The delivery of our mushrooms was left in next doors paper bin
The delivery of our mushrooms was left in next doors wast paper recycling bin, they just looked by chance and found our package in the bottonm of the bin.
One we recieved them they were quite soggy and rather than the nice white colour they were a beige to light brown colour.

Unfortunately, once an order has been dispatched, we have no control over how Royal Mail chooses to deliver it, and leaving a parcel in a neighbouring property's recycling bin is certainly not the experience we want for our customers.
We appreciate that this is especially frustrating when the mushrooms then arrive in less than ideal condition.
As a small family business, experiences like this do unfortunately have a negative impact on us, despite the delivery being outside our control, but our customers are always our number one priority and we want to put things right.
We have actually emailed you directly, so please get back in touch with us urgently so we can look into the quality issue and resolve this for you.
For future orders, we would also recommend keeping an eye on the Royal Mail tracking link provided in your dispatch email, as well as any emails or texts from Royal Mail, as your contact details are shared with them so they can provide the latest delivery updates.

Having looked into your order, we can see it contained pre-order growing kits that were not yet ready for dispatch. We only dispatch our growing kits once they meet our high-quality standards, and the recent heatwave had a temporary impact on our production. Rather than compromise on quality, we delayed dispatch until the kits were ready.
As noted on both the product pages and in your order confirmation email, these growing kits were scheduled for dispatch during the week commencing 6th July. Your order was dispatched on 6th July and delivered on 7th July.
We understand it's easy to miss pre-order information when placing an order, which is why we do our best to make it as visible as possible on both our website and in the order confirmation. We truly appreciate your feedback and we look forward to being of service to you again soon!

Excellent chemical free mushrooms delivered neatly packed, smooth transaction every time. The mushrooms are always fresh and delicious. I also really appreciate the variety of mushrooms I can order from Merit Mushrooms and the variety is important for not only culinary reasons but also health wise. Different types of mushrooms offer different health benefits, although I mainly pay attention to variety because it is beneficial for microbiome. Each type of mushroom feeds different beneficial bacteria in the gut and more varieties of mushrooms equal more types of good bacteria fed. I heard one should aim to consume at least 5 different types of mushrooms per week and the same goes for fermented foods. My personal favourites are nameko and maitake mushrooms. Nameko is very delicious in miso soup and maitake, when sautéed in butter they have a flavour of wild mushrooms from the forest. Tasty added anywhere. Great in sauce with fried onions, crème fraiche (should not be heated), salt, pepper, fresh goat or sheep cheese can be added too, plus parsley, last two optional and poured over boiled potatoes. Potatoes can be even cold, more inulin that way.
In addition, I appreciate that mushrooms fresh and dried are packed in cardboard boxes and paper / paper bags with minimal use of plastic in the packaging.
Great company, highly recommended.

These kits are incredible, great experience!
These kits are so good that I can’t wait to get my next one! I ordered the yellow oyster growing kit and they grew quickly and were very easy to maintain until we harvested this evening! The instructions were really clear and I’m so impressed with how smooth the whole process was. I’d 100% recommend for anyone looking to grow mushrooms at home. We’ve just followed the recipe to make the yellow oyster mushroom risotto and it’s delicious.
