Guitar.co.uk | Merchant City Music Reviews

After seeing a Reverend Roundhouse H90 for sale on another website. I called up MCM and asked for a price match.
Triple win
1. Got the guitar and the finish I wanted for the same price as the other site.
2. Got the guitar delivered free to the Scottish highlands
3. Had a nice chat with Richard about Reverend guitars.

Great Service, quick delivery. The guitar was double boxed and playable out of the box.

Second experience with Merchant City Music and get more impressed every time.

Great customer care. Double boxed well packed guitar. Richard from the shop called me following up online order to check requirements for set up and delivery preferences. guitar has been checked and came with a great set up. Well done guys.

Awesome customer service .
Thanks Richard.

Great service all round. Phoned to ask a few questions about a 12 string guitar and the sales person was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Placed my order that afternoon and the guitar was delivered to me next day.

Very happy with the instrument, was set up and intonated perfectly

5 stars, highly recommend this shop, will definitely buy from them again.

Gretsch Electromatic Jet Baritone. I ordered the guitar on a Friday and it was delivered the next day as promised, (Saturday, with no extra charge). The guitar was well packaged and nicely set up, so I really can't praise Merchant City Music highly enough for their service and delivery. Great guitar, by the way, if you're thinking of getting one.

Possibly one of the best guitar shops in UK.
I popped in store around March to try out and buy a Jet JS-400 S-style guitar as a knee-jerk reaction to the FMIC lawsuits. Not only did they let me try several, I had a chat with the seller and they praised the quality control of the brand, and also presented me with their Sister brand Spira which I wasn't aware of. They didn't have the specific colour I wanted in store, but graciously ordered it for me for collection (and as I don't live in Glasgow I did ask if I can come only on Saturdays), to which was told no problem. They do have an in-shop technician. Indeed all of the Jet Guitars were superb for the price point, and the one I got needed no setup whatsoever. It is rare to buy a sub £600 guitar and not have to relevel the frets or correct some minor woodwork of sorts. The box was opened, so they did inspect the guitar before handing it to me. I also specified that i wanted to convert the HSS into a SSS, to which they warned me that the scratchplate does not use standard Fender drill templates, and offered to order a new SSS Jet scratchplate for me for another £15. An absolute no-brainer, and sharp as a tack! I did ask if the routing was HSH or HSS as a curiosity item, and upon not knowing the seller also very graciously took a PH2 to remove the scratchplate and have a look himself, which I really didn't expect.
The shop itself is very tidy, and there's bound to be an acoustic or electric gem you will find. I also remember having bought some small parts off their eBay store a few years ago, no issues there either. Now I consult their website as a first port of call when I'm looking for gear. I hope you can afford to stay in business, as it would be a big loss for Glasgow otherwise.

Great guitar, fast delivery, and excellent service.Arrived in perfect condition and ready to play.Highly recommended.

Top quality partner: top handling, kindest service possible, expert knowledge and passionate about their gear. Safe packaging. Fast delivery - wherever, almost.
Absolutely trustworthy.
Anytime again. Quite soon.

As always the service is great with clear communication, all commitments fulfilled, and everything arriving on time, and securely and safely packaged. Never any concerns about ordering from them and I can definitely recommend them.

I have just completed a purchase from Merchant City Music and the whole experience was excellent and professional. I asked questions and was given straight and clear answers. The guitar I ordered had a long delivery date, but a B-Stock version became available and I was contacted and offered it, having been provided with a comprehensive set of photographs to show the (almost perfect) condition of the guitar. The delivery was very quick and the guitar was excellently packaged.

Quick service for a difficult to get item in UK. Price was competitive!

I bought my fourth Reverend soft spring from Merchant City Music last week. They are such an improvement over the original stiff Bigsby spring on a Gretsch or an Ibanez jazzer. The feel and control of the arm is greatly improved. Possibly the arm sits a little higher compared with before but that is a small price to pay. Terrific product 👌

Good service.

Delighted with my purchase of an Adam Black acoustic travel guitar.
Item arrived as expected the next day in perfect condition and set-up to play straight out of the box.
Excellent service and I would have no hesitation in purchasing from them again in the future.

Fast delivery of products. Exactly what I was looking for and well represented on web site

Good service and I got exactly what I requested.

First time ordering from these guys, and I cannot overemphasise the great customer service I received, particularly from Peter. From enquiry to sale in a little under 2 hours. Quick responses and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back in future for further purchases!

Fabulous odds for the prizes on offer, real fun 😊😁

Great service from the guys at Merchant city music in Glasgow. They really were very knowledgeable about the guitars and were still giving me different ones to try out even though there was only a few minutes until they were closing. I ended up buying a fantastic Ibanez rg565 in electric blue and have been on it everyday since I bought it. They had the best price on this guitar as well when I checked around, so great service and prices. Would recommend if you are looking for a new guitar.

I collect Michael Kelly guitars, and have bought 3 guitars now. Merchant City Music always use DPD for delivery, and every one is perfectly packaged and delivered undamaged. Cannot fault them. Recommend 100%.
