My experience with Smart Cellular was exhausting from start to finish.
My iPhone was valued at £698 online,yet once they received it the offer dropped to £250.After challenging it increased to £300, then £400—>£520,and only after I told them I had another buyer offering £610 did they suddenly agree to pay £610.
THAT ALONE SHOULD TELL YOU THAT THE ORIGINAL VALUATION PROCESS WASN’T TRANSPARENT
I repeatedly asked one simple question: what specifically about my phone justified such a significant reduction? I never received a direct answer or any inspection findings. Instead, I was given different generic explanations about insurance, market prices, refurbishment costs and business expenses and ofc I requested explanations and photographic evidence referred to in those same terms after my valuation was reduced, I never received them. MY PHONE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION 👀
This Jake repeatedly replied to my emails with “Thank you for your AI GENERATED response,” which I found completely unprofessional and irrelevant. Rather than addressing my questions,he focused on how my emails were written lol
I also called customer service to get answers because email wasn’t getting me anywhere. The representative couldn’t answer my questions and ended the call while I was still speaking,PS: was completely calm no shouting or yelling,.. but he hang up on me…
In the end, they did pay the amount I ultimately requested, but only after days of back and forth, multiple revised offers, countless emails and phone calls PLUS emotional exhaustion so It should never have taken that much effort to reach a fair outcome.

Absolutely an awful company to buy…
Absolutely an awful company to buy from, they advertise phones they don't have, after two weeks of not receiving my order I asked for a refund which they agreed to do, waited another three weeks after many emails asking when I would be refunded, all they kept saying was my refund is imminent. I ended up calling my bank and they did a thing called charge back which takes the money directly from their company bank account and refunds my money to my account, do not buy from these people.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
Ordered an Iphone June 13th, expecting delivery in the 2-3days quoted, after 4 days mailed the Smartcellular, only for Scott reply "small issue it'll be a few days". Wish i had read the reviews here first.
Responded with "full refund please", if i don't recieve my refund with in 7 days i'm starting a section 75 charge back. Scott continued to offer "£10 off" or "free earbuds". Responed back with section 75 charge back will now start in 5 days & don't reply unless it's regarding the refund. He did respond back yesterday stating "he's instructed the refund". Reading commects here, i'll still be waiting in two weeks for the refund. I'm going to stick to my guns and start the charge back on the seventh day as i stated.

Do not buy a phone from this company! They sold us a corrupted phone and even with their supposed 24 month warranty, they now have the phone but refuse to mend it or refund me and just keep telling me its with their 'team' its been with their 'team' for 2 months! The warranty does not exist.

They make derogatory offers once they receive the item.
I was offered £75 for an IPad.
Once they received it they offered £5 which is £15 less than their website quote for poor condition.
I asked for it to be returned to me, their website says free returns, but I had to pay.
Then had to wait over 2 weeks and several requests to return it.

Terrible customer service
Ordered a phone from smart cellular. Website promised it would arrive within 2_3 working days. After 5 working days I reached out as hadn't heard anything and hadn't received a tracking link. Every time I phoned was promised an update and/or the tracking link that day. This was always a lie. Was emailing with Scott from the sales team and he just kept saying was "speaking with the warehouse team and would update me soon" but declined to provide any clarification beyond this. Eventually called to cancel and Joseph really tried to avoid giving me a refund, eventually saying that the phone would be sent in a week (two weeks after I'd placed the order). I persisted in asking for a refund and he has said he will pass this on to sales and that they will confirm the refund via email, but fully expecting to have to chase this for days on end as well. Absolute scammers, avoid.

My purchase of an iphone 13 pro max
My purchase of an iphone 13 pro max (in graphite) was £50 cheaper than any other used phone company. It arrived within a week of ordering and was in pristine condition as described and in its box.
The free warranty also gives me peace of mind and I would recommend this company to all my friends.
(I didn’t trade in my old phone because I saw that some reviewers complained about the service they had received from the trade-in department.)

Poor grading, broken promises, and stalled refund
Proceed with caution.
Phone color I ordered wasn't available, so I agreed to a replacement color with an offered discount and phone case, neither of which were ever provided. The Pixel 8 Pro arrived with noticeable heavy screen scratches despite being sold as "Excellent" condition.
I returned it, and Smart Cellular confirmed receipt and agreed in writing to a full refund + return postage. Instead of refunding my card, they stalled and asked for my private bank details for a direct transfer. I refused for security reasons and had to recover my money through a formal bank chargeback.

Sent me a revised quote at 30% there original quote, the phone was new and had only been used for a matter of days, I declined and asked them to send phone back, they offered another £40 and I declined again asking them to send my phone back, they went quite on me for a couple of days and came back with another quote which was still £140 shy of their original one, again I declined and asked them to stop revising the quote and just send my phone back, again they went quite, it was only when I started threatening them with more official ways of receiving my device they then said they would pay the original quote, this is a horrific company to deal with who will put considerable effort into ripping you off before they pay what they originally said they would, I strongly suggest people avoid but if you do decide to use don’t except their revised quotes and go through the same 5 days of endless emails I have had to.
