Commendation to the people on site; slap in the face to the planners
Well, in Atlanta that return parking garage thing is hideous. There’s no communication to know what to do. even it would’ve been great if Hertz gave a heads up for what to expect, but they didn’t. So I pull into a place. naturally I am not gonna leave keys in a car. I’m gonna take them with, and give them to somebody. For that matter, why wouldn’t someone meet me at the car for me to be able to review the status of the car so I’m not billed for any existing problems since we didn’t have time to talk it over with someone.
so they assume that I’m gonna trust any average idiot that’s gonna walk up to the car to review it, without talking with me to go over what was there in the car when I got the car. what kind of a stupid confounded executive driven for their bonus’s concept is this? That airport method of return Has no approach to customer Focus at all!
Now that being said, all of the agents of Hertz that I had to communicate at the arrival and at the departure were incredibly helpful, kind, thoughtful, gracious, supportive, diligent, and compassionate. Somebody’s doing a great job of hiring and training people.
Because my flights were delayed…
Because my flights were delayed multiple times that day I didn’t get into Philadelphia until 1am. Even though I paid for my rental in full online prior to my trip they did not have a car available for me and charged me almost $75 to upgrade for my weekend trip. I told them that I would be traveling through PA, NJ, NY and CT for a funeral but was unsure of toll roads. I was not offered an ezpass but told they would send me a notice if I went through any tolls and the camera would catch the plate. I was never told of any extra fees that would be associated with this. Now I have another bill for another $50+ . This was the worst experience financially on top of what our family was already going through.

Terrible web site/reservation information and lousy customer service except for the lady that stayed Sun until 6:25.
So the only positive thing that happened on Sun.,8/30 was that the one lady (don't recall her name)actually stayed until 6;25 or so so that I could get the last vehicle - it was a Jeep Wrangler which is not the SUV I reserved. Our flight from Dallas on AA was delayed by an hyour, but when I made the reservation I don't recall seeing that the Hertz desk would be closed at 6 PM. I am with the Hertz Gold program, but I was told I have to be in The President's club nto ensure my choice of rental car ? My wife is disabled from a stroke so it is already difficult enough to travel. In addition, The employees the next morning were less than customer friendly although the male employee stated it was his 2nd day on job. There was a line of 4 customers and the 2 other employees looked like they could care less or busy with their own duties.

They gave me a different car from the one I had booked, explaining that it was a better deal. I had reserved an EV, but they gave me a hybrid instead, saying it had a full tank of fuel, while the EV only had about half a battery charge at the time. They also mentioned that the hybrid had more trunk space, but that was not important to me.
However, the car was extremely dirty, and the fuel tank was not actually full, even though I returned it with a full tank.
I already have very low expectations when renting cars from Hertz in the U.S. I choose Hertz mainly because they have many locations and good car availability, but the quality has consistently been poor—whether in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, or Wallingford.
