LOST LUGGAGE AND RIDICULOUS COMPENSATION OFFERED

Hello,
On April 10th I travelled from Sao Paulo to Casablanca to Barcelona and one of my luggages didn't arrive.
I don't know how many times (probably around 40) I have contacted customer service via phone and Instagram to have some kind of update and almost never received and accurate one.
On Instagram I have always received the most basic templates ever.
Finally at some point I'm contacted by someone requesting to send an inventory of what was inside to help locating the suitcase.
On Friday I have received another call indicating to make the formal claim on the website to request refund as 21 days had passed, which I did.
Yesterday I received the compensation offer via email and I honestly felt offended by.
The content of the suitcase was around 2000€ and they offered around 480U$D, which is outrageous from my point of view. They have basically offered the same amount that is provided to passengers who have had their luggage delayed - mine as you can imagine has still not been located and they have no idea of where it is.
I have of course refused the offer and I'm waiting for a new reply.
Also worth mentioning that I have requested several information to customer service in order to proceed via legal and they have never provided.
I have never experienced such a bad customer service experience.

Please save yourself the headache of…

Please save yourself the headache of having to travel with Air Maroc. During the flight, foul smelling liquid leaked from the airplane's ceiling onto my belongings. The flight attendants identified the leak coming from the ceiling panel between the overhead bins. It was coming from the panels above and not from anyone's belongings. This happened because the pilot braked extremely hard, which launched liquid all over and tossed passengers forward and back. The smell was so bad that flight attendants put my belongings in garbage bags and I had to abandon some belongings on the flight due to nature of the smell and potential biohazard. The flight attendants took photos of my belongings and I left some items for them to discard, they created an in-flight report. Despite the flight attendants being beyond apologetic for the issue, Air Maroc never followed up on my compensation request online. It was their flight attendants that told me to file a complaint, yet no one answered for months. I have reported them to Canadian Transport Agency and have full intention to taking them to court if this is not resolved. To this day, we do not know what the liquid was.

Lost luggage, delayed flights, and unacceptable compensation

I would give zero stars if that were an option.

My experience with Royal Air Maroc has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. They lost my suitcase during my journey and then took over three months to respond to my complaint.

When they finally replied, they offered only $450 in compensation, which does not come close to covering the value of my lost belongings. This is completely unreasonable. I booked my flight from the UK, yet the compensation was not even clearly handled in pounds, adding further frustration to an already poor experience.

To make matters worse, my return flight was also badly handled. Passengers were left waiting at the airport for over three hours, only to be told the flight had been rescheduled. There was little to no communication or support throughout.

Overall, this has been a stressful and unacceptable experience. I would not recommend travelling with this airline.

worst airline

"I bought tickets and booked premium seats in advance. On our first flight, they oversold the seats, so we ended up sitting in economy. On the return flight, after an 18-hour delay from Cairo to Casablanca, they said we either had to go back to Cairo to then fly to Toronto, or we could fly to Montreal — and from there, we would be on our own, without any compensation. I filed several complaints through their website, but they closed every file without any explanation. Avoid this airline."

I had a pleasant flight with them.
I landed safely. No hitch. No bumps. No faults. Smooth travel.
I was on a 5-hour flight and we had a layover. I and other passengers were treated to the best 👌.

Their plane staff, pilot and copilot all seemed nice to us.

had a very disappointing experience…

had a very disappointing experience with Royal Air Maroc.

I travelled on Flight AT801 from London Heathrow to Casablanca on 23 December 2025, and my checked baggage was lost upon arrival. I reported the issue immediately at the airport and completed a Property Irregularity Report (PIR).

It has now been over 17 weeks, and I still have not received my baggage or any meaningful update from the airline. Despite sending multiple emails and providing all requested documents, my case has been ignored with no proper resolution.

The suitcase contained personal and sentimental belongings worth approximately £1,500, and I was forced to spend additional money replacing essential items during my trip. This situation significantly affected my holiday and caused unnecessary stress.

The lack of communication, accountability, and customer care has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Royal Air Maroc to anyone.

