I am in my third year with Smart Steuer. I used it in 23 and 24, and I'm now using it in 25.

You can use Claude co-work to fill in all the fields via a web browser, and it works perfectly.

It's a great app and very good to start a new year with all the data from last.

Last 2 years I was not only loyal client of this service but was also recommending it to my colleagues and friends. This year, after filling and submitting my annual application via smartsteuer.de they've taken my 39.99 Euros in January'26 and then... nothing. Within 3 months I've tried (in vain) reach their CS.
Now I'm switching to the Taxfix

I like Lukki — awesome selection of slots, friendly support and bonuses. But cashing out feels slow, especially on weekends. You win, but you sometimes wait way too long. Could be great with faster payouts.

Simple and straightforward guidance on filling out the tax form. Each year I would use smartsteuer and would always receive tax returns.

This is a SERIOUS tool for doing your taxes in Germany. I have used it every year since 2020 - never had any issues and am very thankful for all the tips they added when doing the returns. I have a small freelance business and have to calculate VAT as well as income tax and this just works perfect everytime...

Great redesign and branding, will be back in 2025 ! <3

I used smartsteuer to fill my 1st tax return in Germany. My situation was quite complex because I have revenues from 2 countries (France and Germany) for 2021. The tool was pretty easy to used but I had to use google translation because the site is fully in German (nothing too complicated thanks to the Chrome extension).
smartsteuer estimated a tax refund of 833 euros and I got 870 euros from the tax office - I was delighted as I only worked 2 months in Germany in 2021!! Thanks smartsteuer

Still quite new to filing tax return in Germany. First time I used a tax advisor, for the second time I decided to try Smartsteuer since it was the only software that allows for compllicated situation: moving countries, multiple incomes and capital returns.

In my case I thought I might get a small amount of tax return, maybe around 50 euro. To my surprise, smartsteur estimated a tax refund of 870 euros! However, the final calculation by the tax office is a refund of just 15 euro. So it seems like smartsteuer completely overestimated the tax refund amount.

As for completing the forms, it often feels like the information isn't really helpful and sounds a lot like the tax jargon copied from the tax forms. Also the direct google translate is only partially helpful and doesn't make sense half the time.
