The worst airline in the world
The worst airline in the world, our flight from Bali was delayed and then our luggage left behind, bad service, uncomfortable seats, bad service and at the end is really expensive.
Very disappointing experience with…
Very disappointing experience with Jetstar. We arrived at the airport on time, but due to the long queue, our baggage was refused even though we were already there and following staff instructions. We then had to pay an extra $300 for three people for the next flight. Very unfair and poor customer service.
They were always late
They were always late!
This latest burst, four flights over 3 days. Not one of them left on time average of 30-45 minute delays.
But worse is the lack of communication. Flight delays are often known in advance and either not communicated at all or communicated so late that people are already at the airport. They have strict check in rules but don't adhere to their own timelines. Throughout the years their lack of punctuality and communication has only become worse.
One star only because I have to
One star only because I have to . Rude staff , poor service and not as cheap as you may think. Don't do it .
This airline sucks
This airline sucks. I asked to get in line as the line was getting long and explained to them that by the time I reach the counter, it would be the time that their alloted time for my flight to be checked in. I spoke to a gentleman who was rude, and what I assume he did was inform the front staff to make my check in disruptive. This flight was an international flight from Naha to Melbourne. Needless to say, the front staff said that my flight from Narita to Melbourne was on a different booking and that I have to gather my baggage and recheck back in for Melbourne. Upon going to my gate, I asked a different staff who told me otherwise that my baggage should have gone all the way to Melbourne. This is where he made this disruptive. I asked her why it was handled the way it did and she did not know, but that if I wanted to checkin all the way to Melbourne, that I would have to pay extra, which I did. Just so you know, this low budget fare is not what it seems and will squeeze every money out of you. At this point, I did not care to pay extra, but rest assured that I will let my wmployer know not to use JetStar for any government travels. This airline sucks and is unacceptable. And it will be duly noted that JetStar will no longer see any business from me and my employer for any future travels.

Extremely disappointing customer service – basic expenses refused and messages ignored
Very disappointing experience with Jetstar. My baggage was delayed, and because I had no access to my belongings, I had to repurchase basic necessities such as toothpaste, socks and other essential personal items.
Making money out of customers with…
Making money out of customers with their own version of the 7kg carry-on. Since when did carry-on include the personal bag? A laptop can easily weigh 3kg, cameras increase that weight as well. Plus the weight of a carry-on luggage. It's ridiculous to have to include 2 items (overhead and personal bag) in the 7kg carry-on. Why do you need 14kg for a short city trip? They make so much money from students and families because of this policy. Paying for seats is already ridiculous! They should make this carry-on policy an important check-in policy and immediately advice passengers to pre-purchase to a 14kg carry-on allowance, instead of surprising travelers with a ridiculous fee!!!
In addition, our seat had a chewed gum in the seat pocket!
I have been waiting for a reimbursement…
I have been waiting for a reimbursement of $550 for over 4 Months. Every time you call them it's the same excuse and no-one ever calls you back. The staff at the level you liaise with are all liars and it is impossible to speak with a manager or supervisor.
Absolutely shocking experience at…
Absolutely shocking experience at Jetstar Sydney. I was on my way to my best friend's funeral he passed away just two days ago. I was grieving, vulnerable, and the staff member at check-in was extremely rude and aggressive. I was only 2kg over on hand luggage and she charged me $85 AUD without any compassion or understanding of my situation. She threatened to remove me from the flight and refused to let me board until I paid the money on the spot. She showed zero empathy, zero kindness, and zero professionalism. I should never have been charged in the first place since this was part of a multi-city itinerary with included baggage allowance. But more importantly, in a moment when I was already suffering, this staff member's cruel and heartless behaviour made an awful day even worse. Jetstar's service standards are appalling. Would not recommend under any circumstances.
Terrible is an understatement!!
Terrible is an understatement!!
If I could rate 0 stars I would. My partner and I got late by only 4 minutes to check in our bags and there was still 45 minutes for the plane to leave. The flight crew were very unbothered and had the worst customer service especially the the lady serving us who was only waiting for it to hit 4pm to clock off her shift and didn’t bother to help.I would never recommend anyone to use Jetstar. For your sanity and peace of mind.Clearly cheap is expensive! 😒

