Don't make the same mistake I did!!!

I am an experienced knitter and discovered We Are Knitters through Instagram. They advertised a kit for the Rainbow Sweater that caught my eye and I decided to give it a try. The pattern and videos were excellent. HOWEVER, that's where my praise for this company stops. The website advertised two different kits using the same picture. I should have read the two different ones more closely because one was 50/50 acrylic wool blend and the other more expensive one was 100% wool. I purchased the 50/50 kit. After completing the project, I cold water blocked it and the colors ran and turned my white yarn pink. No pre-washing advisories were provided with the pattern. It also didn't feel very good after being wet - I could definitely tell there was acrylic in the yarn.

I reached out to the company who promptly responded and asked for pictures which I provided. They told me the sweater still looked good and gave me some suggestions for trying to removed the color from the white yarn. None of the suggestions worked. They offered me a $35 GC or a $25 credit to my credit card but would not replace the skeins with an explanation that everyone blocks differently - which essentially places the problem back with me (the customer). I've worked with a lot of hand dyed yarn and never had this happen to me.

I wrote a review directly through the company site and gave it one star. They acknowledged receipt of the review and thanked me for my feedback so that they could improve. The review was never published. It's been a week and other reviews written at the same time have been posted. Buyer beware. I will use my credit for accessories and will not be purchasing another kit from them.

Everything was delivered on time and as promised.

I just received my order and I am pleased with the yarns. The yarn is a little bit pricey but the company offered a discount which helped. The yarn is cotton but has a clean finish which will make the stitches look good.

So happy with the entire process. Love your shipping bag!

I did a gauge swatch for the Venice Tee but the knitting looked too loose even though the gauge was correct. It was going to turn out to be a very baggy tee. I went down a needle size and the gauge is a bit smaller for both rows and stitches as would be expected but it looks so much better and more like the photos. It is easy enough to adjust for size. I’m just a little concerned that I now may not have enough yarn.🧶

I have been a customer for many years and love their kits. The option to include knitting needles/crochet hook reduces my panic in scrabbling around to find one.
When I made my recent order (WIP project bag) I had cause to contact customer service. Vincent helped enormously, keeping me updated and responding quickly to my emails providing a resolution.
I have no hesitation in recommending We Are Knitters, I will definitely be using them again.

My email inquiry was answered very quickly and I appreciate that. I was going to return the yarn as it was not the weight that I originally thought as I had purchased some couple of months earlier in same color not realizing when I reordered it was a thicker yarn. They were ready to refund me but I decided to keep it and make another project and will order the correct weight when it comes in at the end of the month.

Easyness to order. Good quality of wool.

I wanted to order a kit for a baby blanket. I needed help with something and my question was answered extremely fast . They also had an amazing tutorial.
