ATU/Ronsdorfer, Düsseldorf was the worst workshop I ever visited. Not trustworthy, never ever will I give up my car for repairs again!

It easy to buy

I booked a battery replacement online, but the wrong battery was installed by mistake. I returned the next day, explained the situation, and the staff immediately acknowledged the error. The woman at the service desk was very understanding, arranged a same-day afternoon appointment, and had the correct battery installed. They handled the issue professionally and efficiently. I'm very satisfied with their excellent customer service and highly recommend them!

One star off for the mix-up and the extra trip—but five stars for how they fixed it! 🙂

Absolutely useless company to make a booking with.

Update note: 1 month after their Social team responded below, and I have emailed all details, they have not responded to me. Avoid this company.

You make an appointment two weeks in advance and provide all the required details for the car's annual servicing. They confirm the appointment, so you plan life around this appointment.

You show up for said appointment, and they have not ordered the required oil filters for a very standard and common vehicle.

Completely useless. I would recommend to avoid and go to a company that gives a sh*t about the customer experience.

Staff at local location were professional enough.

Every time I go to Duisburg ATU in Asterlange Straße we get bad service. First time we bought tires they said wheel balancing and to fit the tires is included in the price we paid half of it so it can be ordered .then when my wife went to fit the winter tires she had to pay more because the fitment and wheelbalancing is not included it was an old gentleman with glasses that assisted us in the middle of our transaction he had to leave and someone else had to finish assist us .

When I changed my wheels from winter to summer tires the wheel nuts was so tight that when I tried to loosen the bolts from the wheels it damaged the wheelnuts and I tried to untightened it with a kraftstange it was tightened so hard it damaged the wheelnuts, I work as a Mekatronika at Mercedes and it was too tight.

We went there today to purchase winter tires we show the gentleman the tires we found online and had no stock only in two weeks times as he has to order it.

Then he suggested I take a cheaper make which he will have during the week or an expensive make which he does have in stock.

So I told him I came here for a specific brand I will wait , I gave him the size of the tires he had my details on the system as I was there before and I told him the tires I needed and I showed him My Fahrzeugschein to show him the size of the tires again and I said I want a certain brand of tires.

So I ordered the tires and Then he told me to pay half and we were standing there and Bonnie before us .
When we had to pay there was a long queue of people that were there after us waiting to pay and the gentleman assisted them first made us wait and helped the people that were there after us.

Then I paid and was very angry because he took my order and we go to the cashier make us wait help someone that came after us and then again assisted us.

When I got into the car we looked at the receipt and we saw he ordered the wrong tires for us after telling him 3 times what the size was and having my information on the system. So i went back and advised him of the mistake he made and he made me wait again to serve 2 clients before me . As we stood by the computer he said to me the only tires he could give of the brand I wanted was 80€ which was not in my budget and just looked at me as there was a long queue behind me and not helping me to buy something else in my budget.

Because of his rudeness I just cancelled the order this was not the same gentleman as the first time that assisted us I think it was a Turkish gentleman.

While I was standing and waiting the old gentleman was rude to another client that couldn’t understand him properly.

I am very disappointed and unhappy about the customer service at this branch

I'm honestly very disappointed. I went to ATU for an AC repair, and they said they ordered the part on May 23rd. After more than 6 weeks of waiting, they now tell me they ordered the wrong part and need to reorder. It’s summer, and I’ve been driving around in the heat all this time. If they couldn’t fix it, they should’ve just told me—I would’ve gone to another workshop long ago, especially since my insurance is covering the cost. This whole experience feels like a waste of time. I absolutely do not recommend going there.

Never recommended!
I just wanted to change the oil but they also performed other things that I hadn't requested. After the engine oil I had a problem with the car but they didn't help me and didn't answer me. Never again.

ATU Windeckstr Karlsruhe cannot be trusted to give a correct diagnosis. They misdiagnosed our issue,were pre-paid for the wrong diagnosis and for their exhorbitant quote (compared to other companies) then we were told they had no idea how to continue. Their problem? How to bleed the hoses of the water pump! Took them FIVE days of scratching their heads, then asked for MORE money no apology, no show of the manager’s face. Disgusting! Till this day they refuse to apologise. They broke German warranty law that says the car should be delivered on agreed date for the agreed price.. their complaints department has NEVER answered any of my emails!! Disgraceful experience.