I strongly recommend avoiding Jetstar based on my experience.
I arrived at Sydney Airport at approximately 6:20am for a 7:20am flight, with check-in closing at 6:40am. Online check-in wouldn’t work, the kiosk couldn’t allocate me a seat, and I reached the service desk around 6:32am. A pilot was then served ahead of me, and by the time the staff member returned to me, check-in had closed.
I was forced to pay an additional $175 to take the next flight.
Jetstar has since confirmed in writing that my booking required manual processing, yet has twice refused to refund the $175, claiming they cannot independently verify what happened at their own service desk.
Extremely disappointing customer service and complaint handling. I’ve retained the screenshots and correspondence and am now escalating the matter externally.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend Jetstar and will personally avoid flying with them in future.
Worst ever airline
Worst ever airline. Ripped off badly. Paid $1900 for Brisbane to Auckland for myself and partner and having to change flights to a later date costed an extra $500. Don't travel with these rip off merchants
Absolutely shocking experience with…
Absolutely shocking experience with Jetstar. I paid around $1,800 for my flights and still ended up being hit with extra costs for basic things like checked baggage. The frustrating part is that these additional charges aren’t made clear enough when booking, so you think you’ve paid for your flights only to find out later that you’re expected to keep paying for essentials.
For the amount of money spent, you’d expect a much better experience and far more transparency about what is and isn’t included in the ticket price.
It honestly feels like the advertised flight price is just the starting point, and everything else gets added on afterwards. Very disappointing and definitely makes me think twice about flying Jetstar again.
Would not recommend.

Flight Bali to Adelaide September 1st 2026
We were left 2 hours on our flight with no water and when they gave us water it was less than half a cup. Service was terrible Balinese people are beautiful and polite and we did not get that all. Everything was too hard. Hope you review this Jetstar.
Legroom? What legroom?
Flew from auckland to dunedin recently and have never had such a disappointing experience.
From check-in where the person was less enthusiastic than a mortician, to the in-flight service, where the booked meal didn’t come with any kind of drink, was barely edible and was served without a smile.
Leg room was virtually non-existent and I suffered from terrible claustrophobia as a result. Thankfully only a short-haul flight.
My Experience with Jetstar
My Experience with Jetstar – Colombo to Melbourne, 27 August 2026
I recently travelled with Jetstar from Colombo to Melbourne on 27 August, and unfortunately, the overall experience was quite disappointing.
The boarding process was very chaotic, with unusual security checks taking place immediately before boarding the aircraft. This created unnecessary confusion and stress for passengers.
What disappointed me most was the attitude and behaviour of some of the staff. I found several staff members to be extremely unfriendly and, at times, quite rude. There was hardly a smile or any sense of warmth or welcome. Airline staff are often the first and last point of contact for passengers, and their attitude makes a big difference to the travel experience.
This particular route is well known for carrying many older parents travelling to visit their families in Australia. I was especially concerned to see how difficult the arrival process was for some of the elderly passengers. After landing at the Jetstar terminal in Melbourne, passengers were required to use stairs to get down to the bus. Many older passengers were clearly struggling with the stairs, and I believe Jetstar should give much more consideration to the needs of elderly passengers when planning the arrival and transfer process.
Jetstar really needs to look at its customer service and consider employing and training people who genuinely enjoy working with passengers. A friendly smile, patience and a little understanding can make a huge difference, particularly for elderly travellers.
On the positive side, the aircraft itself was a Dreamliner and was in very good condition. The aircraft was comfortable and gave a good impression.
I hope Jetstar takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both its customer service and the boarding and arrival experience, especially for older and less mobile passengers.
Very bad experience
Very bad experience, very disappointing melbourne airport staff specially jetstar manager in melbourne airport. Without any reason she charged us $120. Staff members they have all different views. Im with my little one and manager so rude with us and me and my daughter was crying. Very bad service.

I had a very bad experience with my flight. It was supposed to depart at 11:00, then delayed to 15:00, then 20:00, and finally left at 22:00, arriving after midnight. Because of this, I had to pay extra parking fees and my schedule the next day was disrupted. This was extremely disappointing, and I will never use this airline again.
Flight JQ 291
I flew on flight JQ 291 which left Wellington for Christchurch on 29-08 at 8.50pm. The flight had been delayed by Jetstar. Unfortunately 1 elderly lady omitted to check-in but completed all other boarding procedures. The Jetstar staff were rude, unhelpful, dismissive and showed little empathy towards a very distressed person. It was getting late and there were no later flights for the elderly lady. Clearly the lady had paid for her seat and there were multiple empty seats on the plane. The “service” and attitude of Jetstar staff toward this passenger was disgraceful. Clearly the culture of your organisation is not one of service or customer focus.
