The type of cruise that forms lasting memories!
The overall experience of the cruise met our expectations (which were very high following our previous year's Ponant Kimberley Cruise). The expedition experiences were wonderful and informative, the cuisine was excellent and the entertainment great. Staff were all polite and personable. I honestly don’t even know where to start. Our week onboard Le Bougainville has been one of the most incredible holidays we’ve ever had.
The first thing I have to mention is the staff. They are, without a doubt, the best part of the entire experience. Every single member of the crew is absolutely exceptional at what they do. From the housekeeping team, restaurant staff, bar staff, expedition team, reception and officers – every person we met was so friendly, welcoming and genuinely wanted to make your holiday as perfect as possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they really do go above and beyond every single day. We honestly couldn’t fault a single member of staff. Their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed and they’re a huge reason why this cruise is so special.
The ship itself is immaculate. Everywhere you look is spotless and beautifully maintained. The attention to detail is second to none, and it’s clear the crew take enormous pride in keeping the ship looking perfect.
The food was absolutely beautiful. Every meal felt like fine dining, with so much choice and variety throughout the week. There was something different every day, all cooked to such a high standard. It really exceeded our expectations.
The itinerary was also fantastic. We loved that you could choose the excursions that suited you best, whether you wanted something more adventurous or a relaxed day exploring. It meant everyone could tailor the holiday to exactly what they wanted. Every destination was stunning and we really felt like we experienced the very best of Croatia. Every stop had its own charm and left us wanting to come back.
Our stateroom was beautifully decorated and had absolutely everything you could possibly need. The Diptyque toiletries were a lovely luxury touch, and everything from the hairdryer, sewing kit, nail file, cotton buds, slippers and robes had been thought of. The housekeeping team were simply amazing. Fresh towels were provided twice a day, they turned the bed down every evening, folded our pyjamas, drew the curtains and even left little treats on the bed. It was those thoughtful touches that made us feel so looked after.
Every single member of the crew works incredibly hard, and it really shows in every aspect of the experience. Their professionalism, kindness and attention to detail are genuinely second to none.
Overall, this has been an unforgettable holiday and one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. Ponant truly does go the extra mile in every possible way. If you’re considering booking a cruise with them, do it—you won’t regret it. We can’t wait to sail with Ponant again.

Sexual Assault on Ponant Cruise
My partner was sexually assaulted on a Ponant cruise to the Aegean in October 2025. Reported to the Captain who investigated. With the excuse of no video coversge in the public restroom in which the assault occurred, all the Captain felt empowered to do was ask for a formsl apology from the assailant and write a report to HQ which we were assured we would get a copy.
We got neither an apology or a report or frankly the identity of the assailant. A French speaker in the Owners cabin. Clearly entitled.
Explicit email and voice calls to Ponsnt resulted in explicit denial of the case. Case closed.
I had done four prior Ponant trips that were wonderful. But they were all English speaking booked thru Smithsonian. This was French dominant trip with a French assailant.
If you value the safety of your female partners never trust Ponant to be on your side.
Never traveling in them again. Still looking for all possible criminal and legal recourse.
Perhaps I should show up in their US office.

Our second cruise with Ponant
Our second cruise with Ponant. Exceptional service and food with mostly good excursions especially the Pinault art experience and talks given by Emma Lavigne and Adam Tanner who was an engaging and knowledgeable presenter on the history of Croatia and Italy, with a long lived experience of Venice. The interpreter was also exceptional .
We highly recommend the Adriatic ArtTour. We would have liked more biennale time in port and help with navigating the digital map that does not include opening times.

Booked a cruise for November 2026 a few months ago, however due to health deteriorating with my mother I had to cancel 5 months before due to travel. I understand the T&Cs say no refund.
The cruise is still selling the cruise and has not stopped selling since I made my reservation, I’ve used Ponant twice before spending 30k+
I did not ask for refund just some credit for my 4.5k deposit. The reply is a straight NO!
Something, 50% credit towards a future reservation etc.

Too lazy to answer questions
I have been trying to book a Greenland cruise. I have twice, using the form on their website, submitted the same question about flights. They sent a reply saying they would answer asap and since then I have heard nothing. The first question was three weeks ago and then again a week ago.
