Betty was great at communicating clearly and showing patience as we looked for a motorhome with quite a specific request that couldn’t be accommodated by most rental companies. Thanks for your help!

Hello, the booking process went well.
However, I did have some trouble choosing the insurance.
The distinction between the excess waiver and the premium insurance isn't very clear!
Was the Gold insurance sufficient?
Since we weren't sure, we ended up getting both.
I hope we can make changes if we made a mistake.
Also, there is no information on whether the rental dates can be adjusted by a day or two.
That’s all.
Best regards,

We had email confirmation from motorhome republic that we would arrive on the 28th of August. We rang to pick up on this date and our booking had been made for a day later. This cost us a tonne of money in rejigging camp spots & booking a hotel. They also took over a week to make a change request to the camper company, the NZ support hours are pretty hopeless when dealing with a rental in North America.
We booked different details in the website to what was actually sent to the camper company and therefore expensive changes had to be made last minute.
They told us that they couldn't refund for days unused at the end of our trip due to the camper company not allowing it. However, in talking to the camper company this was again a lie.
I would avoid this hassle and book directly with a camper company.

Fraudulent company with terrible customer service. Have been lied to several times through their process. They also lie on review responses to say that they can't find your booking to try and cast aspersions on negative reviews.

The service was great. I got a response in between the time window provided and the the rental place was kind enough to allow us to pick the vehicle up 2 hours early without any extra charges.

I am extremely satisfied with the service and the communication. The entire team is super friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful!
We encountered an unexpected issue with our rental provided by an overseas partner, but the staff handled it brilliantly. They proactive informed us in a timely manner and resolved the situation smoothly.
Additionally, they answered every single query we had with incredible speed and care. Fantastic service from start to finish—thank you so much!

what i dislike is the terms of booking are made clear only when you go to purchase , this is that you can only collect the motor home at 3pm and have to return it at 10am , this means for a cost of 7 day hire you get 5,5 days of use

We rented a THOR motorhome from Indie Campers for a trip through the Canadian national parks, and unfortunately the overall experience was well below expectations, especially considering the price paid.
Pick-up was handled correctly by the staff member on-site — nothing to complain about there. Problems started on day one.
Roads in Canadian national parks and campgrounds often have bumps, dips, and short unpaved sections. Due to the resulting vibrations, our right-side rearview mirror simply fell off while driving. We picked it up and contacted the WhatsApp assistance line (which felt like an AI bot most of the time): replies were slow and only came during "office hours." It took two days to get a repair shop address, which sent us on a 3-hour detour — only to find nothing at that location. The chat then stopped responding altogether. We escalated to customer service by phone, which was also difficult to reach, and were given a different repair shop 50 km further away, without anyone informing the shop we were coming. In the end, we had the mirror repaired ourselves.
Vibrations also caused every single screw holding the microwave in place to come loose and fall out — we had to keep re-tightening them by hand with a screwdriver, and they loosened again daily. Two more screws came up from the floor, and another was loose in the bathroom. The overall build quality of the interior fittings is poor: thin doors, drawers that already close badly.
The grey/black water drain hose (a 20 cm plastic connector, worth maybe $20) was too short and had a small hole in it, so waste leaked out every time we emptied the tanks. When we reported this, assistance's response was to stop using the toilet, and that changing the hose "was not authorized" — despite it being an inexpensive part we would gladly have bought ourselves.
Within the first few days we also got an oil change warning on the dashboard, suggesting the vehicle hadn't been properly checked before handover.
The included linens and kitchen/bathroom equipment were minimal — the sheet didn't even fully cover the bed, and towels were undersized. We ended up buying extra towels, mugs, bowls, and basic supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and gloves for emptying the black water tank. I'd strongly recommend Indie Campers improve the base equipment, especially since it's a paid add-on.
Drop-off, on the other hand, was smooth and problem-free. One more suggestion: we had to throw away unopened food and household items (oil, salt, sugar, detergent, soap, etc.) that could easily have been left for the next renters — a small collection/reuse system at drop-off would be a simple, sustainable fix.
Overall, we were not satisfied with our experience given the price paid and the very poor level of assistance. If we had had a more serious mechanical issue, I genuinely wonder how they would have handled it — especially considering there's often no phone signal at all inside the parks.

