Good experience

Honestly had a really good experience. Super easy to use and everything is pretty clear. I got a reply from the doctor the same day and the whole prescription process was quick. Communication with the pharmacy was smooth and delivery was fast too. Best part for me was not having to book an appointment, and also being able to choose any pharmacy in Germany, not just in Berlin.

Review of Fintiba

Fintiba Plus is absolutely not worth it.

Used Fintiba for the second time, this time was a disaster. The fee breakdown made no sense, and customer service couldn’t explain it. Worst part: Fintiba Plus advertised cheap insurance with Mawista, but we got stuck with DAK at €139/month before even arriving in Germany. Couldn’t cancel, locked in for 12 months, and now paying €260/month post-graduation. Support was dismissive and unhelpful. Fintiba Plus is absolutely not worth it.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration, as the health insurance system in Germany is complex and needs a bit of understanding on how it works.

Depending on your status and age, health insurance type and price may vary. For example, students of preparatory and language courses can only take a private insurance while regular students (under the age of 30) should be insured by public health insurance. When you are over 30 y.o. and/or are not a regular student anymore you have a free choice to stay with the public insurance or switch to private health insurance (in this case, private health insurance might be a bit cheaper) Again, the price for the insurance depend on your status and age.

However, please note, since having health insurance in Germany is obligatory, all insurance providers in Germany have similar conditions and price structure, therefore every person of your age and status would pay almost the same price for the health insurance.

We always explain this complex health insurance structure in our content (website, videos on YouTube/Instagram) to inform as many international students and expats about this topic.

In case you have further questions related to the health insurance system in Germany, don't hesitate to contact us at support@fintiba.com and we will be glad to explain you more.

Thank you for understanding & best regards,
