Luckily we don't own the car anymore.
Always look around and compare places for better rates before signing anything!!
Extremely poor online customer service.
Very poor online customer service.
I waited over 30 minutes on the phone, only to be told repeatedly by the customer representative that he was not the right person to assist me, even though the call had been directed to him. Instead of helping or taking ownership of the issue, he kept transferring my call from one department to another.
I even requested that they call me back when someone was available to assist, but my request was ignored. Communication was also difficult, as the representative appeared to have trouble understanding simple English.
Overall, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. There was no ownership, no resolution, and a complete lack of customer care.
Dishonest company
Dishonest company. The 6 months interest free is a scam. Look out for the interest charges sneaked into your statement!
This company is shocking
This company.. difficult at every turn. I could list the difficult and frustrating experiences
But this time I paid my account off in full and requested to close the account 3 months ago. They haven’t and now charge fees to have a 0 balance account.

Gem visa lattitude customer service is the worst! They have a big attitude, standoffish, and would not even acknowledge concerns and end up not helping at all! Lattitude needs to train these reps asap coz no one is helpful at all considering how long the wait was.
Gem Finance is terrible
Gem Finance is terrible, I have not been able to get into my own account for 3 months. There customer service is terrible and I have not recieved any support or correction of the issue! There e-mails go to spam, they took 3 weeks to reply which went to spam then closed my complaint after 2 days. I still can not get into my own account the website crashes or something? Absolutely terrible experience. I will be cancelling my card absolutely useless!
GEM Visa
I have been with GEM Visa for over 13 years. GEM Visa is not the company I first signed up with.
I have now cancelled my GEM credit card.
The company has become very dishonest. They pay off new debt before they will put your funds to the old debt which is due to expire. Then charge you interest on the old debt as it hasn't been paid in time!! Have had several occasions where they have paid off a 12 month debt months before it was due to be paid off and not a debt that is due to expire that month. They then charge you interest on this. Even though it is their error. Not interested in assisting you. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they are so dishonest. Their staff are totally unprofessional. Avoid this company at all costs.
GEM Visa is a masterclass in poor transparency.
GEM Visa is a masterclass in poor transparency. Fees and settlement figures are confusing, hard to verify, and unnecessarily opaque.
Its parent company, Latitude, is reportedly facing a potential $85M penalty in Australia over misleading advertising—hardly reassuring.
Whether intentional or not, this feels misleading. For a financial provider, that’s unacceptable. Proceed with caution.
Absolutely shocking communication
Absolutely shocking communication. Greedy is another word I would use for this company. Tell you one thing (interest rate) you apply, and find that the actual interest
rate is double. Absolute crooks.
Miss your manual payment & risk owing interest!
I can absolutely confirm what some of the other people voiced. I used Gem to buy necessary appliances when needed and that part all went super smooth and easy. I have a very high credit score overall and make sure I pay all my bills up front, my Gem makes it super difficult for people to be able to do that. Your account is not setup for direct debit automatically and even if you setup your account on their app, it still does not work. You need to print and fill in the application and post it to them like back in 1986. Due to the lack of correspondence you are still at risk of failing at this attempt. It is like they want you to miss the first, second or any payment for that matter so xan start charging you interest you would think is free by default. Fraudulent behaviour on their behalf to scam customers into losing money.
Horrible money making trap.
Horrible money making trap.
Their system is designed to charge you interest, so every time you pay back you have to call them otherwise your money goes to higher interest account. There is no protection against 'no service' from merchant, so if you are scammed you have lost your money. Most of the support provided by chat bots, so your left with seeking legal advice or lawyers for your basic disputes!
Go homeless if you have to, but get rid of Gem Card!
Worst contractor working for councils
Worst contractor by far working from missed appointments bad workmanship taking months to complete jobs and making up fake appointments shocking really then you councils saying do it right first time they must joking 😀
Very good
Ya! Services is very good take care of patient health I will satisfied,
Terms and conditions just got even worse
As if the GEM Visa nightmare wasn't already bad enough, they have just updated the terms and conditions so you DON'T get 6 months interest free automatically, instead, you have a limited time to go online and apply for it AFTER the sale. And now, all overseas purchases (including online) NO LONGER QUALIFY for 6 months interest free. This is all on top of the long list of deceitful practices you can already read about in other reviews. If you have this card, pay it off and get rid of it. If you are thinking about getting one, honestly, just don't do it.
BEWARE OF GEM
I am disappointed with my experience with Gem. Despite requesting the issuance of a new account due to recurring unauthorized payments—regardless of whether new cards are issued—the issue persists. I have contacted approximately seven different customer service representatives without receiving a satisfactory resolution. Consequently, I have filed a formal complaint.
It would have been straightforward to close the existing account and reissue a new one, but this was not done promptly. Since the unauthorized payments began in September, the issues remain unresolved. Additionally, communication with staff has been challenging, as there has been conflicting information, and explanations have often been unclear. At one point, I was told an investigation had been conducted, only to be informed a month later that no investigation was ever initiated.
Due to these ongoing issues, I have decided to close my account and seek alternative services. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Gem.

SHOCKING SERVICE !!!
Latitude Financial/GEM VISA are easily the worst financial company I have dealt with. I deal with 7 others.
It starts with the multiple different websites (making huge potential risk running into scammers), and most recently not being able to log-in to my account.
Their customer service is slow to respond, an issue response to arrive within a week is now 2 1/2 weeks (& counting), and they insist I install Google Chrome to resolve. I told them it would not happen but it just went in circles.
A quick search (even googles own search) will show the security risks with Chrome & why I refuse to use it.
Recently, not being able to access my account/statement had resulted in a penalty as I was unaware of their won charges being added & so underpaid.
Their 2023 cyber attack (with millions of customers details stolen) was no surprise, and a AFAC report, in Aug 2025, shows some 180 customers still have complaints to be resolved.
NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!
One of the worst in my 50 yrs of…
One of the worst in my 50 yrs of business experience. Long story short: Retarded, arrogant, lack of any professionalism, let alone any common sense or wisdom. All I wanted was a 12 mth programme to teach children to value money & not splurge, I showed evidence of financial standing, In fact, with investments abroad, hv enough $ to buy the goods 200 times over! They disqualified me, as some sort of a ''beggar'' Lol, gd karma for me.
