Avoid at all cost. Stranded in Germany.
DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THEM!!!
Absolutely awful company who left my whole family including 3 young children stranded on the roadside for 3.5hours. You cannot contact them via phone. It always went through to their 3rd party Call Assist who had open questions about the start time of the cover.
The start date of the policy was 21st. We broke down on the 22nd with 3 hours short of being covered due to a 48 hour inception period.
All in the small print and incredibly misleading for a start but the lack of communication and ability to even contact them whilst being in a stressful situation was certainly adding to the upset.
They finally bothered to email back after 24 hours basically saying it's not their problem.
I promised them that leaves with me nothing but make absolutely sure they get the worst reviews on every platform from me.

Excellent service would definitely recommend this company.
Phoned for recovery
Phoned for recovery, didn't have to wait long car was dropped off a garage easy process.
Poor breakdown cover…
I’ve had breakdown cover for my 2017 plate for over 7 years and never had to use it with Dynamo. However my wife encountered a flat battery one morning and called for assistance. The wait was over 3 hours and on arrival the sub contacted local garage arrived with no testing equipment and advised me to take my car to Halfords. I was keen to know my batteries health in deciding whether to replace the battery or not, but this could only be done by Halfords. I did question why I had a breakdown policy when the service was slow and of poor quality. Not a happy customer.

They auto renewed a motorcycle breakdown policy without my agreement. Year one I paid £12, year two was £80 without my agreement.
BUNCH OF SCAMMERS AVOID AT ALL COSTS
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased a breakdown cover via compare the market. I never checked out the company as it was a quick purchase. This was a year ago. Fast forward to last week and they renewed my policy without my permission or warning. The email they said they sent must have landed in my junk mail. Either way, I asked for a refund the as soon as I realised that the money had been taken from my account. I thought getting a refund and a cancellation would be simple but they have refused to do that and they say it is non refundable.
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. They just want to take your money and they DO NOT care about customer satisfaction or care.
I pray I never have to use the cover because if this is the way they treat customers who want a simple refund, imagine if I needed help with an actual breakdown.
They planned to auto-renew( I never…
They planned to auto-renew( I never want auto-renewal so dont know how that happened). We usually pay annually. The email had in bold a reasonable price and then in small print that that price was only for the first month!!!
When I logged in to cancel, surprise surprise they managed to find a reasonable quote after all! I didn’t renew. It should be straightforward to cancel.
Autorenewal price gouging, sneaky and manipulative
I just received a stealth policy renewal email which is Dynamo attempting to near double the yearly price AND charge an additional monthly fee for breakdown cover! Outrageous, opportunistic and frankly this type of business practice should be outlawed in a functional society.
Claim process long and not a new handset
The claim process has been unduly long - my phone was stolen 4 July 2026 and I still have not received my replacement. NOTE the replacement is a refurbished model. I purchae my phone new less than 2 months ago for £900 and because taking so long to process had to purchae separately another. Complete shysters and my experience has been nothing like their website promises - it has not been quick and the replacement is not a new handset. Be extremely careful and aware as to what exactly this providers insurance actually covers.
Left me high and dry in Europe.
Left me high and dry in Europe over an MOT advisory.
I was unlucky and got a puncture in my rear tire on the motorbike. They refused to cover because on the MOT it said tire was flattening off. This happens when you spend your time on the motorway. Still within the legal limit of tread.
It cost me £1650 to get back home.
Many hidden charges
Many hidden charges. Policies will autorenew with the renewal email going to spam. The renewal price will be significantly more than the previous premium and the cancellation charge will be significant.
Taken money from account without any…
Taken money from account without any authority to do so but because I gave them my card details just taken payments of that without permission be careful people as I did cancel with them after my year but waiting on the complaint people to come back which reading reviews don’t hold much hope for
I bought 1yr coverage from them £30
I bought 1yr coverage from them £30, and the next year it went up to £37 unknown to me it was on auto contract so it will aromaticly rolls over to next year, I missed it and it went upto £37 , plus they started taking 7.50p a month out of my account.
When I stopped it they then said i would incur more costs..
The bank told me iv got no choice..
As I agreed by going on there 1yr policy.
When buying the policy iv had to agreed to their terms and conditions..
Which is auto roll over to next year..
Now im stuck with a very expensive policy I don't want..
Be very careful..
This is a deliberate rip off..
DYNAMO are not in my view honest..
Stay AWAY from them
Appalling
Appalling! We broke down in France on the way to our destination. Only to be told that cover doesn’t actually start until 48 hours after it says it does! Yes it was in the tiny print, but who expects to have to insure for breakdown cover 2 days before you actually travel. Total waste of money. Would definitely not recommend.
A VERY POOR COMPANY
I would strongly advise anyone to avoid Dynamo Breakdown Cover at all costs.
I broke down at around 5:00pm yesterday and my experience was nothing short of appalling. First, I had to wait over 30 minutes just to speak to a call handler. When I finally got through, I was incorrectly told that my breakdown policy had lapsed. I had my policy documents with me, clearly showing it was still valid, and I have since sent Dynamo copies of both my policy and my bank statement proving payment.
Despite having clear evidence that my cover was active, Dynamo refused to provide the breakdown assistance I had paid for. Instead, they told me they could arrange recovery only if I paid several hundred pounds myself, with an estimated wait of up to three hours. Having no real alternative, I agreed.
After waiting around two hours, they called back to say the recovery company could no longer attend. Their solution? Find another company that would take up to another three hours to reach me. It was beyond ridiculous.
By 9:00pm, four hours after breaking down, nobody had arrived. I was left with no choice but to abandon my car and find my own way home.
The whole experience was stressful, frustrating and completely unacceptable. A breakdown provider is supposed to help when you're stranded, not argue over valid policies, refuse assistance and then fail to send anyone at all.
Please do yourself a favour and don't even consider using Dynamo Breakdown Cover. Their customer service was dreadful, their communication was poor, and when I needed them most, they completely failed to deliver. I have never experienced such an incompetent breakdown service and would never trust them again.
*****DO NOT USE*****
*****DO NOT USE*****
Booked a month European cover insurance, added some extras which in the small print were for a year not the month cover I was buying
Had to pay more than the months cover to get out of these extras!
Will never use again
Terrible experience
Terrible experience, I took out a one month EU cover and at checkout decided to opt for a few extras which I assumed were also monthly and have been fleeced by them, turns out the add ons are monthly rolling with cancellation fees. Avoid these scam artists at all costs
This company are terrible
This company are terrible, don't be fooled by their low priced insurance. Their fees are insanely high.
I've had an auto renew policy deducted from my account which I did not authorise. I emailed them and an un-named employee replied saying its your fault... no help, no explanation.
The policy is one day old and they require me to pay £15 for their administration fee during a 14 day cooling off period.
What a bizarre and frustrating business model.... you are responsible as a customer, for administering your own account, however, as a customer doing your own administration you owe them an admin fee.
I argue I have not received any renewal emails (which they tell me is not their problem) from them and have activated a SAR.
