Worst airline I have ever travelled with so expensive rude staff no duty free never gonna avoid the all costs
We flew to Antalya yesterday from Edinburgh and we could not have had a better flight experience! All the staff were very friendly and courteous! Everything from dropping our bags off to picking our bags up in Antalya was met with professionalism and care! Could not rate the experience any higher! Thank you!
What went wrong? Everything!
2 hours and 58 minutes late. No compensation as it's under 3 hours. Even though their own app actually said it was over 3 hours. Something they've conveniently ignored.
There was also an issue with the gates on our return. No one could give an update, no one stopped to answer any questions and even the check in staff were shouting and arguing with each other in front of us.
We had 13 minutes to go from check in to the boarding gate and the rep at the desk said it would "probably" be delayed. No helpful.
Final slap in the face, all 3 of our cases were lost. It seems we out ran them to the boarding gate/ plane. We got them back 5 days later thankfully.
Raised a complaint and got a pitiful answer.
Do not use these cowboys!!

I would like to make a formal complaint about the unacceptable treatment we received from your ground staff at Antalya Airport yesterday (I have the name of the lady but I won't write it here.).
Despite our under-seat cabin bags being within the permitted dimensions, a staff member repeatedly questioned us simply because the bags had wheels. She even stated that she was being so strict because we had purchased discounted tickets. I find this attitude completely unacceptable. If our bags meet the permitted dimensions, the price of our tickets should make no difference.
Eventually, we were only allowed to take them after carrying them without using the wheels. Travelling with two young children was already challenging, and this unnecessary situation caused us considerable stress.
The same staff member also questioned our request for printed boarding passes, despite us explaining that we had no internet access. Throughout the interaction, her attitude was rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, she made a sarcastic and insulting comment in Turkish: "Allah sizin şifanızı versin."
We have travelled with SunExpress for years and have never experienced such treatment. Our flights from Manchester have always been pleasant, with staff being particularly helpful and understanding towards families with children.
Being a passenger with a discounted ticket does not mean we deserve less respect. Nobody has the right to insult customers, regardless of how busy or stressful their job may be.
I expect SunExpress to investigate this incident and provide an explanation. Customer loyalty should not be taken for granted, especially when there are many alternative airlines available.

Baggage allowance included in my booking, but I was still charged £160! Very disappointing experience!
I booked my holiday through On the Beach, and my booking confirmation clearly showed that both a 4 kg small bag and an 8 kg cabin bag were included for me and my son at no additional cost.
On 26 October 2026, we were flying from Antalya to Manchester with SunExpress. When we arrived at Antalya Airport, we were unexpectedly charged £80 per bag, totalling £160. I was absolutely shocked because our booking clearly showed that our baggage was included.
This caused unnecessary stress and upset for both me and my son. We had already paid for our holiday, and I never expected to face additional charges for baggage that was supposed to be included.
Another strange and uncomfortable experience happened during the flight. The curtain separating part of the aircraft was kept closed throughout the entire journey, and passengers who wanted to use the toilet were being turned away and told to use another toilet. I found this very unusual and uncomfortable, especially as there was no clear explanation.
What disappointed me even more was how On the Beach handled my complaint. Despite providing screenshots showing that our baggage was included, I received a generic response saying they would not offer compensation. They completely failed to address my main concern, which was getting a refund of the £160 baggage charge.
I have also submitted a formal complaint directly to SunExpress.
I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want my £160 refunded because my booking clearly showed that the baggage was already included.
I feel completely let down by both companies. Between the unexpected airport charges, the uncomfortable situation during the flight and the poor handling of my complaint, this was an extremely disappointing end to our holiday.
I am still waiting for a proper explanation and a full refund.
I will never book with On the Beach or fly with SunExpress again. Both companies have completely lost my trust, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

The sunexpress app. is very unfriendly, it is difficult to manage.
I had three trips to Izmrlir this year, the first two were OK, I booked the third time the same way, But at the check in counter I was told that I had no baggage right so I had to pay 40kg of excess baggage because the app.was changed so if you didn't select baggage option you were assumed that you had no baggage. Before this was not the case I was allowed 20 kg. Per person.
I was very dissapointed because I am a good Izmir Milano customer.
If you call me I will be glad to explain if this is not clear.

