public-facing violation here.
I have 300+ videos on this account: client work, training courses and marketing content. When I log in, the only thing I can do is open a support ticket. I have no way to access or download my own videos. Many of them were uploaded to Vimeo and I no longer have local copies on my computer or hard drive, so this content is effectively being held hostage with no way to retrieve it. This is unacceptable.
I opened a support ticket over 48 hours ago and have received zero response. Support is non-existent and there is no real way to reach a human.
For a paid service marketed to professionals, this is a total lack of professionalism. Terminating a 5-year paying customer overnight, with no notice, no stated reason, and no support or access to their own files, is unacceptable. If you rely on Vimeo for anything business-critical, back everything up elsewhere and assume your account can vanish overnight.

For a long time I considered Vimeo a great platform but now they are bullying low-paying customers which seriously lowered my opinion of them.

An appalling company that is putting up its fees at short notice, when well within current contract, threatening loss of much material- do not touch them with a barge pole!!!!!
