Thank you for your feedback. To ensure accuracy for anyone reading, I want to clarify what was included in your enrollment.

The program you registered for on August 15 is a 65-hour accredited certification, which includes comprehensive video lectures, practical labs, assignments, quizzes, manual, and a proctored board exam. You also received lifetime access so you can complete the full curriculum at any time.

Our records show that only two videos were viewed and the study manual was downloaded. More than 90% of the course—including the training, labs, and exam—was never accessed.

This certification is widely recognized by law enforcement, military, and government agencies, and thousands of professionals successfully complete the exact same program each year.

We are always available to support you in finishing the training you enrolled in. If you would like assistance in navigating the curriculum or restarting your progress, our team is ready to help.

Amazing Experience

McAfee Institute has been such an amazing experience for me. The programs are really well put together, and they teach you exactly what you need to know to stand out in your field. The instructors are super supportive and make everything so easy to understand, even when the topics are complex.

What I loved the most is how practical everything is—you’re not just learning theory, but real-world skills you can apply right away. Since getting certified, I’ve had new opportunities come my way that I never thought possible.

If you’re thinking about enrolling, do it. It’s worth every bit of time and effort, and the team there will have your back the whole way.

McAfee Institute stands out for their professionalism

As a police officer specializing in human trafficking investigations, the Certified Human Trafficking Investigator (CHTI) program at McAfee Institute provided me with tools and insights I hadn’t encountered in any other training. The course dives deep into the nuances of human trafficking cases, helping me approach investigations with greater precision and understanding. It’s not just about learning tactics—it’s about truly understanding the human impact behind every case.

The team at McAfee Institute stands out for their professionalism and genuine dedication to their students. From enrollment to completion, they were responsive and proactive, ensuring I had everything I needed to succeed. Their commitment to making sure the material was accessible and actionable made the experience seamless and empowering.

For officers and investigators tackling these critical issues, this program is an invaluable resource. It’s clear McAfee Institute is passionate about supporting those of us on the front lines, and I’m grateful for the experience.

McAfee Institute is hands down one of the best.

McAfee Institute is hands down one of the best decisions I’ve made for my career. I just wrapped up the Certified Expert in Cyber Investigations (CECI) program, and it was awesome. The content is practical, easy to follow, and directly applies to real-world situations. I’ve already started using what I learned, which is huge for me.

What really stands out about McAfee Institute is how much they support their students. Lifetime access to updates? Free instructor support? Nobody else in the industry does that. Plus, their certifications are legit—recognized by top organizations and the military—which makes them even more valuable.

If you’re serious about growing in intelligence, investigations, or cybersecurity, McAfee Institute is the way to go. They set you up for success, and I couldn’t recommend them enough!

Stay away

Stay away. For the price you can get the same training from better and more credible resources. I took one course and it was ok..Not worth the money. They want to have a proctor that takes control of your computer?! OH HELL NO! Especially on a government computer. I pulled all by folks off the training. They lost a tone of money and you can set up a proctor using zoom, teams, webex...

Thank you, Chris Kurtzhals, for taking the time to share your feedback. We truly appreciate your input and would like to directly address the concerns you raised.

The proctoring process is thoroughly detailed in our course instructions, provided both during enrollment and throughout the course. In this case, it appears the proctored exam experience was bypassed, as noted in prior discussions with our team. This makes it difficult to fairly evaluate the proctoring and exam process, given that the required steps were not followed. Proctoring is crucial for maintaining the integrity and credibility of our certification programs, ensuring compliance with the high standards set by our accreditation bodies. These standards are designed to ensure every exam is conducted in a secure, controlled environment, safeguarding the validity of each certification we issue.

To clarify:

ProctorU’s Role: ProctorU does not take control of your computer, nor do they access your files or sensitive information during the exam. Their role is strictly to observe the exam environment, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. If technical assistance is needed at any point, ProctorU can provide troubleshooting support to ensure the exam runs smoothly. Upon completion, their software is removed from your device. These procedures are standard across universities and certification bodies, preserving exam integrity.

Government Computers: We clearly state on the enrollment page, in the agreement, and throughout the course that government-issued computers should not be used and are prohibited for use in our programs. This policy is in place to prevent security conflicts and protect sensitive information. Government devices, especially in law enforcement, often have strict security protocols and may contain classified data. Using these devices for non-official activities, such as proctoring, could inadvertently expose sensitive information during the exam, posing serious security risks. As a leader in the government sector, you are aware of the need to safeguard sensitive data, which is why we strictly prohibit their use for non-official purposes. These rules are designed to protect both you and your agency from potential security breaches.

Accreditation and Standards: Proctoring is required by accreditation bodies such as the Department of Education, POST, NICCS, DoD, NASBA, DEAC, and Military Credentialing Assistance programs. Every major university and certification body adheres to these standards. Platforms like Zoom or WebEx do not meet the criteria for accredited proctoring services, unlike ProctorU, which is recognized for providing secure proctoring solutions.

Alternative Proctoring Options: We understand that ProctorU may not be suitable for every environment, which is why we offer alternative proctoring solutions, including onsite testing or using an approved proctor within your organization. These options are presented during registration to offer flexibility.

We are committed to maintaining the highest levels of rigor, integrity, and security in our certification process. Accredited proctoring services are not only an industry standard but also a requirement for any credible certification program. Failing to follow these requirements, or choosing programs that don’t meet these standards, raises concerns about the validity and recognition of those credentials.

At McAfee Institute, we are recognized by leading accreditation bodies, including the Department of Education, POST, NICCS, DoD, NASBA, DEAC, and Military Credentialing Assistance programs. Our certifications are trusted by professionals in law enforcement, government, military, and corporate sectors due to the high standards we maintain.

We look forward to continuing to train your agency while maintaining these rigorous standards. If you have further questions or need support with proctoring options, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Excellent courses with high quality content! This organization has multiple accrediting authorities that have validated their courses. It might seem pricey, but for government and private sector authentication, this is a great source of obtaining valid credentials! Numerous federal government bodies have vetted the content offered by this Institute (i.e. NICCS, under CISA), and rightfully so. Aside from the valid credentials, the content itself is outstanding and very edifying in all regards.

Mitchell was quick to respond to my concern about not getting the activation email. We traded ideas on how to solve. He kept an open mind about it as we worked on fixes. Really appreciate that. Sometimes key details are not always provided among other company’s support but Mitchell made sure I had what was needed. Thanks for that.

LinkedIn Connection Marketing Scheme

Same as another review, their senior admissions advisor connected with me on Linkedin. I accepted, as we somewhat share a professional circle. Then, she used my personal email to sign me up for marketing emails. Feels disgusting and scammy.
