As name suggests outLIER team full of liers blocked my account one day before payday and tell me they will pay my eligibile earning soon but it's been about 10 days no sign of payment they are running scam SCAM they are running scam a pure scam

Total Scam

They accused me of copy pasting, I'm well aware of the rule and was very careful not to paste anything. Its a silly place where you can get banned for practically no reason and they will witheld your payment.

I am an AI training contractor from Egypt. I completed all assigned tasks professionally and earned $170.00 USD. My account was closed overnight — just before the payment date — with no warning, no explanation, and no appeal process.

When I challenged this publicly, Outlier AI replied with the same copy-paste response TWICE: a vague "Terms of Use violation" with ZERO specific evidence. Their official position is that they "cannot disclose evidence" — meaning they can close any account, cite any reason, and withhold any payment with zero accountability.

Here is the question they cannot answer: If my work was truly invalid — why was every single task accepted and approved in real time while I was working?

This is not an isolated case. This is a documented, systematic pattern affecting hundreds of contractors worldwide — accounts closed consistently just before payment dates, followed by vague policy violations with no evidence. Two law firms have already filed active lawsuits against Scale AI for exactly this practice.

I have filed complaints with FTC, FBI, and CFPB. I have contacted major media outlets. I have launched a public petition on Coworker.org.

14 days later — still no payment. Still no real explanation.

If you are considering working for Outlier AI — know that your account can be closed the night before payday, your work declared "invalid," and your earned wages kept forever. No warning. No evidence. No appeal. No payment.

AVOID this platform.

I had a very disappointing experience with Outlier.
After completing tasks for about one week, part of my earnings was paid, but my account was suddenly suspended without any prior warning or explanation. My account has shown "Account under review" for more than two weeks, while my Outlier dashboard redirects to a suspended page that does not load.
I did not receive any email explaining the reason for the suspension or providing an estimated review timeline. I contacted the Community team several times, and the only response I received was, "We are looking into it." Unfortunately, no further updates have been provided.
Another concern is the quality of the review process. In my experience, some task evaluations appeared inconsistent and difficult to justify. I appealed one review because I believed it was inaccurate, and I felt that some reviewers lacked sufficient expertise or applied the guidelines inconsistently. This makes it difficult for contributors to understand how their work is being assessed.
Shortly after I commented on one of my reviews in the Community, my account was suspended. I cannot say whether the two events were related, but after searching Reddit, I found discussions where some users reported similar experiences. Others even advised contributors to avoid commenting on reviews altogether to reduce the risk of account issues. Whether or not these cases are related, the lack of transparency only increases contributors' uncertainty.
I had only received two reviews before my account was suspended. During a webinar, I was told that contributors are not evaluated based on only a couple of reviews, which made the suspension even more confusing.
What concerns me most is not the suspension itself, but the lack of transparency and communication. If an account is placed under review, contributors should receive a clear explanation, an estimated timeline, and information about their pending earnings.
While no platform is perfect, I found other AI platforms to be more transparent, more stable, and much clearer in their communication with contributors.
Overall, I believe Outlier needs significant improvements in communication, account review procedures, and quality control. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend relying on Outlier as a source of income. I am sharing this review simply to help other contributors make informed decisions. Fortunately, my financial loss was limited to $8, but the lack of communication, the uncertainty surrounding my account, and the absence of any clear explanation were far more frustrating than the amount of money itself. Finally, I haven't received any email to confirm the status of my account yet.

Hi! I found that this website is a chance, where I can talk to a human. I tried to argue with a bot in support channel on zendesk but it was prompted rigidly. I surely believed that my account was flagged incorrectly while I was hard-working, I was very surprised at that time. I would be thankful if you can consider my request because this is negative experience.

Update: Hi again, I sent the mail to outlier support through the zendesk ticket 5022617 but a LLM bot always replied with a rigid pattern. I believe that was a mistake from your normal observation and the permanent ban action was too bad for my experience, give a weird impression for an unicorn such as Scale or Outlier AI.

Je ne suis pas payé à l'issue et aucune autre mission ne m'est proposée. Je vais passer sur d'autres sites.

Sconsiglio vivamente l'utilizzo di questa piattaforma. Dopo aver completato la registrazione e fornito i miei documenti d'identità come richiesto, mi è stata assegnata una singola "missione" iniziale, dopodiché non ho più ricevuto alcuna reale opportunità di lavoro.

La criticità più grave, tuttavia, riguarda la gestione della privacy. Quando ho deciso di chiudere l'account per tutelare le mie informazioni personali, il sistema mi ha sistematicamente impedito di farlo: la procedura di cancellazione restituiva un messaggio di errore affermando che il mio numero di telefono (esattamente lo stesso usato con successo per l'attivazione iniziale) fosse "errato".

Dopo aver tentato di ripetere l'operazione a causa di questo bug, il mio account è stato automaticamente bloccato.

È di fatto impossibile esercitare in autonomia il proprio diritto alla cancellazione dei dati. L'assistenza clienti si è rivelata totalmente inefficace: si entra in un loop infinito con un chatbot automatizzato, senza alcuna possibilità di comunicare con un operatore umano per risolvere il problema tecnico.

