TLDR: "customer service" does not exist. If you have a problem with your order, you're on your own to resolve it.
Customer service is non-existent. You are expected to contact the seller directly to resolve issues, and if the seller ignores you, AliExpress does nothing. You will be told by AliExpress "don't worry, stay happy" and then "be assured this is handled. You will get email within 48 hours." Then, 24-48 hours later, you will get another email telling you to contact the seller.
I have had 2 issues with purchases. The first was receiving a completely shattered set of colored pencils. I requested a replacement and provided many photos of the problem. My replacement set request was denied. I was told to contact the seller. The seller offered me about a 15% refund for my order. The set was useless, broken. Then the seller said I needed to use a different sharpener (I had tried 4 different kinds). Then the seller offered about a 20% refund, which still wasnt satisfactory because the set was unusable. The seller then said the pencils are designed to be brittle! Lol! I gave up and requested a refund for this set, and another set I had purchased because I was not prepared to deal with this seller anymore. Only after I requested the second refund and agreed to return both sets did the seller offer a full refund on the first set. At that point I had already boxed up the return and am done giving my money to someone who won't support their customers or products.
The other order was for watercolor paints. I ordered 4 tubes from 1 seller, 2 tubes from another, 1 tube from another, and 1 more tube from yet another seller. I would have preferred to buy everything from one place but it wasn't an option. My 4 separate paint orders were shipped to a consolidation center and put in one package. When my order arrived, 1 tube of paint was missing from the seller I bought the 4 tubes from. I sent the seller a message to let them know. A day later they replied "we will check and get back to you".. it has been 2 days, no response. I contacted AliExpress Customer service and asked them to arrange just sending me the missing tube of paint and got the same "please be happy! I assure you this will be handled. I send this request to escalation team. Wait 24-48 hours for email" well.. no surprise, I get an email saying they need more evidence of the missing item. How do you do that? I literally took a picture of what I received, put a sticky note with "missing paint should be here", photos of packaging and sent them in. Now I am waiting another 24-48 hours for a response. Which I know will lead to nothing or them telling me to return the item, the missing item... am I supposed to send them an empty package of air with a note "this is the missing item you never sent me"?
When a shipment and order goes well, its fine. When you have issues or damage or missing items, AliExpress is an absolute nightmare.
I would not be surprised if there are problems with my returns as well, despite them being approved and packaged correctly.
These 2 experiences are enough for me to write this review and also never use AliExpress again.
People considering this platform should be aware of how bad/non-existent the customer service is. Sellers don't seem to care either.
In response to the "canned" reply from AliExpress: you couldn't possibly know which order I was talking about because I am using a different email address on here. And you asked for more information and my order number.. which one? This review talks about 2 separate orders. Yet another fine example of their customer service claiming to want to help. It would almost be funny if they weren't blatantly taking customer's money and giving them the runaround.
Second update: AliExpress has also now sent me an email telling me they are going to mark my order as complete and to contact them if there was a problem with my order... which I already did (18 photos of missing product sent).. and according to their reply here there "well aware if the issues" ... clearly not.
Update again: They now say they've ‘officially escalated’ my case, despite having already told me previously that it had been escalated. The status visible in the app has not shown any substantive resolution. Notice how, yet again, they are asking me to wait 1-2 days for a response. Everything is always wait 1-2 days and you get no results except for being asked to wait another 1-2 days. Maybe my great-great-great grandchildren will eventually see the refund come through. I'm doubting I ever will, not in my lifetime anyway.

I just bought a wifi camera from AliExpress. It did not work properly, so I requested a return. Five minutes after having provided a video that showed/proved one of its main issues, my request was turned down. I shall never buy anything from AliExpress again!
Update: After having received the email from AliExpress (as shown as their response), I appealed the turn down. I put a lot of work into it, and provided a video and several new pictures showing/proving the issues I complained about. They once again turned down my request for a return. My conclusion is that I consider it VERY HARD to get AliExpress to accept a return of a product.

Be careful ordering multiple items from this company. My recent experience was an order for 5 car parts , 3 of which were seconds and 5 tube of loctite threadloc only 2 were dispatched. AliExpress customer service were useless. I sent photographs and evidence and they did nothing. Poor show. In future if I order at all! I will only order 1 of each item. I can’t afford to waste my hard earned money and have a con like this perpetrated on me. BEWARE!!!