SunExpress cancelled our Düsseldorf–Antalya flight (XQ189) on 15 August 2026, leaving four passengers stranded. Provided ZERO information during that day which caused so much stress. We had to arrange replacement flights ourselves.
People were literally crying and fighting with the security at the airport because of this.
SunExpress then refused our €1,600 EU261 compensation claim, citing an external system outage without providing the supporting technical evidence we requested.
After repeated rejections, we had to involve legal counsel in Germany. They still keep rejecting, providing NO details about the cause. This is super shady, I’m in shock that they are still operating with this corruption.
My experience: when things go wrong, don’t expect any resolution with SunExpress. I’m NEVER booking with them, ever again. You also definitely shouldn’t.
A regular user of this airline. Great value and user friendly web site.
After care phone support has always proved to be prompt, professional and helpful.

⭐ 1 Star – £800 for Four Extra Suitcases – Absolutely Disgraceful Customer Service
I am absolutely appalled by my recent experience with SunExpress on flight XQ592 from Antalya to Manchester on 1 November 2026.
Before travelling, I attempted to purchase additional baggage allowance online. When the system wouldn't allow me to do so, I contacted SunExpress customer services directly to resolve the issue.
Rather than helping me purchase the baggage at the cheaper advance rate, their representative specifically instructed me to arrange and pay for it at the airport.
I followed their instructions, only to be hit with an astonishing £200 PER SUITCASE – £800 IN TOTAL FOR FOUR CASES!
This is completely unacceptable.
I did everything reasonably possible to arrange and pay for the additional baggage in advance. I even took the time to telephone the airline, only to be directed into a situation where I was charged a vastly higher amount.
How can an airline justify financially penalising customers for following the advice of its own customer service representatives?
This wasn't a case of turning up at the airport unprepared. I actively tried to pay in advance and was prevented from doing so.
I will now be pursuing a formal complaint and requesting reimbursement of the difference between the airport charges and the advance-purchase rates.
£800 for four additional suitcases, after being told by SunExpress to pay at the airport, is nothing short of outrageous.
I would strongly advise anyone considering flying with SunExpress to be extremely cautious about their baggage charges and the advice provided by their customer service team.
A thoroughly disappointing experience and certainly not one that encourages me to fly with them again.

Terrible online check in from holiday resort. Couldnt download or print boarding passes. Bag drop was useless and hard to follow. Didnt work with no one helping. Bloke i asked was computer said no.
Onboard, very odd that the curtain was pulled confusing us as to whether we could use the toilets or not.
Onflight menu was poor. Shocked to see nuts allowed. Cabin crew messed uo by order both times. Bottles of water tiny.
The corkscrew take off and landing made my son and i feel sick.
Ive had much better experience on uk airlines.

As an older traveller with many years of Business travel I chose to pay for the priority service. In checking in at Cologne the priority line was closed and the check in person told everybody to go into one queue. When he saw my ticket he did apologise, which is good. Priority luggage did not work either arrival in Izmir or on the return. My bag was one of the last. Flight crew were excellent and had to deal with some difficult passengers who obviously do not fly regularly.

Do NOT book any flights with this company. I had to cancel my flight due to the sudden and unexpected death of my mother. 6 times I attempted to claim a refund I am entitled too. Each time I contacted them which can only be done thru webchat they kept requesting documents or the attachment icon would randomly disappear so I couldn't attach whst they asked for. I finally was able to upload what was requested and it still wasnt enough. These are a scam airline. They will take your money and wont refund you under any circumstances. They make everything difficult and continue to out obstacles in the way no matter what you do. Not to be used or trusted. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from them. They are shameful.
The SunExpress check-in process at Manchester airport was chaotic. We struggled with the digital check-in and then realised we had joined the most enormous queue with others who hadn't used the digitial check-in - what's the point? It took a bit over an hour to drop off our bags, we had already checked-in online. We started our holiday tired and stressed.
