Feels like they only care about taking your money

I am genuinely disappointed with PureGym and the way they treat their members.
I signed up together with a friend when they had an offer where the first month was only 1 krone. Obviously, it seemed like a good deal at the time, but the experience afterwards has been anything but good.
I cancelled my membership yesterday, and somehow I was still charged 377 DKK today. I find that absolutely ridiculous, especially considering that I cancelled just yesterday. I understand that there may be notice periods and terms and conditions, but the whole system feels like it is designed to get as much money out of members as possible.
I have tried contacting customer service to ask what is going on and why I was charged, but it has been incredibly frustrating. Every time I contact them, I am basically told that they will “look into it,” but then nothing actually happens.
It genuinely feels like they do not care about how their members are treated or whether they have a good experience. As long as they get their money, that seems to be all that matters.
To me, PureGym feels more like a company focused on taking money from its members than a company that actually cares about providing a good experience.
I absolutely cannot recommend PureGym.

When a membership is cancelled, the applicable notice period still applies, which means that a payment can be due after the cancellation has been submitted.
I’m sorry to hear that you have found it frustrating to get help from our Member Service. We understand how frustrating it is when you feel that you are waiting for answers without seeing any progress.

So many advertisements screens..
I am really frustrated to see all these advertisements screens pop up everywhere in the gym. It is so distracting. I just think like what am I paying for? They just want me to buy buy buy. Just let me do my rehabilitation in peace, I have nowhere else to go..

Higher prices, lower quality, lack of care for customers
First and foremost, I've been with Pure Gym for a couple of years now, and my observation is that the prices are getting higher but the quality of centers is getting lower.
Today, I had to change my membership and the process was incredibly unpleasant. The customer service has never been excellent at PureGym, but how can you also demand 50 DKK for changing the main centre and another 50 for downgrading the offer? It's ridiculous. I liked PureGym, but I feel like you don't really care about your customers and instead of putting a pause I am stopping my membership.

Nice equipment, staff are nice, members are nice.
Training across several of their gyms on a weekly basis, I can say these things hold true almost at all the locations I've trained at.

I’m on holiday in Denmark and just needed a temporary membership so I popped into the Ballerup centre. I’m from England so don’t speak much Danish Bertram the Puregym worker was excellent and talked me through the process of joining and the app. This was doubly difficult as I was also tired from watching the World Cup until 5am. Bertram was very professional and helpful and very patient. I joined up and have had my first session great gym great staff. I would highly recommend this gym.

Think twice before you sign up
Think twice before you sign up. On the 21st of May I cancelled my membership. I went through the whole cancellation process and thought I was done. In June they charged me again, according to their policy - that’s fine. However, now they have also charged me in July and when I checked my account, I see my membership is still active. THIS IS INTOLERABLE, and perhaps even a scam. I will take the necessary measures to correct this situation.

Super expensive membership for…
Super expensive membership for literally zero service. They took 50kr for changing my membership to another and then 50 extra kr for changing my main gym, which that has to be already counted on changing the membership. I don't understand why do they need to take so much money on every single action. This is stealing money in the modern world. I am completely unsatisfied. You pay so much per month with no additional services, such as public trainer or public activities. These prices are insane and seems like a prank. Super unsatisfied and i don't suggest

Very dirty at the bath floor in women…
PureGym; Ballerup: Very dirty at the bath floor in women changing room. All the shower heads water coming very slow, Its full off limescale and bad smell. I dont think they clean the floor at all, that u have to bring ur slippers to not get dirty feet. In the fitness area there r no cleaned at window like there r spiderwebs everywhere, they don’t clean the floor in gym area too. When it is warmth they don’t even turn on the air condition. I will not recommend to get member ship there at all !!!!!!!!! 🤬