Reply to AliExpress Choice Customer Service
Thank you for proving my point with this exact copy/paste standard reply.
You ask for my order number via your form? The case is ALREADY fully documented inside your own system with photos, video evidence and chat logs. Asking me to start over proves you haven't even read the case. This is not customer service, it's delay tactics.
Let's talk about your policy for damaged goods:
1. You require the customer to return a broken/defective item to China AT THE CUSTOMER'S OWN EXPENSE. A return shipment often costs more than the product itself. Your policy is intentionally designed to make customers give up.
2. You demand endless photo and video proof, but even with crystal clear evidence you still reject the claim.
3. You violate EU and Norwegian Consumer Law. In Norway we have a 2-year right to complain for manufacturing defects. The SELLER is responsible for return costs for defective goods. Your policy illegally puts all risk and cost on the buyer.
This is not "not the experience we want you to have". This IS your business model.
This is exactly why people should shop at local stores in Norway - No dropshipping, fast delivery from Norway, and a real warranty that actually works. Like many stores.
I've will actually start a company in Norway.
I will never shop at AliExpress again until you change this system that punishes honest customers.
Order is documented under Order:
- 3075958315468217
- 3075754382158217
- 3075472362948217
- 3075039686638217
- Everything is there if you actually bother to look.
Stop with the copy/paste bot replies. You already have all documentation in your dispute system.
Your damaged goods policy is: Received a broken item? Pay $40 shipping yourself to return a $15 item to China. That's not a return policy, that's a scam designed to make customers give up.
Under Norwegian law, the seller must cover return costs for defective goods. You are violating consumer law.
This reply only proves my review is 100% correct.
`This case will also be reported to Forbrukertilsynet (Norwegian Consumer Authority) and ECC Norway for violating EU consumer rights.
Disappointed customer for
12 year buying from Aliexpress.

I bought a laptop early 2025 which proved less than ideal. I communicated with seller about the issues - non-NZ power supply with extremely short cord, short battery life off charge and price overcharge. Iwas fobbed off by the seller. Unfortunately, I did not use this much last year as I was travelling and this year (out of warrantee), the laptop is quite dangerous. Despite paying for 3rd party report, AliExpress refuse to acknowledge this. I have been a customer for >10 year and have never returned an item or had any refund previously.

For over seven years, I was a loyal and frequent customer of AliExpress. However, my most recent experience exposed the reality of their customer service and supposed buyer protection, permanently ending my relationship with the platform.
The Issue:
I purchased an item for €20. When it arrived, it did not match the product description at all. I promptly opened a dispute, providing clear photos and videos documenting the discrepancy.
The Unacceptable Support Response:
* Customer service demanded that I return the item at my own expense, which would cost €100 in international shipping—five times the value of the item itself.
* They offered store coupons instead of a monetary reimbursement to cover the return shipping costs, which was completely unreasonable.
* I escalated the matter over ten consecutive times trying to reach a fair resolution, but only received automated replies, stalling, and a total disregard for buyer protection.
Resolution:
When it became evident that AliExpress would not resolve the issue, I filed a chargeback dispute directly through my bank. I submitted all supporting evidence, including photos, videos, and chat transcripts.
* The bank initiated a 21-day review period.
* After 21 days, my money was fully refunded, backed by EU consumer and banking protections, without any assistance from AliExpress.
As soon as the refund was settled, I permanently deleted my account and decided never to use the service again.
Advice for Buyers:
If a platform refuses to address a legitimate issue, remember that local consumer protection laws and bank dispute mechanisms (particularly within the EU) hold international sellers accountable. Do not hesitate to file an official bank dispute with proper documentation.

Really bad company, they promise that they will send money back, but nothing happens, I have now waited 3 months for a package.
I would definitely advise everyone not to do business with this scam company.
They write a lot about customer service, but if there is one thing they do not have, it is customer service, they completely do not care about their customers.

We bought 2 scooters from Ali express. Ali express on the checkout page encourages us to pay VAT and shipping directly to the seller itself - so we did, we paid 110 Euro VAT.
Then the seller cancels the order and we receive the rest of the money from ali back (but NOT the VAT). The seller then says hes shipped the scooters and want us to pay the rest of the money directly to him - we refuse because it seems strange. Until now (he promised the order would come 1 week ago) we have NOT received any scooters OR our VAT money back and the seller wants us to pay more money. On top of that - Ali express DOES NOT LISTEN and WILL NOT take responsibility for asking and encouraging us to pay VAT DIRECTLY TO THE SELLER!
ALI EXPRESS FACILITATES AND HELPS FRAUD COMPANYS AND CRIMINAL SELLERS TRICK PEOPLE OF MONEY!
WE WANT OUR 110 EURO - ALI EXPRESS MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY - THEY WROTE ON THEIR SITE THAT WE SHOULD MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT OF VAT DIRECTLY WITH THE SELLER!
we trusted ali express, they are reponsible for having SCAM sellers on their website. They must pay us back and then they can deal with the seller.

