In 1953, SW Hart and Co., a pioneering plumbing company based in Perth, decided that the sun was the best energy source to heat water in Western Australian homes. As a result, solar hot water in Australia was born and Solahart geared up for expansion.
Since then we’ve built a reputation as a world leader in solar innovation and technology and invested millions of dollars into R&D and manufacturing. We’ve also installed over one million systems in over 70 countries around the world. We’re at Everest Base Camp and Antarctica. Even Nelson Mandela’s South African home had a Solahart system installed on the roof.
Today, after more than 65 years as Australia’s solar energy experts, we’re set to turn our brilliant past into an even brighter future.

Michael Badhan came to our home and gave us very understandable information about solar batteries. We were very impressed with his curtesy, professional approach and his patience. A good representative for the company.

The system works well and happy with the battery but the company in Lakes Entrance said they would set me up on monitoring and once the battery was installed they never came back to set up my monitoring. I felt they got our money and I was left high and dry. Even when I contacted them the women in the office tried to fob me off to look it up on YouTube to see if I could set it up myself. As this was part of their service that they said they would do, I felt very let down by them 17k thanks very much and you can set up your own monitoring. If we moved house and needed solar panels or a battery we would NEVER use the Lake Entrance crew they let us down BIG TIME !!!

Really disappointing experience with Solahart and at this point we cannot recommend them to anyone.
We first enquired in February 2026 about getting solar installed at our house. We received a quote, were happy with it and paid the deposit.
Install day comes around… no one shows up. No call, no update, nothing. We chase it up, get an excuse and the install is pushed back. Fine, things happen.
Second install date comes around… same thing. No one shows up and again, no communication. We had to chase them to find out what was going on.
By the third attempt (this is now over a period of months), we're then told there are issues with our roof and electrical supply that mean the install can't go ahead and we will need thousands of dollars of additional work completed. Obviously frustrating considering you would think some of this would have been picked up when the system was originally quoted, but again, fine. We just wanted to get it sorted and move forward.
We have since had our roof replaced and have been trying to organise the required electrical work. We were told Solahart had a Level 2 electrician who could complete it and that they would send us a quote. The last update we received was basically "we haven't forgotten about you, we're still waiting on the quote."
That was a month ago. Once again, crickets.
We have had to constantly call, email and follow up throughout this entire process just to find out what is happening. We shouldn't have to spend our time chasing a company to progress a job that we have already accepted and PAID A DEPOSIT FOR.
We're first home buyers forking out over $20,000 on a solar setup and associated work and it feels like once the job was booked, nobody cared about actually following it through.
I'm honestly hoping leaving this review might finally get SOMEONE to contact us and take ownership of the job.
They seem very interested in booking the work, but our experience after that has been terrible. At this point I would recommend literally anyone else based purely on the communication and follow-through we've experienced with Solahart..

Solahart were a pleasure to deal with, came straight out and gave us lots of options. Yes it’s a bit more pricey but you get what you pay for it’s a fantastic product. Thank you Solahart 🤗

AVOID Solarhart Mornington. I should have trusted my gut feeling prior to going ahead with the installation. I received mixed and lacking customer service prior to payment, with a lack of coordination between the salesperson and head office.
On the day of the installation, I was not consulted about where and how an additional electrical conduit would be run along the side of my house, up over a low roof line. It is untidy, runs at an odd angle and is visible from the street. The installer did not set up the unit correctly when done, which would have resulted in it not heating at all, had I not intervened and requested clarification.
When raising these concerns to head office after the installation, I did receive a helpful email from a manager, who agreed to look into what could be done about the installation. Two weeks later, they have dropped me cold.
After the message by Solarhart Australia below, there has still been no communication.

The installation crew were great however the management needs a lot of work after paying my deposit to install a 17 panel system with a 16 kw battery on the first day to install the system the electrician after checking my fuse box informed me that it needed improvement as the incoming cables were not large enough this could have been averted with a simple pre install check my new system now sits idle waiting for the cable size repaired this could have been rectified during the two months waiting for the install solahart should after the deposit is paid send a technician to check the fuse box that the insulation can proceed without delay better planning outcome would be helpful
Solahart Townsville were very helpful with our Solar Edge system repair which lead to system replacement. Very organized good clean work prompt service.

Quote received October 2025 for Goodwe 12.8 battery and 3phase 10kva inverter from Solahart.
Accepted November, Deposit, December
Installation April 2026!
The communication from Solahart has been very poor in verbal and email ,when i rang office very helpful girl passed on my concerns , no verbal answer back ,sometimes a email,no conversation with any electrician for the whole journey!only office staff. Recommend a complete review of their communication system.
One reason for the system was to have whole house back up in case of power failure ,i was assured on more than one occasion this was the case.
After installation by another solar company as a sub-contractor and the work was very good 5 stars.
When we started to use it at dinner time it blacked out for a few minutes, this happened quite a few times over 4 weeks and many calls to solahart.
System could not handle oven and two hot plates,
so much for whole house back up, when electrician
turned up and checked system said it was overloaded at 21. 7 amps so much for whole house back up.
Again with no prior communication from Solahart we received a email from them saying that a electrician had been to our house and installed a device that allows grid to kick in instead of battery!
We now have superseded G2 batteries and 10 kw inverter that does not do what we were told.
We were not told that esa batteries were available
Email from sales manager telling us that they can supply and install 25kwGoodwe 3 Phase inverter and this will allow system to run much more smoothly and eliminate issues we have and cost $3.600
Another issue we have is in case of a blackout we have to go out to switchboard and flick a switch to turn system to batteries, great for a 80-year-old
No one from solahart has contacted us re any of the problems we have faced or what they can do to rectify our concerns.
I am very disappointed to write this review as if we had been quoted the ESA batteries and inverter and have them installed none of this would be a problem
If the 25kva inverter will fix this problem i don't believe it should be at my expense
Michael

I placed an order at the beginning of June to have a solar hot water system installed to replace a faulty hot water system. The installation was cancelled the day before because of expected rain forcasted. It did not rain on the installation day. I was promised a call on the Monday to reschedule. No call came so i contacted them. They could not give me a new date imediately but promised a call back. No call back came. I called again and still i could not be given a new date but promised a call back. No call came. I then received my monthly electricity bill and it was $960 for the month and i called again explaining the urgency of the installation and complained. I was put through to a gentleman who promised he wold try to have a plumber come out and fix my old hot water as a courtesy while i wait. He was going to call me the next day. No call back. I then cancelled the order via an online customer service enquiry and an email to the accounts department. I had no response to my email or request for refund of my deposit. I called the 1300 number and was told that my email had been received and filed and that i would have to wait until the party run of the 15th July for my refund. I received a call from the gentleman who promised the urgent repair the Monday after I cancelled the order telling me he had arranged a plumber. I advised him I had already replaced the tank the week before and cancelled my order and am awaiting my refund of the deposit. 15th July came and went and no refund. I called solarhart on the 20th and was told that no refund request had been issued by the manager and they would look into it and call me back and i may get the refund this Wednesday. It is now the 23rd July again no refund and again i will need to initiate a call for my refund as it still has not been received.

Young Mitchell has just left after servicing our hot water system. He was very professional, courteous and extremely patient. As always we highly recommend Darren and Solarhart Joondalup. We couldn't be happier.

the work was done quite professionally although the date for the installation was delayed but the installation itself was commendable

Richard was great, came out and explained everything to me and answered all my questions, even on my follow up phone call, very helpful and informative. Office staff were great, easy process all round. The electrician was very accommodating and good communication. The boys that fitted it did a great job, very efficient and tidy. Good communication all round.