I went in a week early to arrange for new tires to be installed and have an inspection done. They misquoted me leaving me no choice but to have the work done a few hours before leaving on vacation. When I asked him to justify the price difference, he said that maybe because it was in German I was having a hard time following. I said this was shameless to say the problem is that I am a foreigner. He said he didn't see a problem and that I am hard to understand. After 16 Years of using ATU with multiple vehicles I have finally had enough of being treated badly here and giving them my money for it.

Went to ATU for TUV, our car failed and we were quoted over EURO 2,500 for necessary repairs in order for car to pass. Went to an independent garage who fixed the car and passed the TUV for under EURO 800!

Will NEVER use ATU again

They had taken my car for a ride without my permission when I’ve been waiting for the tyres to change. They told me that this was a test drive !! Never experienced this before. When I went there for my appointment at 11.00, they also told me that the car will be ready sometime till 13.30. after 2,5 hours just for a tyre change.

ATU disposed of my winter wheels.
I went to collect my winter wheels from ATU Nickern Dresden and they told me they couldn't find them. They had stopped using a storage contractor and all customer wheels were now on site. They said they tried to contact the original storage contractor but they don't answer the phone. Then they told me that after one year they are allowed to dispose of wheels if not claimed by the owner and I had signed the storage contract. I have the original contract still and it is not signed by me and when I asked ATU to produce the original contract from their side they said they had just destroyed all hardcopies only three weeks ago (hysterical nonsense). ATU never attempted to contact me via email, telephone or mail and so they never applied any due care and duty to the customer whatsoever. After many emails back and forth, the manager in an attempt to resolve this matter gave me an estimate for €475.00 to purchase new winter wheels. I would advise anyone thinking of storing their winter or summer wheels at this company not too. I have been a customer with ATU for many years without issue and this is how they treated me. Absolutely disgraceful. Never do business with this company is my advice.
UPDATE: ATU finally found my winter wheels. Issue is now resolved.

Untrustworthy. Absolutely scam set up. Never ever trust a single word anyone from company tells. Their lies costed me 400km +4hour + whole my Saturday.!! At the end no service received.

Untrustworthy! We had a HU at TUV that said our rear axle needed new brake pads. ATU advertised "premium" brake pads with all labor included for EUR 229. We scheduled this with a Nachprufung. At the end of the day, they said they they couldn't do the Nachprufung because the right person wasn't there (maybe they could have mentioned this at the beginning? For scheduling?) and also said that they thought the front brakes and all rotors needed to be replaced, despite having passed the HU and contrary to what our km-stand and all forums say. But you don't want to mess with brakes. We elected to get only the rear rotors and brake pads replaced, and still the end price was over 200 EUR more than what they had told us on the phone. So our 300 EUR brake pad replacement cost almost 700 EUR. For that price we could go to the dealer. Highway robbery, AND it ended up taking 3 days. Never again. Don't get sold on what their website says are the correct prices, or their fear tactics in upselling services.

A.T.U. managed to scratch my car, although the only thing they had to do is to organize TÜV. The scratch is on the engine hood and is more than 20 cm long. The cost to remove it is up to 1000 EUR. The guys explained to me that they are not responsible for any damages and anyone could come with a scratch and blame them. The TÜV costed me 1120 EUR. Nice.

Employees knowledge of current German requirements to register a United Kingdom vehicle onto the German system is unbelievable, the German law requires that first you must TUV your UK vehicle then insurance is required before you register the vehicle, ATU Sandhofen Mannheim clearly do not know the requirements. Been a customer of there’s in the past not any more.

Unfriendly people. This firm destroys the good german image.

I went there to fix my AC at first they checked and said they need to fix something it takes 155 euros. I confirmed that I agree with that two days later they called me and said they need to change the condensator it costs 445 Euro in total. It was really a big amount for the old car, so it took time to decide from my side. I went there again, and I asked 3-4 times: Is it all cost to fix the AC? I cant pay a single cent more if you say later, they confirmed me yes that's all to fix your AC.
now the main twist-
they called me 1 day later to give them 445+600=1000+ Euro. I was very angry and went there to discuss them in person. They claimed I have to pay either 445 or 950 Euro, what's the hell is going on man! finally, after a lot of discussions, I had to pay 263 Euro for nothing.
It was just a hijacking. be careful to deal with them. mainly for the person who can't speak German properly.

Dont do this to your car. It deserves better.
