We moved into a place end of May and we noticed pipes banging quite loudly after shutting off the taps, assuming it to be water hammer. So we called these guys to come and take a look, I was going to refill the air chambers but couldn't find the mains for the life of me. The 1st day they were supposed to come at 1pm, nobody showed up by 5, no phone call, so we call them and they say someone is on the way, then get another call maybe 20 mins later that person has a flat tyre and can't make it, reschedule for next day. Next day they rock up, have a quick look around, prepare a quote of 890 which I wrongly assumed was to fix the issue, no that quote was for them to inspect the issue and tell me what the problem was, supposedly pressure testing and "isolating mains", i'm not sure the guy actually turned the mains off because it was well hidden in a patch of weeds/grass and I was using water at home, never once saw any specialised "pressure testing equipment", he basically went around the house and turned the taps on and off a few times. He was here for about 1h 15mins total, and maybe spent 20mins in total in and around the house, and the rest of the time in his van preparing quotes. Eventually he gives the actual quote of installing water hammer arrestors at 2400, and that he was 90% sure it would work, in addition to the 890, at which point I said I was going to think about it. He then calls up his boss and immediately knocks the original 890 off and asks what concerns I have about the price, I say I'm going to get a few more quotes. 2 days later, I find the mains in said patch of grass, refill air chambers, and the water hammer is gone. So basically they charged me 890 to tell me something I already knew. Didn't offer to refill air chambers as an option, you would think it's the least they can do for 890, oh and of course they recommended replacing the hot water system because "it's old", for a small fee of $8-9k, irrelevant to the reason we called them.

I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.

I paid $1,200 for what was described as an independent roof inspection and was presented with a repair quote exceeding $23,000 on the same day. I was asked to sign the quote on an iPad while the inspector was present and, in hindsight, I did not have an adequate opportunity to review the detailed scope before signing. I was also encouraged to create an online 5 star review for a discount BEFORE any work commenced.

I requested the inspection report multiple times before receiving it. When I finally received the “inspection” report I found it to be very general and lacking the level of detail I expected for a paid professional inspection. In my view, it did not adequately explain or support the extensive works being recommended.

I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to not sign anything and definitely get a second opinion

Had my kitchen sink hot water tap failing to turn off i.e. tap would just go around & around. Water continuing to leak despite me turning off the water main. Contacted Irwin's Plumbing Adelaide who sent out a plumber called Henry (I should have checked if he was a qualified plumber or an apprentice? - Lessons Learned). I explained that although my house was built in 1917 the brass taps were a lot more recent. He turned the tap & agreed I was right! I asked if he could take the "covering" off the tap to look at the tap connection behind. He said there was no need as he could tell it was a worn thread. I asked him 3 times & he eventually looked. He then said he would go to his car & then give me some quotes. He also said that the dripping water was coming from the water tank in the roof, so I asked him whether he could at least arrange a "plug" to stop the water flowing, while we discussed the quotes. He did not even check in the kitchen cupboards to see if there was a valve to cut off the water (after he left I checked but no valve). He said he could not plug the water flow & it would just have to run until I got a new tap or the hot water tank emptied. Was my job now an emergency & I had to make a quick decision? He then returned & said there were 3 options, ranging from above $1,000.00 to over $2k. However, these were for stainless steel components, after I had already informed him that I required brass, for obvious reasons. He then spoke to his boss on the speaker phone & his boss said I had 3 options, exactly the same as Henry had done. During the conversation the word "brass" came up a few times but did not seem to sink in. I was then offered a pensioner "discount" if I took up one of the quotes. Finished the call. Paid my invoice (noting that it showed Integral Tradeworks P/L on the receipt?) On departing Henry said there was another option i.e. #4 (I thought there was only 3?), in that I could source the brass components myself & then ring them to install. Fat chance! My nephew visited the next day & for $15.00 bought a plug from Mitre 10 to finally stop the water flow. Hooray!

Josh was friendly and very helpful. He established the issue, explained what need to be done and did it efficiently. He cleaned up afterwards too. He arrived when expected and notified me that he was on his way. I would recommend him to anyone needing a plumber and I would engage his services again without hesitation.
