Passive protection with little performance penalty
BitDefender passively protects the PC, without a severe impact on the system, whilst also providing options for different degrees of manual system scanning.
On the date, BitDefender found 2 viruses from a file I downloaded from the internet, it quarantined them, and even had a shredding utility to get rid of them easily & for good :)

Customer Support very poor.
After being blocked from browsing on my pc,
tried to contact their customer support by phone but got number not recognised on the two contact numbers listed on their website then tried contacting them by email but was blocked from sending by captcha errors-so only contact option was via on-line chat where I requested (several times) a call-back from customer support which has never been returned.
I then uninstalled their products (Premium internet security and VPN) from all my devices and all my problems disappeared.
I will not be re-installing their products (or dealing with this company again) - despite the fact that there is outstanding time on my contract and I am loosing money.

I have been a customer for nearly 10 years, but no longer. They have hiked the price on auto renewal hoping that I was stupid enough to not notice. After querying they said that this is now normal practice for them. I, of course, queried this and their offer to keep my custom was pitiful and way higher than the competition. Beware that if you manage to get a good deal as a new customer that your renewal may see a huge price hike.