I booked my 28-day motorhome rental in Australia through Motorhome Republic.
The booking process itself was straightforward and communication before the trip was good.
Unfortunately, the motorhome supplied by the rental company (Maui) experienced several issues throughout our holiday, including repeated loss of power, a defective bed, sliding door warnings while driving and other equipment problems. The accumulation of these issues eventually led us to return the vehicle three days earlier than planned.
Following my complaint, Motorhome Republic contacted Maui several times and kept me informed throughout the process, which I appreciate.
However, I was disappointed that Motorhome Republic relied entirely on Maui's conclusions and did not appear to make an independent assessment of my complaint. Although Maui acknowledged some of the issues and offered a goodwill payment, I did not consider the compensation proportionate to the disruption we experienced.
I understand that Motorhome Republic is an intermediary rather than the vehicle owner, but as the company through which I made my booking, I had hoped for stronger customer advocacy or at least an independent review of the outcome.
Despite this experience, I appreciate the courteous communication throughout the process.

Calvin answered my initial questions as I had started the online booking process. He stayed on and answered questions as I proceeded to the Confirmed Booking button and clarified the important terms I needed to read so I knew what I was committing to.

The vehicle provided by Indie Campers New Jersey was completely non-compliant, unsafe, and filthy. Below is the full list of material defects and service failures documented during the rental:
• Critical Safety Defect (Windshield Wipers): The windshield wipers were completely broken, with the rubber blade hanging off. The windshield washer fluid system was dry/broken, making driving under poor weather conditions extremely dangerous.
• Mechanical & Structural Failures: The vehicle suffered from severe braking vibrations over 50 mph, misaligned steering pulling dangerously to the right, and massive rainwater infiltrations flooding both the driver's cabin and the rear bed area. The rear window had been poorly patched with tape prior to delivery, proving negligence.
• Plumbing Failures (Internal Flooding): The internal fresh/waste water system had severe leaks, causing the living area of the camper to flood on multiple occasions.
• Defective Electrical System (Battery): The auxiliary living area battery was completely worn out; it was incapable of holding a charge to keep the refrigerator running for a single night.
• Inadequate Utility Supplies: The propane gas tank (LPG) was delivered almost empty, at only 20% capacity, forcing us to immediately look for a refill.
• Extremely Poor Hygiene: The vehicle was handed over in a filthy condition. We were forced to personally scrub and sanitize all the cabinets, drawers, shelves, and floors before we could unpack.
• Failure to Deliver Paid Amenities: most the pre-paid kit essentials, including bed sheets, linens, and towels, were completely missing from the vehicle
• Intentional Negligence and Fraudulent Customer Service Logistics
On the very day of pickup, we immediately noticed the defects and requested a vehicle replacement. The depot staff refused, claiming no other vehicles were available due to high season. Magicially, the very next day, they changed their version and told us we could get a replacement, but only if we drove the defective and dangerous vehicle 3 hours backward from Boston to New York. This is an unacceptable and hazardous request.
When we asked for a replacement vehicle at their Boston location instead, they stalled from Friday until Monday at 12:00 PM, completely ignoring the urgency. When they finally approved the Boston swap, we were already hours away, traveling toward our next pre-booked campsite. Indie Campers utterly failed their duty of care: they should have towed a safe, compliant replacement vehicle directly to our location. Instead, they forced my family to keep driving a hazardous camper that should have never been allowed to leave their warehouse in the first place

I booked a campervan through Motorhome Republic for a trip in Italy from 30/06/26 to 9/07/26. Indie campers were the suppliers. When I arrived to collect the van the automatic camper I rented was not available. I was given a manual. Reluctantly I took the vehicle. When we set up that night there were issues with the van. I contacted Motorhome Republic to ask how I could get an automatic camper as rented and solve the issues with the van. Motorhome Republic said I needed to contact the Indie campers and take it up with them. No assistance from the company I actually rented the van from ie. Motorhome Republic, just told to sort it out with Indie campers. No assistance at all to get the van I rented. Zero after rental service