Unfortunately they are very racist

Unfortunately they are very racist. How can a flight from Accra to Morocco cost more then Accra to Montreal?
Why are the planes used to go to Accra so old? Why don’t they serve water and at least a snack from Morocco to Accra?
And the crew I won’t even start talking about them. Most disrespectful people I’ve ever seen. They will even laugh at your distress. They make you buy seats on an airplane and then decide to change the plane without advising and switch you to the back.
Last airline I want to use. Should be shut down ASAP.

Disgraceful Customer Service & Unresolved Lost Bag

The legroom on the plane was good and I liked the fact that there was a full meal service on a 3 hour flight. There ends the positives.

For convenience I chose to check my bag and that was a huge mistake. On arrival at Casablanca my bag did not come out and I proceeded to file a report. It was late at night and the operative was totally disinterested and gave minimal support. She looked up my receipt and advised me that my bag was still in Manchester and said it would arrive the next day and that I would have to return to the airport then to collect it. The airline refused to deliver it to my hotel in spite of there being a big sign behind the desk saying that if bags did not arrive, they would be delivered to the passengers door. My hotel was 80 miles away and returning to the airport was next to impossible. The agent became quite rude and simply handed me a copy of my report and moved to the next person in line, leaving me high and dry.

To add insult to injury, on my arrival at my accommodation, an email was waiting for me advising that my bag was actually at the airport and that I should return to collect it. Clearly the agent had not researched the case properly as the bag was at the airport all along and had been misplaced.

Next morning I made the decision that, rather then purchasing expensive emergency items at my remote resort in El Jadida, I would look at getting back to the airport to gain access to my property. The kind concierge at the hotel called RAM to double check that my bag was in fact at the airport. The hotel then provided me with a car and driver to travel the 2 hour round trip. At the airport, RAM lost baggage services again struggled to locate my bag and it was eventually found in a store room after I was sent to three separate locations. The hotel gave excellent service to this distressed traveller, and waived their charge for the expensive car. I elected to pay a fair gratuity to the people assisting me and I expect Royal Air Maroc to reimburse me.

I filed a fully documented complaint and claim form to RAM online and received an email confirmation of receipt and advising I would receive a resolution shortly. I later provided additional information due to limited space on the online form.

Nothing else was ever received from RAM in spite of several follow-up emails in their audit trail and no further communication or offer of compensation has been received. I have requested reimbursement for the gratuity paid plus a small amount for the lack of support, inefficiency and rudeness of RAM staff, together with the loss of half a day of a four day visit. The total amount was less than my entitlement to purchase emergency items.

In addition to the above the boarding process of RAM was in total disarray and boarding groups were completely ignored. On arrival at the airport, the plane came to a halt on the taxi way and in excess of 30 passengers jumped up and began to retrieve their back from the overhead bins. This was not challenged by the crew until the plane started moving again and continued to taxi for 5 more minutes. This was a serious breach of safety protocols by the cabin crew.

In spite of being a non budget airline, Royal Air Maroc provides one the poorest standards of efficiency and customer service of any airline I have used in over 50 years of flying. This reviewer is not impressed and has filed a complaint with The UK Civil Aviation Authority asking them to censure Royal Air Maroc

Exceptional Travel Experience with Royal Air Maroc – A Truly Outstanding Airline

My family and I (five of us in total) recently travelled round trip from London Gatwick (LGW) to Abuja (ABV) with short layovers in Casablanca, and Royal Air Maroc delivered an experience that deserves my clear commendation. From boarding to landing, the on board service was excellent. Every member of staff we encountered was consistently friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to passenger comfort. What stood out most was the airline’s remarkable promptness. All our flights arrived on time, which made our layovers smooth and stress free. My wife and our three teenage children were particularly impressed by the politeness, professionalism, and tact displayed by the cabin crew. Their calm, respectful, and well coordinated approach created an atmosphere that felt both safe and welcoming. It is rare to see such a balanced blend of efficiency and warmth. Permit me to mention the names of Alex (Manager), Claire (Asst. Manager), at your LGW Airport service stand, including a beautiful black lady whose name I forgot to ask, all greatly stood out. For me, they embody the excellence that Royal Air Maroc symbolize. They are amazing people. The meals also deserve special mention. The meals were tasty, well balanced, and perfectly portioned, or “just fitting and satisfying,” as my children described them. It is refreshing to experience airline meals that are not only enjoyable but thoughtfully prepared. Overall, Royal Air Maroc exceeded our expectations in every key area: service quality, staff attitude, punctuality, and in flight comfort. We doubtlessly look forward to flying with Royal Air Maroc again and confidently recommend your airline to anyone seeking a reliable and pleasant travel experience.

