Steve and Lorraine have looked after our pensions since Stephan Sumner retired. Lorraine responds very quickly to my emails. Steve is very easy to talk to and explains pensions etc very well.

I have been expertly guided by Steve Cattle on the planning of my early retirement. We have had meaningful and productive conversations focusing on what matters and what is suitable for my circumstances he has handled my funds with the utmost professionalism and have total trust that my fund is in great hands leaving me to enjoy retirement as planned.

Steve Cattle and Lorraine Raine have looked after our Trust funds since I first met Steve when he joined Explore Wealth.
He effectively took over our affairs which, up until that time had been handled by Stephen Sumner.
Steve is always readily available by telephone/e-mail and carries out an in-depth face-to-face yearly review where he is able to advise on any changes necessary to safeguard our returns from the four fund managers.
Steve has also provided valuable advice in the sale of a second home in 2021.
Steve is always easy to speak to and can explain complex financial matters in simple and concise language.

I first approached Explore Wealth back in 2020 to get advice on early retirement and pension options. I was introduced to Steve Cattle who subsequently provided me with the options I had available. Throughout the changes in the business since then Steve has been my Financial adviser. Throughout this time Steve has been excellent in all dealings. At every review my options were clearly explained which enabled myself to fully understand the potentials ups and downs. Despite some rocky years in the Financial world in recent years I have been totally satisfied with the advice and guidance received from Steve. A complete professional who has been a pleasure to deal with. Communications throughout from Steve and Lorraine have been excellent.

I put my life savings into the hands of Smith & Williamson in 2019 because my dad had kept his 400k+ fund with them for years and it grew nicely for him. In the meantime, S&W were taken over by Evelyn and the guy I was dealing with, the guy who looked after my dad, left. He was very approachable and I had his mobile number. When he left, this new guy took over and he refused to give me his mobile. The returns I got with this new guy were utterly abysmal It was as close to static as could be. So much so that at the end of 2025 I closed my account and moved to Irish Life and my fund has grown significantly since then. maybe the story might have been different if I had more funds with but I in the end I felt very badly let down. In addition to poor returns, they took a few thousand euros from me to closed my account, and called it fees. A very bad experience.

Thanks for your reply, I was constantly told that the value of my investment could go up as well as down, but the value of all the indices went way up during my time with you, but I always seemed to be left holding the baby. My only regret was that I didn't jump sooner.

The financial service, advice and help that I have received from Evelyn and in particular Steve Cattle over the many years has been top class and exemplary. I have been able to make clear and decisive decisions going forward through Steve's aid which has bared good fruit with my investments. This a public service announcement more than a review. Save your wealth and go elsewhere.

I transferred my pensions and savings to Evelyn from a large provider a couple of years ago. - they charged above average fees, but presented a good record and claimed a "wealth preservation" philosophy. During a period where the indices hit record highs and other providers (ISAs +11-20%) recorded double digit growth Evelyn managed about 3% - which in their annual review they considered "not bad", less than inflation or a high interest account. During the recent turmoil other providers dropped about 3-6% from their peak. Rather than this being Evelyn's strength they have dropped by 7% and my portfolio is now in negative territory. They appear complacent and incompetent. Please don't make my mistake.

Thank God for Daren O'Toole! He has provided me with sound finance planning and been at the end of the phone to advice me every step of the way. Evelyn have many internal "challenges" such as poor SLA with the IT department and inadequate mobile phone app. But Daren has even assisted in escalating my concerns and getting things done! I have been a customer for 8 years lost 4% of the portfolio during set up basically the market fell 4 weeks after I bought into the SIPP. Having said that the following 5 years saw some good returns but then the company converted from Tilney to Evelyn. Since that time performance has been poor and deteriorating. Account managers change they don't listen or understand customer concerns spouting only THE corporate message. All this time my SIPP is underperforming to the point that my "2% above inflation" SIPP has generated negative growth (-0.2%) over the past 12 months whilst global markets achieve ALL TIME HIGHS in the same period. The corporate response.... the management team acknowledge this miss, but we are now in the strongest portfolio position ever.

I am not paying you to ignore me or to acknowledge your mistakes I am paying you for expertise that you have clearly lost. This loss coincides with the Evelyn Take over and the Nat West take over pending I can clearly see where my resources were focussed on SHAREHOLDER PROFIT.

I am now in the process of transferring my portfolio away from these people.

Very disappointed customer of 20 years. I was with Ashcourt, Tilney, then Evelyn after last take over. Recently removed all funds due to very poor performance last 2 years, and fees 3-4 times market average. Customer service poor with 3 changes of key staff allocated in last year. Cannot recommend at all I am afraid.

They charged for services they did not provide, they sold me out of a fund, and bought into a new fund without any authority, wiping thousands of pounds off my portfolio. And still no response to my complaint after 5 months.
