Makita advertised a redemption in…

Makita advertised a redemption in Bunnings Palmerston North. A 5pc 40v toolkit that would come with two additional batteries on redemption.

I bought a toolkit with the exact same tools and specs - also the only one of these kits in stock in Bunnings - only to find out that the kit that qualified for redemption was a different model number (that wasn't even stocked in the store their reps had put up the promotion in).

In other words, they advertised an offer I was completely unable to redeem, because of a few digits difference in their model number.

I've contacted Makita who say it's "under investigation". Which is absurd, because why should their internal investigation have anything to do with them honouring a redemption they advertised under false pretenses?

No attempt made by Makita to satisfy someone who has over the years spent many thousands on their tools. Don't buy toolkits from these guys

XGT 80v concrete saw sucks

Do not buy this saw if you plan on actually using it. The saw drains all 80volts of battery after cutting only 3.5m in 100mm concrete pathway (with brand new diamond blade) to make matters worse after draining the batteries they are too hot to take another charge so it ends up around 2hrs between cuts. We contacted a rep who came out to try other batteries but same results, we returned the saw and have now waited weeks with no response from Makita and avoidance by the reps when called. We have over $2500 outlaid on this saw and the best Makita have come back with is that it’s good for cutting control cuts at 30mm, because of course that’s why we spent out on a 130mm depth cutting saw lol. We’ve now replace with a petrol husqvarna which is awesome, but still getting nowhere with a refund.
