From your review, it is not entirely clear whether your appointment was related to laser vision correction/lens replacement surgery or to a general eye consultation. At Memira, we provide both refractive surgery and ophthalmology services, and the process differs depending on the type of appointment.
Following laser vision correction or lens replacement surgery, patients are routinely scheduled for follow-up examinations with our specialised optometrists, who monitor the healing process and ensure that recovery is progressing as expected. If they assess that an eye doctor should be involved, we of course arrange this without delay.
We also offer consultations with our eye doctors for the assessment and treatment of eye diseases and other eye-related conditions that are not related to refractive surgery.
We are sorry if our communication was unclear or if you felt you were not treated with the respect you deserve. Lasik and Lens implant
My husband got Lasik here and I got lens implant surgery.
Waking up and seeing after a lifetime of glasses is insane. I am seeing better than I ever have in my life!
Recovery is going quicker for ICL the. Lasik, I already feel good the next day (my husband took 3 days to recover after lasik).

LASEK experience - amazing
I recently went through LASEK laser eye surgery at Memira eye clinic in Copenhagen. They were very professional all throughout the various consultations. The surgery itself was inevitably uncomfortable, but was quickly over. I couldn’t feel a thing in my eyes, which was a relief. Today I’m on day 5 post surgery and I couldn’t be happier. My vision has improved drastically. I look forward to the end result in three months time. I really recommend using this eye clinic if you’re considering laser eye surgery. They’re professional, nice, comforting and good at what they’re doing.

Very bad experience
I had a very bad experience in here, the doctor was rude from the beginning, a minor procedure was necessary and he did it without anesthesia (not even asking me) which was VERY painful and scary as hell, he even threw the sheet with post procedure indications on top of my coat, asking "how is your danish?", I replied "not very good" and he said "well, now you can practice with this", serious disrespect and total lack of care for he's patient. I will try to find a way to make a formal complaint to the relevant authorities, and I advice you to avoid this place.

What a mistake to trust these people…
What a mistake to trust these people with my eyesight. The people themselves are friendly and helpful, but their processes are incredibly unprofessional. I had to do multiple rounds of testing, which was understandable considering I had a very specific problem, but my appointments were moved or cancelled multiple times.
They finally decided on a course of treatment. When I arrived for the operation, I went through the entire prep procedure, with drops and sedatives before I was told that they needed more testing, and cancelled the operation.
I went back for more tests, and got a new date, only to have it cancelled again. At the 3rd attempt, the surgeon wanted to cancel yet again for more testing, but I said I wanted to proceed with the treatment that was agreed upon.
He then changed the lens choice without informing me, choosing a different lens than what was agreed upon previously after so much deliberation, and chose to do only one eye, instead of both as I was told would happen.
During all the testing, I made it very clear that my near vision was critical for being able to do my job.
The surgeon chose a lens with only midrange clarity, which means I have completely lost my near focus, which was perfect before.
I went back after some weeks (getting my appointment cancelled again, twice), saying I was struggling to do my work, but they backtracked and said it was because the operation was paid for by the state, so they used the cheaper lens. Never was I told they were going to use a different lens, or offered me any other options.
They have now shirked all responsibility, saying there's nothing they can do to fix it.
Now I have a daily struggle doing my job, getting headaches and muscle spasms from straining to see, even though I've paid thousands for good varifocal glasses.
The eye lens cannot be replaced, and it's just too bad.
I am sad and frustrated, and my life is much more difficult this way. I regret ever setting foot in that place.

As a clinic we follow the official rules regarding cataract treatments. When a cataract patient is referred to us by the district/region, there are certain rules we must follow, such as, a cataract grading system to ensure that the patient is cataract treatable.
During every standard cataract surgery, both private and public, the patient’s intra ocular lens with cataract will be replaced with a clear high-quality FDA and CE approved ocular lens. This means that the patient will be free of cataract, but not their need for glasses.
Sometimes we need extra data or measurements before surgery than expected, which sometimes leads to cancellation of a planned surgery and maybe even two, but we only do this with the care of the patient’s safe surgery in mind.
We always aim for the best and safest treatment of our patients.

So fast, so nice service from the team, absolutely fantastic! Waking up Saturday - reaching out for glasses that were not there (still in the ocean), sitting up, and able to see the string on our flagpole... just some dripping left. Fantastic product. Great teamwork. Recommended experience!

treated like a rat
After many years being patient with this place I was in an emergency situation, a couple of weeks ago. Needed an immediate check up. Phoned the eyecenter and heard to my surprise that they don't help patients anymore using the yellow Danish insurance card. I told them it is an emergency and that I have been patient for many years with them. They know my history and eye problems. They told me to find another eye doctor. Totally surprised with the lack of helping I spend a long time trying to find another eye doctor. Found one, where they checked me 3 days after I had been in touch with Memira.
Why haven't I been informed that Memira doesn't take yellow card insured patinets anymore since ....? So I could have looked for another eye doctor.
Why don't they help an old patient in need for at least one more time and give him the time to find a new eye doctor?
Why don't they have organised a new eye doctor for me?
The new eye doctor asked -on my request - from Memira my documents. He never got a reply.
Feels like being treated like a rat after so many years of being patient. I even lived in the same street as where one of the grounders of this eye center lived. I knew him personally.
So, if you want have bad service visit Memira eye center. Bring lot's of money then maybe they treat you better.

Several years ago an "yellow card eye doctor" rented some space in our building Øjenlægernes Hus (now Memira Øjenlægernes Hus). It's very unfortunate that he hasn't told you about his moving.
We are, and have always been, a private eye clinic, where you pay for your consultation.
