Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience — final cost was more than double the quote.
I was initially quoted around $650 for a 2-bedroom move, but my final bill ended up being approximately $1,350. I understand that moving costs can change depending on the actual circumstances, but I was very disappointed by the lack of transparency regarding the additional charges.
A few things customers should be aware of:
Travel time was charged separately and added a significant amount to the final bill.
I was also charged additional fees such as a COI/document fee and a long-distance charge, which were not clearly explained when I received the initial quote. The price presented to me did not feel like the flat price I was expecting.
I provided the movers with food and drinks during the move because I wanted to take care of the workers. Unfortunately, I did not feel the same level of consideration was given to me as a customer.
One of my items also went missing during the move. When I contacted the company, I was simply told that they couldn't find it, and I was not reimbursed for the missing item.
My issue isn't simply that the final bill was higher than the original $650 quote. The bigger issue is the lack of transparency about the fees and how the missing-item claim was handled.
For a service as stressful and expensive as moving, I strongly recommend choosing a larger, well-established moving company with a good reputation and honest, transparent pricing. Even if the initial quote is a little higher, I believe it is worth it.
Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would choose a more reputable and transparent mover next time.

QST Movers LLC based out of Mount…
QST Movers LLC based out of Mount Prospect, IL moved us 7/23/26. The move went fairly quickly and for the most part went fine. They did over-use quite a bit of safety material but better safe than sorry. It added more costs than expected. In the end, the move was more than DOUBLE their initial quote.
I gave the company advanced notice they had to move a safe. They assured me they could handle it. I assumed they had proper equipment. They did not. It isn't a very large safe but is heavy. I told the movers it would be need to be in the basement of the new house and they assured me it would be fine.
In the new house, they did the following damage:
1) They put a hole in the door to the basement.
2) They damaged the new basement stairs we just installed a week prior to the move. They cracked the brand-new stairs in various places. I showed their lead mover the damage and he assured us that it would be covered in the insurance.
I contacted the company about the damage. They apologized and asked that I fill out their forms and send pictures. I completed their forms with detailed pictures and waited a few days for their response.
They offered a fair amount for the basement door damage. However, they offered $100 for the stairs damaged. Yes, a measly $100 to repair the brand-new stairs. They claim $5 per square foot was their calculation for the damage. You cannot get anyone to come in and fix it for $100 or even buy the materials needed to fix the damage. I tried to talk to them multiple times for a fair reimbursement for the damage. They would not increase their $100 offer.
I have tried to talk to their management but that was unsuccessful. I have tried to resolved this with a fair price to fix the stairs. I have heard nothing from the company.
If you use this moving company, do not expect them to fix what they damaged if things go wrong. I hope this review would save you the headaches I experienced using this company. I STRONGLY advise AVOID using this company ENTIRELY.
Response: The damaged 15 stairs are 40 inches by 7.5 inches each. Even with a simple sq-foot calculator, that is more than the $100 you offered.

However, we would like to clarify how our coverage works. Prior to the move, we provided information about the option to purchase Full Value Protection coverage for additional protection. Unfortunately, this coverage was not purchased for your move.
The $5 per square foot coverage referenced in your claim is our basic coverage, which is provided free of charge. Since no additional Full Value Protection coverage was selected, we are unable to reimburse the full repair or replacement value of the damaged stairs beyond the applicable coverage terms.
We understand that the amount offered may not cover the full cost of the repairs, and we truly regret that the damage occurred. However, we must handle all claims according to the coverage selected and agreed to for the move.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that your overall experience did not meet your expectations. While we understand your frustration, we want to clarify that our intention was never to ignore your concerns or avoid responsibility. We reviewed the claim and offered compensation based on the applicable coverage provided for your move.
We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience caused.
