Amazing experience from start to finish, first time importing a car from Japan, at first i was very cautious being my first time but everything went smoothly, the buying to logistics department was really good and they communicated via watsapp. I was informed of all the steps and they kept in touch with regular updates. Car it self was as described. I would highly recommend and if anyone needs more information or has questions please do not hesitate to get in touch. I would purchase from this company again and highly recommend them

WARNING! You are far better off avoiding Carvector.

For me, their were two major factors of great concern.

Firstly, The final auction price. I exspect it was faked up to my max bid!
A few days before, I bid on the same car with a low bid, I didn't win it but saw that it ended with a competing bid of ¥2,100,000 it didn't sell as it was below the resurve.
Once I saw the car come up again, I increased my bid right up to ¥2,550,000
And "apparently" it ended for ¥2,548,000 ....? Really? Almost exactly the maximum amount I had authorised Carvector to be allowed to spend, but just a tiny bit lower to make it look like another bid.
But I already new that this exact car failed to sell a few days ago as the other potential buyer's max bid was ¥2,100,000 That is a long way off ¥2,548,000
And the worst thing of all! Is you have to pay Carvector directly! I suspect this is so you can never actually see the auction invoice with likely a far lower price on it than what Carvector force you to pay.
So whatever happens, if you put in a max bid, that is what you will have to pay. So never put in a really high bid just to guarantee that you win against the exspected far lower bids of the other bidders, you will have to pay your max bid!
I have also read in another review that they suspected that the so called final auction price was rigged and faked up to their max bid too.
And with USS auctions they do not make the final sale price public so you cannot ever! Verify if what Carvector claime is even close to what it actually sold for.
We all know how savage this sort of online spoof business often are, and with no way of keeping them in check, one has to almost guarantee that they do fake the auction prices. (probably thire main income)

However, their is one way to check and confirm the final auction price.
You have to bid on the same car through a completely different company against yourself but with a really low bid. You see, if you bid on an auction but don't win it you still get to see the final price!
Carvector would never believe you bid against yourself to catch them out.
If for some crazy reason that I am forced to buy from Japan again (super rare car) I will definitely do this.

Also, unlike so many other review writers I can clearly see that their profile pictures of the so called different people that take you through the process are likely fake. No you are not talking to some beautiful lady. They know that at least 90% of their customers are men so have that as their profile image.
Nowadays for all we know you could actually be talking to an AI. But I exspect I was dealing with your run of the mill old man after any cash they can get.
And by the way, they are almost all Russian in Carvector.

And my own additional problem was that they FAILED! to enter my Email address correctly with the shipping company, so once it arrived in the UK I was never notified!
This is extremely bad! As the port charge storage fees of £200 every day!
It was only due to a whim that I checked up on my car and I managed to get it out of the port with a still shooking fee of £800 but incredible relief as there was nothing stopping the storage penalties from growing indefinitely!
I could have easily ended up losing everything including my house!
And all that was because Carvector entered my Email address incorrectly.

As it was completely Carvector's fault, I informed them of their mistake and provided the penalty storage fee invoice that I had paid.
And their response was to send me to a different WhatsApp number apparently their complaint department. Unsurprisingly the profile picture is of another lady chosen or even AI generated AI human to make you go easy on them.
And the response was "Excuse me, I have been off with some ill health, I'll get back to you on monday."
They never answered my complaint.

I didn't exspect them to pay for all of the fees but some suggestion of taking responsibility for their mistake would have been nice.

Just buy local! Don't let Carvector take your money.

Ps: The exspected price of my car delivered was £15,000 but it actually turned out as £18,273 plus import tax and registration fees. Don't be enticed into a contract that you cannot get out of at the suggestion of a good price, it wont end up that way.

I transferred €20,000 as a refundable deposit to Carvector's euro account. I never placed a purchase order, and eventually requested my deposit back.

To my surprise, I received approximately 3.8% less than I had originally deposited.

Carvector's explanation was that they converted my euros into Japanese yen when they received the deposit and converted the funds back into euros when issuing the refund, exposing me to foreign exchange losses. Their own help documentation states that deposits are converted into yen upon receipt.

I find this practice unacceptable.

A refundable deposit should be held in the currency in which it was received until the customer actually places an order or explicitly authorizes a currency conversion. Since I never purchased a vehicle, there was no reason for my funds to be converted, and I should not have been exposed to exchange-rate risk.

The result is that I lost nearly 4% of my deposit despite never buying anything.

If you are considering using Carvector, make sure you fully understand how they handle deposits and the potential currency implications before transferring any money.

Clearly, my funds were used as a free credit line.

Even though i was skeptical whether to do this alone or via a local dealer, the whole process was easier than expected! I recently bought a Mercedes with the support of Carvector, and my experience was overall very positive. Tim and Christine were assigned to me, and they did an amazing job! I was informed about everything throughout the process – from the buying details and sales statistics of several cars to the final shipping updates. Their communication and professionalism were excellent.

One important thing I’d recommend to future buyers: make sure to calculate the full transport costs including taxes, as the final price for a Japanese import might not be much cheaper than buying locally. In my case, I also had to fix some things like the cabrio roof (not opening/closing automatically), suspension, and wheel bearing – so keep that in mind when budgeting.

While I was happy with Carvector’s service, I was disappointed with the auction and previous seller. The maintenance book, spare key, and manual were promised but never delivered, as the previous owner couldn’t find them. Carvector did try to help resolve the issue, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be fixed.

All in all, I can definitely recommend Carvector, especially Christine and Tim for their outstanding support and customer care!
