Supervalu is a lovely shop but sometimes when I go to the stores it can be very hard to get someone quickly to help u out if u have any issues like finding a product but other than that there are some great staff working in supervalu

While shopping today 30 October in S/V Ballinteer at about 4.15 was surprised the butcher counter and fish counter closed as the fillet steak advertises on special and yet I couldn’t buy also the fridge with berries was almost empty. This store is open till 9 or 10 o’clock I’d hate to be shopping late Very disappointed
Worse click and collect ever…
Worse click and collect ever experienced. The app or even when guided by customer support to login online with my account I was still getting something went wrong, and then when I called the store and asked them to honour my voucher for click and collect if i went to the store I was fobbed off with technical support escalation after 2 days of trying to get a shop done. Stay clear of this company, not interested in helping customers or fixing there app.

Up there with the best.
I've been to Churchtown supermarket recently on the 17 and 23 Sept 2026.
It was spotless, the staff were helpful and friendly. I always find something different and interesting. The meat, fruit and veg are always really fresh. I use the app and get a lot of rewards. It's an enjoyable experience every time. I love cheese and they have a great variety. A well deserved 5 stars.
I was shopping in supervalu in Newcastle west
I was shopping in supervalu in Newcastle West County Limerick . I would never really go there as I always found it very expensive, but I met this beautiful young man called Shaun Donovan and I must say he is a credit to the management and his parents. He was so polite and helpful well able to hold a conversation and he changed my thoughts about shopping there. I've been a return customer since. I never ever leave reviews but I genuinely couldn't let it go without mentioning this fine young man . Well Done Shaun you will go far in life . Keep up the great work .
Supervalu
Supervalu, Killybegs, Donegal. 7/9/26. 4 - 4:30 pm.
The woman in front of my wife and I put her shopping through the checkout and offered her reward details to the very helpful and friendly lady serving her, only to find out that in order to get €5 off the €35 worth of groceries she had bought, she would need to spend another €10. Supervalu had changed the rules. Instead of getting €5 off €35, a shopper would need to spend €45 to get the fiver off. She paid the €35 and left without receiving the €5 discount.
We had filled our trolley to €86, to get €15 off. We paid, then noticed the €15 hadn’t been deducted. We had therefore been overcharged. Everything was packed in bags in the trolley.
Not our fault. The rewards had been activated on my wife’s phone.
Good customer service would have given us €15 back and left it at that.
The very helpful and friendly lady at the checkout explained that, no, we needed to unpack the four shopping bags and put everything back through the till, one at a time to gradually deduct the price of each item in turn from the €86 total. This involved re-scanning everything.
We agreed. But the system couldn’t handle it. Repeated attempts failed.
After 10-15 minutes, the checkout lady explained she needed to go upstairs to see her superior, and 5 minutes later returned with a €10 voucher. Not a €15 voucher.
She explained we needed to spend another €85 to get the €10 off. We had already spent €85.
This meant we would lose the entire €15 and have to buy another €85 worth of items to be eligible to use the €10 voucher. We’d get €10 off €170.
I called for her superior, who explained the shop’s partner company, Musgrave, was in part in charge of rewards, not solely Supervalu, therefore we would need to forget about the first solution and put all our groceries through again, in the normal way, and then pay for them and get our €15 off. Which may NOT even have worked. She explained that Musgrave was having problems with their rewards system.
I explained that it was expecting too much of a customer to be inconvenienced to this degree, that she should just give us our €15 and let us go home and then take it up with Musgrave, that if we went to Tesco we wouldn’t be expected to deal with discrepancies which involved arrangements Tesco had made with their business partners.
It was just something that shouldn’t concern customers.
I was putting across a reasonable viewpoint, sticking up for ourselves, but her superior decided that we were being unreasonable.
So, with no €15 refund on offer, I asked for a total refund of the €86 and we left. This probably took 25-30 minutes, with customers backing up behind us with their trolleys.
The superior didn’t seem to understand that customers expect to pay and leave without involvement with the shop’s business partner’s arrangements regarding rewards schemes. She couldn’t take it in.
Is it fair to make two pensioners stand around for up to 30 minutes enduring this type of treatment?
Very disappointing experience.
I love supervalu on line
I love supervalu on line. Always perfect. So convenient. The delivery guys are so nice. One in particular Colin castletroy was exceptional.
I was at SuperValu in Gorey
I was at SuperValu in Gorey, and there was only one staff member, and the queue stretched out the door. Please do better.

Very dissatisfied SuperValu Claremorris…
Very dissatisfied SuperValu Claremorris ,Co .Mayo.
Purchased loaf of OHaras bread to discover mouldy .
Would have thought more attention to stock and dates be a priority, plenty of staff casually having the chats congregated, maybe more managent skills to assure store is up to adequate standards.
Supervalu
Supervalu. Ballymote. This is the worst service that we have ever experienced from a SuperValu store. We will never use them again for delivery.... 0/10 .... Much better service from Dunnes.
Disability awareness, little support
The carpark is under going construction. The workers are telling non wheelchair badge holders to park in the disabled spaces.
My elderly father could not use the space which he needs. I spoke with a manager in supervalue who said it was nothing to do with them and was dismissive of customers needs.
A simple chat with the workers explaining its unlawful to park in these spaces, could sort it.
An holistic view of disabled people's needs and reasonable adjustments is required to ensure all people regardless of disability can access the shop.
Disappointing all round

I can only speak for the two shops I use which are Tuam and Loughrea. I give them 5 stars everting from order to deliver is top notch. In Loughrea they give you a printout of your list and the thing they dont have. Why are most people taring all the shops with the one brush.
I can’t thank Aidan McGuane
I can’t thank Aidan McGuane, the Bakery Manager at SuperValu Castletroy, enough for creating my daughter’s 21st birthday cake.
It was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. All of our guests were delighted with it!
