I've been game jamming for 9 years, but only as a musician and sound designer for the first 7 years. It wasn't until 2024 that I started learning programming for video games, specifically Unity. Other engines and framework are a massive blindspot for me right now.
All this experience and time, and I have never won a game jam whether as a solo dev or as part of my usual team. Winning isn't the fun part anyway, chasing an idea and feeling all giddy inside is. I'm looking forward to seeing what cool stuff or jank stuff people submit!
