Dangerous vehicle sold with undisclosed defects — 3 months no resolution
Purchased a Citroën C3 Picasso through Transakauto Narbonne in April 2026 for €6,300. The vehicle had dangerous excessive oil consumption confirmed by official Citroën diagnostic, entering limp mode leaving me stranded. An undisclosed aftermarket modification was found. After 3 months of ignored emails, formal notices, signal.conso complaints and UFC-Que Choisir involvement — no resolution, no official sales receipt, no carte grise transfer. VP Autos confirmed on the French government platform signal.conso that Transakauto took responsibility for the guarantee. Legal proceedings now underway. Avoid this network.
UPDATE: Transakauto Développement has publicly responded claiming they were unaware of this dispute before my review. This is inaccurate — emails were sent directly to Transakauto head office and senior management including the Directrice Générale and founder on multiple occasions since June 2026. Transakauto Narbonne publicly committed on the French government platform signal.conso.gouv.fr to comply with applicable regulations — a commitment that has not been honoured. VP Autos confirmed on the same platform that Transakauto took responsibility for the guarantee and carte grise transfer under a €990 contract. UFC-Que Choisir is formally involved and legal proceedings are now underway.
Update August 2026
The situation continues to deteriorate. The vehicle now has an additional serious problem — the cooling fan runs continuously after the engine is switched off, completely draining the battery every day requiring multiple AXA emergency callouts. An independent garage confirmed this is an ECU/computer problem that only Citroën can fix. The gommage de segmentation treatment carried out on 30th June 2026 at my own expense of €957.43 has also completely failed — the oil warning light returned after only 3,400 km. I specifically bought this car for its air conditioning which is essential in Languedoc where summer temperatures regularly exceed 35°C — yet using the air conditioning worsens the engine problems making the car effectively undriveable in summer. Transakauto head office publicly committed on this platform to examine my file — they have provided no response whatsoever. UFC-Que Choisir is formally involved and I am now seeking full contract cancellation and complete reimbursement of €6,300 plus all associated costs through the tribunal judiciaire de Narbonne. Four months of ignored correspondence, dangerous breakdowns and a failed repair. Avoid this network entirely.