Purchased a cat litter robot, after using it for a month it does not work properly and is constantly getting stuck, I went to leave a review only to discover, Aliexpress only give 30 days to leave a review, do not believe the good reviews products have as these are not based off usage, only the delivery and initial use of the item and if it is a mecanical one you are not getting a genuine review of the item being used over a longer period of time, I willnot purchase from them again as the item I purchased had all 5* reviews but clearly it is not a good relection of the item.

Absolute Waste of Time & Worst Delivery Service!
AliExpress is the most unreliable platform. I placed an order on July 21st and paid online. The package arrived in the destination country and cleared customs by August 7th.
Instead of delivering my parcel, it was kept sitting in transit for over 3 weeks with zero updates. Then, on August 30th, they automatically canceled the order and issued a refund!
Holding a customer's money for 40 days, wasting their time, and then just throwing a refund back is completely unacceptable. On top of that, their live chat support agents are utterly useless—they just copy-paste automated scripts and refuse to help.
Extremely pathetic logistics and worst customer service. Strongly advising everyone NOT to order anything from AliExpress!

I ordered and paid for a SameBike CY20 Pro e-bike. The order was for a blue aluminum framed bike. After paying I was told only white frames left. I asked to cancel and get a refund. They made it very difficult, so I agreed to a white one. It came quickly, but the frame was not aluminum. Will they answer me, I doubt it!

I have been a regular and loyal AliExpress shopper since 2021, but their so-called "Buyer Protection" has completely turned into an automated bot scam. I have two custom orders (IDs: 1122113172532622 and 1122100922962622) where both sellers sent the wrong items.
Here is the absolute absurdity of their system: Both sellers explicitly admitted their manufacturing mistakes in the official chat and gave WRITTEN guarantees for a full refund. I provided 100% irrefutable evidence: uncut unboxing videos, exact timestamps, matched physical tracking labels, AND the sellers' own confessions. Yet, the AliExpress automated system blindly rejects my valid appeals citing "insufficient proof".
What exactly is "sufficient" if an uncut video and the seller's own admission aren't enough?
To make matters worse, their Live Support agents are blatantly lying. They manually reviewed my proofs, promised in writing that "this won't get rejected again," and then cowardly threw me back into the exact same automated dead-end loop.
I demand a REAL HUMAN from the Escalation/Higher Management team to manually review these two orders immediately. Stop using broken AI bots to deny valid refunds and scam long-term buyers. Fix this blatant fraud NOW, or you will lose a 7-year loyal customer forever.

Ordered a glass jar, £30, It never arrived. The only option on the Aliexpress is to contact courier, courier confirms it damaged the parcel in transfit but it's down to Aliexpress to is=sue refunnds. No further option to raise refund with Aliexpress and no response to messages. Complete joke. Will never use them again.

SCAM PRODUCT — BUT EXCELLENT RESPONSE FROM ALIEXPRESS
I ordered a 4TB external hard drive, but testing showed that its actual capacity was only about 63GB. The controller was identified as a “ChipsBnk Flash Reader,” and the device was completely unusable. I was also unable to format it, either through Windows or diskpart.
For these reasons, I opened a dispute and requested a refund.
I would, however, like to give credit where it is due: AliExpress handled my case exceptionally well. They provided the return at their expense, and I received a full refund within just one day of returning the item.
I was genuinely impressed by how quickly and efficiently AliExpress resolved the issue.
So, while I strongly recommend avoiding this particular product, I am very satisfied with AliExpress’s response and customer service in handling my dispute.

I bought an item and the sleeves were cut too small for a size 16. Trying to get help from AliExpress is an absolute nightmare. When I opened a dispute without photo evidence, (which I wasn't aware I needed). The system would not let me submit my dispute. I did however return the dress to the seller via UPS 3 or 4 days after receiving it. I was never able to get a real person, always an endless loop of unhelpful chat bots and demands for impossible proofs. Their "buyer protection" is just a marketing trick. Do not waste your money here if you expect any support when things go wrong. You are completely on your own.
I'm very disappointed in this company, because I've shopped with them before. My thing is that I sent the dress back and got very little feedback from the seller. I didn't get a refund, nor did I get the item back even though the item was returned before the policy deadline. This is not good business ethics!