Data l'impossibilità di rimuovere i miei documenti sensibili dai loro server in modo trasparente, sono stato costretto a inviare un'intimazione formale avvalendomi dell'Art. 17 del GDPR (Diritto all'oblio) e a preparare una segnalazione formale al Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali. Ho scritto alla loro email dedicata alla "privacy" (la trovate nelle loro comunicazioni) e alla fine, spinti da questa "minaccia" hanno proceduto a disattivare l'account.

I worked here for 3 years. In that time I was part of a variety of projects, often receiving high praise, becoming a review on many of them, and finally being given the "honour" if being an Oracle...

I recently started working on a new task in a specific project I cannot name for legal reasons, and it involves often waiting in queues for work to appear. This seems to be a trend amongst people suddenly suspended. That "time wasting" i assume they want us to turn off our timers because their systems are slow? I don't think so. That is micromanagement. We are switched on, ready, and waiting for our work to come through, we shouldn't have to toggle the timer on off, on off, when we are sat, working. We aren't able to do anything else while we wait for it to load, so this time should be paid.

I contacted them several times, over several days, to finally get a generic reply stating "as you are aware you have been suspended due to breaking community guidelines". My reply, what?

No, I was not aware, as nobody told me, nobody told me what community guidelines I apparently broke, and they refused to pay me my final amount.

After 3 years of loyalty to this company I am utterly sickened at how they just throw people away. There is a reason they are the worst rated established AI company online. Mercor, Alignerr, and Micro1 are 10x better and I suggest anybody wanting to join an AI platform, join them instead.

Stay clear of this company. They are disloyal, use AI 99% of the time to respond (if they do at all) say copy and pasting is breaking the rules and yet some tasks require it (like copying URLs etc) and consider sitting on a task that is slow to load time wasting.

They make you do hours of onboarding and don't pay you for it (unlike Mercor and Micro1 who pay you for ALL onboarding) they promise you hours and never come through, they pay really low rates for generalist tasks which is around half the amount other companies pay (per hour) and they have no respect for their workers.

Stay clear!

It's a good company with fair payment rates, but the banning of accounts is high for no valid reason.

Breach of Contract and Unlawful Withholding of Earned Compensation

I am writing this to formally document a severe breach of professional conduct and contractual compliance by Outlier AI. Having completed all assigned deliverables in good faith, my account was abruptly suspended on my scheduled payday, resulting in the unlawful withholding of my earned compensation.

This practice constitutes a direct defraud of labor and is a violation of United Kingdom employment standards and contract laws, specifically regarding unauthorized deductions from earned wages. Please be advised that I have preserved comprehensive, time-stamped video and digital evidence documenting my completed tasks, approved earnings balance, and the subsequent sudden account lockout.

Due to the company's failure to disburse funds for completed work, I am formally reporting this matter to HMRC (His Majesty's Revenue and Customs) for a strict investigation into their payment and labor practices in the UK, alongside pursuing formal legal remedies. I strongly caution other freelance professionals against collaborating with this platform due to these severe payment compliance risks

It's been 2 months with them with skills they required on their own ads, not a single task ever appeared on the marketplace.

Complete waste of time

Signed up and told would be receiving $800 per week, never got it, the support were not helpful at all. After getting asked more, I logged into the app and it's very awkward to find things like settings and followings some links open games that are difficult to exit. I only have one login for this platform

Scam, I just created my account and finished my identity verification then started the only task that was available on my dashboard, right after completing the aether S2S assessment the page froze and then the website started refreshing itself with blank screen, after I sent the support an email to ask for help they said I was banned and they can't say the reason! While the ban is permanent and the decision is final!! Don't waste your time with this nonsense.
Edit: the "cheating" that they refer to is just me copying my own text from one box to another because I filled the wrong boxes at the beginning, this is a joke company for real. not only a waste of time, they will disrespect you and make up rules that don't make sense just to ban you. If you read other 1 star reviews you will see what I mean. The support is useless and won't fix your problem regardless of how hard you try to explain. Punch of clowns

Worked on outlier for about a week, had a good score of 3.68. I even got invited to work as an auditor, then suddenly i got suspended. No explanation, only AI generated automated replies. If you can check and provide further details that'd be awesome, thanks.

The response provided on 09.07.2026 indicates that my review posted on 1 July 2026 was either never read or was not considered worth reviewing.
At the moment, I do not have access to the project-specific feedback section, so how am I supposed to share my feedback?
Furthermore, AI models continue to improve in their ability to reason about cases like this. When I asked an AI to evaluate my situation, it responded:
"AI evaluation of this case highlights that a consistently high performance rating strongly contradicts the platform's decision. Outlier’s vague justification is identified as a standard corporate disclaimer used to mask arbitrary or automated offboarding."

The fact that, when you send a mail, you get auto generated responses everytime, my account got suspended and i didn't get paid for all my hard work, i reached out and i keep getting the same generic auto generated responses, it's very frustrating.
They just want to steal money i worked for, worked sleepless nights for, talking about "fraudulent activities" but can't tell me exactly what i did.
