Deactivated for no reason. No apology. Now they have my data. Time wasters

I signed up and spent quite some time filling out my profile to 100%.

I then completed my first survey carefully, truthfully and didn't run into any issues (no disqualifications). I was halfway through the payout threshold and looking forward to doing more.

But the day after, my account was permanently deactivated. Customer support refused to give a substantial explanation other than "we reserve the right to cancel your membership, it's in the T&Cs you accepted".

No apology for the waste of time. Treated me like a fraud. You are literally just a number to them, like cattle. Zero courtesy.

I'm now trying to get them to erase the extensive information (including medical) I gave them in my profile, under GDPR.

Review of Complete Savings

Legit, great rates but clunky and painful user experience

I'm a quite heavy online shopper (eBay mainly) and have recently switched from Topcashback / Quidco to Complete Savings.

The good :
- It's perfectly legit if you understand how it works.
- A decent selection of merchants.
- The cashback rates are great.

The bad :
- They are clearly an old school company with a website rather than a tech startup, and it shows : it's much less convenient to use daily compared to their competitors. No mobile app, a slow website that asks you to log in EVERY SINGLE TIME ("Remember me" simply doesn't work !).
For example on mobile for eBay, every time I have an auction ending in a few minutes I need to lose 2 minutes logging in to CS, finding the link, which sends me to the mobile eBay site instead of the eBay app, which I then have to open manually (and pray that cashback works because the T&Cs tell you it doesn't if you do that). I have missed eBay auctions because of how slow the process is. It's incredibly annoying if you do it multiple times a day.
As a comparison, with Top Cashback you open their app, you are logged in and it's already open on the last merchant page used (eBay in my case), you tap once to follow the link and it opens the eBay app automatically. Infinitely easier experience ! Same with Quidco.
- Merchant Special Terms are often unclear, incomplete or contradict the generic terms (example: eBay, Ocado). Customer support is useless at clarifying them, they just repeat what is written. So you have to take a chance in some situations and try yourself with a risk of not getting cashback !
- Sending the "monthly offer" proof of purchase by email is a completely useless task that they could automate (since they track your purchases !), but I suppose they make it difficult on purpose so that some people "forget" to do it and end up paying the £18...
- There is a £250/month cashback limit, which is fine most of the time but you should be able to carry your unused allowance over to the next month, in case you make a big purchase once.
- There is no chat support, I haven't used phone support, but email support is very slow (7-10 days) and they have not answered a single question correctly for me ! When I ask clarifying questions about merchant special terms they don't understand the question and just repeat what is written. When I reported a technical issue (broken cashback/gift card link to iTunes store) their answer made no sense and it's still not fixed.

In summary, while Webloyalty seems very good at merchant relationships, they clearly underinvest in technology and customer support, which results in a painful experience for the user. If they don't improve this I might decide at some point that the extra time spent isn't worth the better rates, and go back to TCB/Quidco...

Hello Mr. Guérin,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We always strive to improve, and your input provides valuable insights that help us enhance the services we offer.

Currently, the Complete Savings mobile app has been discontinued. Regarding special terms, these are determined by individual retailers, not by Complete Savings. Each retailer may have additional conditions for purchase eligibility, so we encourage you to review these terms carefully before navigating away from the Complete Savings site.

Additionally, as stated in the Terms and Conditions, you are able to earn a maximum of £250 cashback each month.

Fantastic results, some bugs

Fantastic, unbelievable results.
Not giving 5 stars only because the applications interfaces and reliability could be better and need some more work.

Complete waste of time

Getting a quote seemed easy at first : no nonsense questions, affordable prices, a breath of fresh air right ?

At the end of the process they ask you to confirm you haven't had ANY home insurance claims for the past FIVE years.

If you have (like me), they don't bother asking if it was for £200 or £20,000, they just tell you "not a problem" but deny you their main offering, and immediately send you to their other "regular" product with an annual premium, and as many stupid questions as you'd expect from any old school insurance company (what is your roof made of, type of lock, etc).

In my case I've had two past accidental damage claims, both under £500, 4 years and a year ago. We're not talking about a £50.000 fire claim.

At the end of this second (very long) process, they simply told me they're not able to offer me a quote at the moment. The sentence was so terse and blunt I wasn't even sure if it was a permanent refusal or a temporary technical error.

I had my hopes up with this startup company, but this was a complete waste of time and an hour of my life I won't get back ! Will get a quote from "less cool" insurers instead, who will be happy to take my business as they always have.

Hi Renaud,

Sorry that we weren't able to help you this time. We do have very broad eligibility, but we know we can't help everyone and we're always working on increasing eligibility.

Hope you managed to find cover elsewhere.

Best
Jimmy

Innovative and informative

At the forefront of "personalised medicine". The core product is extremely valuable diet/fitness information, in well presented and easy to understand reports. The training program is useful too, but I wish it came as a native mobile app that works better in the gym (hence the 4 stars)
