I would not recommend Lightforce Solar
We’ve had their system for four years. The initial sales and installation process was professional and for several years the system performed well. I strongly recommended Lightforce to friends, some of whom subsequently became customers.
On 5 February this year, just before a long weekend, the system failed. TV, internet, and some lighting were offline. Critical circuits were restored after the weekend, but the full system remained non-functional until 16 June – a period of over four and a half months. It’s now back and running, with a smaller inverter and larger battery.
During that time, communication from Lightforce was inconsistent. An offer of upgraded units was made and later withdrawn. Support responses were often delayed or absent. We have not received compensation for increased power costs during the outage, which totalled almost $800. I am still awaiting key information regarding warranty periods and access to data prior to February.
I can no longer recommend Lightforce based on this experience. While the local Nelson team remains professional and helpful, overall support has proven inadequate.
One observation for prospective customers: before committing, I would suggest running a quick independent check on after-sales support. When I later asked major AI search assistants“What is Lightforce Solar’s reputation for after-sales support?”, the responses closely matched my own experience. That surprised me, but also confirmed that this pattern is not isolated. That kind of check takes seconds and may reveal more than sales materials ever will.
