Star Rv was an excellent option for our holiday. We live in the state of Queensland decided to fly to Brisbane rent The Polaris 2 and meander around the Sunshine Coast scenic Rim instead of hotels and hiring a car. excellent choice we would highly recommend and definitely a holiday option for us again in the future👍👍👍

Our experience with Star RV had some significant challenges, but to their credit, they eventually found a solution.

Our original motorhome broke down during our trip, which caused a lot of disruption and stress to our family holiday. A replacement vehicle was eventually arranged, but the process took longer than we would have hoped and communication along the way could definitely have been better. We also encountered further issues with the replacement vehicle, which added to the frustration.

That said, I do want to acknowledge that Star RV ultimately worked with us and provided a resolution. It showed that the company is willing to address problems when they are escalated to the right people.

The biggest area for improvement, in my opinion, is empowering and properly training the frontline staff who answer customer queries. During a breakdown or urgent situation, customers need someone who can assess the circumstances, make reasonable decisions independently, and offer practical solutions without everything having to be repeatedly escalated or delayed.

When you are travelling with family and something goes wrong far from home, timely communication and decisive support make a huge difference.

Overall, it was not the smooth experience we had hoped for, but I appreciate that Star RV eventually listened and worked towards a solution. Hopefully they use experiences like ours to improve their processes and give their customer service team more authority and training to resolve problems quickly when they arise.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way Star RV has handled my situation.
One of their rental campervans hit my car while it was PARKED. I was not at fault whatsoever, and unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward insurance matter has turned into an incredibly stressful and exhausting experience.
It has now been almost a month since the accident, and I still haven’t received a proper update or even a claim number. I have contacted the company and have been left without any clear information about what is happening or when this will be resolved.
I have also found out that my own insurance does not cover this type of accident, which has left me extremely worried because I simply cannot afford to pay for the damage to my car myself , especially when I did absolutely nothing wrong.
I completely understand that accidents happen and that they are not always intentional. What has been most upsetting is the lack of communication and the fact that I have been left dealing with so much stress and uncertainty for almost a month.
I sincerely hope Star RV takes responsibility for handling this properly and provides me with a clear resolution. I would have much rather resolved this easily and amicably, but the lack of communication has made an already stressful situation so much worse.

Like others here, lots of equipment problems because no pre checks were made. Electrics unusable after an hour if not plugged into electric socket in camp, can’t drain the waste water due to kinked waste pipe, so use a bucket, fridge constantly trips, gas leaks so can’t really use the cooker…reading the trust pilot responses from RV they really don’t give a sh*t. Use someone else is my recommendation!

Absolutely loved our 14 day roadtrip. Vehicle was in great order. We had a couple of hiccups (not their fault) during the trip which were both rectified quickly. Staff were professional and friendly on pick up and drop off. We will be using Star Rv again.

Helpful staff, easy pick up and drop off. Campervan was well maintained and fitted out, very comfortable.
No problems with small issues of wear and tear of the vehicle after over 4 weeks on the road.
Overall positive experience, definitely use them again.

I found the staff efficient and friendly, giving me all I needed to know when picking up the campervan. Our trip was comfortable and warm in the wintry conditions and the vehicle was excellent to drive, with plenty of power. The price was better than some other companies, if not the lowest. The only tricky thing to get used to was the gear change on the steering column.

Great service and a well maintained vehicle. Instructions on how to use the different functions on the RV was easy to follow and use as well. Very reliable vehicle with easy handling to travel through the different terrains of the south island of New Zealand.

We recently rented the Polaris 2 from Star RV and could not be happier with the experience.
The service at pickup was spot on: super punctual with virtually zero wait time. The staff were fast, friendly, and extremely clear, walking us through every detail of the motorhome step-by-step (water tanks, battery, kitchen, and control panel). That thorough explanation gave us complete confidence right from the start.
As for the vehicle, the Polaris 2 is fantastic—very comfortable, well-equipped, smooth to drive, and spacious enough for two people. We would definitely rent with Star RV again for our next road trip. Highly recommended!

5/5 – Fantastic motorhome experience with Star RV New Zealand
We had an absolutely brilliant time hiring a motorhome for our two-week trip around the South Island, and everything went smoothly from start to finish.
The booking process was straightforward and the team were helpful with advice on routes and what to expect. Pickup at the depot was efficient — the vehicle was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. It was comfortable to drive, easy to park, and had everything we needed (kitchen, bathroom, good storage, and reliable heating for the cooler nights).
We covered a great mix of places — from the stunning landscapes around Queenstown and Wanaka to the quieter spots on the West Coast. Having the freedom to stop wherever we wanted and wake up to incredible views made the whole trip special. The motorhome handled the roads well.
Drop-off was just as easy, with clear instructions and a friendly hand-over. Overall it felt like excellent value for the experience we had.
Highly recommended if you’re looking for a flexible, comfortable way to explore New Zealand. We’ll definitely hire again next time we’re back.
