I've been using the BitBox02 for a while now and it's hands down one of the best hardware wallets I've owned. Setup took just a few minutes thanks to the BitBoxApp, and the microSD card backup is a much smarter solution than writing down 24 words. The device feels solid and compact, and being fully open source gives real peace of mind. Swiss engineering with regular firmware updates — highly recommended for anyone serious about self-custody.

I didn't know there were transaction fees for converting USD to Bitcoin.
Also moonpay was asking for a bit too much information for my comfort.
Overall, nicely designed UI it just the fees that are annoying. NOt sure if there's a way to circumvent them though...

My new Bitbox…
The obvious priority you place upon security and the promptness of your reply to requests for help. The only things I had some trouble with was getting used to the format for inputting text. However after using it a few times that improved. I also had some difficulty connecting the device to my PC because the cord needs to be longer.

Good experience overall
Good experience overall; it works really well. It’s small and compact, but performs very well. Obviously, having to type the passphrase every time could be improved, but I understand the limitations. The fact that it generates entropy from a combination of different sources gives me a lot of confidence.

I ordered a Bitbox 02 Nova Bitcoin only…
I ordered a Bitbox 02 Nova Bitcoin only to be the primary key for my multisig wallet. The customer service team were excellent. I had asked if they could deliver to a UPS Access Point in the country where I am instead of a home address, and they said no problem. They double checked all information. They also contacted me the moment I had signed for the box at UPS, and asked me to confirm the package had not been tampered with.
The product works perfectly. It recognises the multisig wallet setup and it is perfect for visually double checking receive addresses generated in Sparrow (my Trezor Safe 5 doesn't display this information so the Bitbox is my primary key now for all transactions!). Very happy customer. I recommend. If you only hold Bitcoin, you should choose the Bitcoin only device.
