Gaurav Jain shared thisSuper proud day for all of us here at AU as we become the first small finance bank to get in-principle approval to become a universal bank!Gaurav Jain shared thisAU is more than a bank! AU is a mission! Today, my heart is overflowing with immense happiness and gratitude. What began as an audacious dream three decades ago – to take banking beyond branches and into the very heart of India, especially to the underserved – has finally, breathtakingly, received the grandest of validations from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). AU SMALL FINANCE BANK has received in-principle approval to transition into a Universal Bank! This is a moment steeped in history. As Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji rightly said, “India is not just a market. India is a mission.” At AU, we have lived this mission every day – building a more inclusive, empowered, and enterprising India, from the grassroots up. We are deeply grateful to the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India for nurturing an ecosystem where institutions like ours can grow with purpose and integrity. To our crores of customers whose trust has shaped us, our employees whose passion powers us, our investors and partners who believed in our model, and our Board of Directors whose wisdom has guided us, THANK YOU! This in-principle approval acknowledges not just our ability to grow, but to grow responsibly. It is a testament to AU’s strength in reaching widely, integrity in serving wisely, and resilience to shine across economic cycles. As we step into this new chapter, we do so with humility, responsibility, and the pride of a homegrown institution ready to serve - our people, our nation, and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. With this transformation, we reaffirm who we are - Gold. Gold in our values. Gold in our people. Gold in every life we touch. The sky is our canvas - and we are ready to paint it gold. #AUniversalBank #ViksitBharat #BadlaavHumseHai

Gaurav Jain reposted thisGaurav Jain reposted this"In every journey, what matters most is taking the next step - because progress, no matter how small, brings you closer to your goals."📈⛳ This has been my mantra, and today, it feels more meaningful than ever as we celebrate a monumental milestone: AU’s 30th anniversary🎉 and my personal Sanjay@30 moment🎊. As I reflect on this incredible journey, I feel an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. We’re not just building a bank🏛️ - we’re building a “consumer brand” that resonates with trust, innovation, and inclusivity. The road is not going to be easy - aligning the Bank’s vision with that of 50,000 employees, overcoming challenges, and staying true to our core values will require relentless passion and persistence. But today, I can confidently say that in the years to come, AU is poised to become one of the most fascinating stories✍️📜in the realm of consumer brands in the financial space. Why? Because banking has never been more regulated, secure, and patronized - giving us the perfect platform to turn this dream into reality. The demand is immense, trust is growing, and the future is limitless. As I look ahead, I’m filled with optimism. AU’s 30-year journey and my 30-year journey are one and the same – it is a story of resilience and perseverance. And this is just the beginning. Here’s to the next chapter, where we’ll continue to Scale with Sustainability, impact lives, and contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat. In our forever journey, the best is yet to come. ‘Badlaav Humse Hai’👣

After all the preparation, you’re finally in the room, and completely “on.” Listening closely, building on discussions, fielding unexpected questions, and deciding when to offer a perspective and when to let students find their own way. Then the energy comes right back: thoughtful questions, sharp debate, and fresh perspectives that challenge your own thinking. There’s something especially exciting about a classroom full of people whose marketing careers are still taking shape. This first week of Marketing Management at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management has reminded me how much I enjoy helping others connect ideas to real decisions. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of leading teams, too: creating the conditions for people to think clearly, challenge assumptions, and put their judgment into practice. Grateful to be teaching at my alma mater and helping shape the next generation of marketers. If this week is any indication, I’ll be learning plenty alongside them.

Gaurav Jain liked thisGaurav Jain liked thisSince joining Sierra, I've spent time with leaders at NEXT, Santander, Ocado and others across Europe, working through what AI transformation means for their business and their customers. You may have seen our co-founders' invitation in this week's Financial Times. It captures something I keep coming back to: your customer relationships are your edge. You can rent the intelligence, but you have to own the relationship. And you should only pay when a business outcome is actually achieved, not for the tokens along the way. The companies getting the most out of AI right now are the ones turning every customer interaction into context nobody else has, and watching it compound over time. So, bring us your hardest problems. The ones that span dozens of systems and take weeks just to explain, let alone solve. We'd like to work through yours with you!

Gaurav Jain liked thisGaurav Jain liked thisShe got pregnant the year she was up for partner at McKinsey. The advice she got was: don't. She made partner, then went part-time for five years. Jane Fraser joined Goldman Sachs in London at twenty, straight out of Cambridge. Two years of mergers and acquisitions. Then Madrid, then Harvard Business School, then McKinsey in 1994. She avoided banking after her MBA. The women she saw there, in her words, "were rather scary." Fortune described the era as one of big shoulder pads and manly suits. Her own verdict on those women: "They were very successful. They were brilliant. But it was tough." At McKinsey she got married, then got pregnant the same year she came up for partner. "I got quite a lot of advice, 'Don't get pregnant in your partnership year.'" She ignored it. Fortune has reported that the firm told her she had made partner two weeks after she gave birth. Her own memory of the call is that she was trying to get the head of the firm off the phone because the baby needed feeding. Then she did the thing that was supposed to end her. She went part-time. A 60% schedule. Not for a quarter, not for a year. For the entire five years she was a partner, until she left for Citi in 2004. She is honest that it cost her: "my own ego suffered a bit on that one, because you do see people who are more junior than you who are accelerating faster in their careers." She is equally clear about the return. Her clients told her she came back a different operator: "You're a much more empathetic person; you were just this machine before." What actually changed her trajectory was not effort. A Citi chief executive tore up her career development plan and told her to go and collect the experiences that would make her successful in a role, rather than the experiences that would get her the role. "It completely changed the next 10 years of my life." Then Jane broke rule after rule: ↳ Made partner in the year she was told not to get pregnant ↳ Worked a 60% schedule for the whole of her partnership ↳ Took CitiMortgage in 2013, the job nobody in the bank wanted ↳ Became the first woman to run a big-four US bank Her line on why she kept taking the broken businesses: "If something's not in great shape, it's amazing how you get left alone to fix it." In October 2025 she added the chair role. In July 2026 Citi posted its best quarterly revenue in ten years. Her whole career is one move repeated: take the business nobody else wants. The version you can run this quarter is smaller. Find the project on your team that everyone is quietly avoiding, and volunteer for it in writing, somewhere the people who decide your level can see that you did. --- ♻️ Repost this ahead so more women can be inspired by Jane's story. 🔔 Follow me Shivani Berry for more stories of women breaking barriers and redefining leadership.

Markets punish stories, not numbers. HFCL ran 240% in months. That kind of move is rarely about fundamentals. It is about narrative compression. Everyone prices in the future at once. Then the story stalls. No new catalyst. The stock hits a lower circuit at ₹257. The same pattern showed up with AVAV this week. Earnings beat. Stock fell 5%. Because the beat was already in the price three months ago. This is the expensive lesson retail investors in India keep relearning. A rally is not a thesis. A headline is not a position. Who gains here? Operators who entered early and exited into the frenzy. Who pays? The late buyer who confused momentum with conviction. In telecom and defence, real compounding happens over five to seven years. Not five to seven months. I back founders building category creation in deep-tech infrastructure. The patient ones. Not the ones chasing the 99/100 Google Trends score. Momentum is rented. Fundamentals are owned. #HFCL #Telecom #DefenceTech #IndiaStocks #FounderMindset #VCInsightsByAmit