Disgusting staff at airport

My mother was travelling on air Maroc for the first time, I used to request the assistance with the rolling chair as she can’t walk and very weak due to age and sickness. To my surprise, I find her coming out pushing her bags walking on her feet. The decent staff requested money to get her bags and push her out , and when she told him I have no cash, he left her alone !! This is using the vulnerability of old sick people for 10 or 20$!!!! What a shame!!!! I am going to do an official complaint, if anyone had the same experience, kindly speak up! We have to stop this disgusting attitude!!!

Flew AT965 and AT200 from Barcelona to…

Flew AT965 and AT200 from Barcelona to JFK via Casablanca on March 30th. This was one of the worst travel experiences I’ve had, start to finish.
At Barcelona, gate staff selectively forced some passengers to check carry-on luggage at the desk while others on the same ticket walked through without question. No explanation, no consistency. The flight then departed nearly an hour late. At least four uniformed staff and a group of trainees stood behind the gate desk the entire time, laughing and chatting. Not one of them made an announcement or gave a status update.
Casablanca is its own disaster. We landed on the tarmac, bused to the terminal, cleared a second security checkpoint with a single lane open, then bused straight back to a plane sitting right next to us. The connection flight was also delayed, and no announcement was made. Staff offered nothing.
On the long-haul to JFK, my infotainment screen failed. I pressed the call button three separate times. Three times, crew dismissed the request without ever coming to my seat. When I physically stopped a flight attendant, they told me to use the call button. The one they had already ignored three times. They walked away.
Then they lost the bags. Half the flight was missing luggage at JFK, including three of mine.
Avoid Royal Air Maroc. Avoid Casablanca as a connection. The staff at both the airport and on the aircraft were inattentive, dismissive, and rude at every single touchpoint.

Customer services terrible long over…

Customer services terrible long over hour waits only to be told to submit generic online form with no clarity on if issue will be resolved.

Like other reviewers their system cut part of my son’s surname automatically so it does not match passport - risking being able to fly at all. Online form and hour waits is not suitable

Avoid Royal Air Maroc

Avoid Royal Air Maroc – extremely disappointing and stressful experience.
I booked a flight for me and wife i correctly entered all passenger details, but their system changed my daughter’s name instead of her full name. Because of this error on THEIR side, I was refused check-in and missed my £1000 flight.
What made it worse was the terrible customer service. Staff at the desk were unhelpful and showed no urgency, simply telling me to contact customer service. When I did, I got no real support—just generic responses and no solution, despite the situation being urgent.
I also know someone else who had a similar issue with name errors, which raises serious concerns about their system reliability.
Be very careful if you ever book with them—double-check your ticket immediately after booking. Honestly, I would strongly recommend avoiding this airline altogether due to poor systems and lack of proper customer support

They don’t even deserve a 1 star

They don’t even deserve a 1 star. They have me and my family stranded at the airport for 5 hours because they keep delaying my flight. As of now it has been delayed over 8 hours! I don’t trust them anymore and now I will miss the orientation and dinner from my tour package. Extremely frustrated with their lack of professionalism.

I am extremely disappointed with this…

I am extremely disappointed with this airline’s handling of my luggage. My suitcase has been missing since December 20, 2025, and despite multiple follow-ups, I have received little to no meaningful assistance or resolution.
From the start, communication has been poor. I’ve had to repeatedly reach out for updates, only to be given vague responses or told to “wait.” There has been no accountability, no clear timeline, and no sense of urgency from the airline to resolve this issue. Losing luggage is already stressful, but the lack of proper customer service has made the experience far worse.
This situation has caused significant inconvenience and financial strain, as my belongings were important and not easily replaceable. I expected a higher level of professionalism and care, especially after such a long delay.
At this point, I feel completely let down. I would not recommend this airline to anyone who values reliability, responsibility, or customer service. Travelers deserve better.
