I needed help making healthy meals for my family. I like that Hungryroot offers anti-inflammatory meals. I would prefer all the meals menus be printed on paper. I don't enjoy opening up a QR code to... See more

I love the microwaveable options in terms of meals and recipes.
I really appreciate how healthy everything is.
The delivery days are really convenient as well.
I regrettably just enrolled for my first delivery, but done BEFORE seeing what I would be sent! I tried to cancel, but cannot find any customer service contact or even skip this order, eventhough it advertizes that skipping can be done. I don’t care for most of the kind of food offered and don't want it! I request that customer service contact me via email immediately!!

I am wrapping up my first week with Hungryroot and I am impressed. So far everything has tasted great and super easy to prepare.

The portions are good, the food is fresh. I would like have more control over the weekly selections for meals and I never got the 10 free meals like the advertisement I saw said I would.

I enjoy the cookbook selections. I enjoy the meals and the convenience of not shopping.

I really didn’t like the cooked meals at all. The meat was over cooked and not enough food. The shrimp was cooked well. I think my favorite is the raw vegetables and the snacks. I have paused the membership until January 1 of next year. How can you remove dinner from my membership? Breakfast and lunch would be better. The tamales was very good.
Not what I was expecting. Really wanted more easily either premade or package meals, not a bunch of different food tossed into a box to sort and prepare. For the cost of your service this should be separated by meal/recipe and easy to decipher.
Pkus the delivery being late, still cold but nothing frozen, the box damaged and driver not following instructions makes it too much. I specifically noted that the driver was to ring the doorbell to alert that the delivery was made. Didn't happen. Delivery made at 9:30pm. Had I gone to bed at normal time, it would have sat there in a warm Texas night till morning.
You have only one chance at a first impression and you blew it.

I ordered a vegan/organic meal box. After consuming the food in my very first meal, my hands and lips swelled. Medical attention was needed at the emergency room. I was advised that it was something I had consumed from the food box. This could be from packaging, preservatives, or the food. But will def not be trying again.
Food is mediocre at best and website is awful. Thought i was editing second week of food but was somehow editing first week's. They charged us for two weeks, but we got only one week. Incredibly expensive for what you get. Don't waste your time or money.

I tried the black bean brownie batter. I made it into cookies, and it was exquisite. I can’t believe it’s black bean!🫘 would definitely recommend it and buy it again.

For the first time in a year of service, almost a year, two payments were taken at the same time. That means I was charged twice for my groceries. I reached out, and your customer service told me that, no, I wasn't charged twice. When I sent them a picture of my bank account statement showing the two charges, one cleared and one impending payment, which I still have no access to, The customer service rep said: oh that's not a double charge, it's a temporary hold until your payment clears. Well, the picture of my bank account that I sent them shows the cleared payment and the double payment still in the impending payments. It's been 4 days, and that money is still being held from me. This is the first time they've ever done this to me. They sent me a meager portion of food, for which they charged me $86, and a temporary hold of $86. You know who doesn't charge me twice for my food? You know who I don't have to put down a deposit with to get food? The grocery store. This is a scam. I still don't have access to the money that was on a temporary hold. I wonder if I'll have access to it before the next day that I am set up to pay for another measly amount of groceries. Do I have to put down a deposit for every delivery I get now? No, I don't. Because I canceled the service. Because I'll never use a service like this again. I will continue to go to the grocery store because when I give them my money for food they don't ask me for more money. They take my money and give me my food. No deposit required.

I got the Kenya AB FOR THE 1st delivery and it has been quite delicious. It is very important to let the beans de-gas. I started brewing a small cup each day and it was cool to experience the beans taste better and better until they turned a rich dark color and developed their full complex flavor. It took about a 8 days from delivery to reach it. Looking forward to the next batch!

Tamale was good
Made the shrimp pasta, very dry
Avocado sauce package was open.
Spinach already wilted
Haven’t made the other items, had surgery on Tuesday

The meals have been outstanding. Delivery, not so much. Perhaps finding another carrier rather than CDL would help. I've only received 2 orders which is not much of a sample but does raise concern.

i tried to cancel three days before delivery and they said that was too late
I donated the food
to a food pantry but I removed some
low quality items from the box
i thought some
of the items were such low quality I could ethically give them away

I used Hungryroot off and on for two years, and the first year was great. The food is delicious and made it easy to eat healthy. Unfortunately, delivery and customer service have declined to the point that I’ve canceled.
Delivery: I live in Charlotte, NC. Over the last three months, 42% of my orders had delivery problems: either arriving days late or, most recently, never arriving at all. Hungryroot offered three delivery vendors, and I tried two with the same results. When you’re expecting fresh food, unreliable delivery is a real problem. You hold off on grocery shopping because your order should arrive any minute, and customer service can’t tell you if or when it will.
Customer service: This used to be Hungryroot’s strength, but it’s essentially gone now. I contacted them nine times about a single order that never arrived. Each time, I had to follow up and ask for help, whether that meant escalating with the delivery vendor or simply finding out whether I should expect the order at all. I asked three times to escalate my ticket, and they never did. I also asked to be connected with the team member who works with shipping vendors (someone who had previously helped me switch vendors), and they ignored that request too. The representative was dismissive and rude.
The only resolution offered was a refund for the order I never received. That isn’t a goodwill gesture; I shouldn’t have to pay for food that never arrived in the first place.
I wanted to keep using Hungryroot because I genuinely like the product, but without reliable delivery or responsive support, I can’t recommend it right now.

I love the simplicity and quality of the food. This is the first meal delivery service that I have liked and I love it.

I signed up for Hungryroot thinking it was a meal delivery service. It isn't, at least not in the way I expected, and that's where the problems started.
When I tried to cancel, I was routed through a chat feature and then an agent named Alan, who took his time processing the request. I canceled on October 22nd for a delivery scheduled for October 26th, four days in advance, and was told it was "too late" to cancel. My credit card was charged $200, which is an exorbitant amount for something I didn't want and tried to stop.
To make matters worse, the order includes red meat. I don't eat red meat at all, so I have no idea how this box was put together or what my preferences were supposed to accomplish.
Between the misleading impression of what the service is, a chat feature that seems designed to trap customers because it states that you have to speak to a representative, and then the slow, unhelpful support, I cannot recommend Hungryroot.
