Horrible Customer Service and Communication

Been with Fidelity for a couple decades and their communication has always been horrible. This time they froze my joint account for a long holiday weekend for some unknown issue. Called them and they said my wife has to call three days from now. No access to trading, cash, etc and we received ZERO communication from Fidelity that there was an issue. The supervisor Chelsea said they may have sent something snail mail. Chelsea also refused to open a complaint or escalate the issue on how we have no access to cash for 3 days at the earliest. Totally unacceptable. Have been a loyal customer for decades and this is how they treat customers.

Horrible Experience after years of being a client

After years of being their client, they still screwed me over. Fidelity created unnecessary obstruction in my court‑ordered IRA transfer, causing months of avoidable delay and financial harm.

Despite providing all required and requested documents, Fidelity repeatedly asked for the same paperwork and refused to accept the time‑bound, court‑approved, and legally binding MSA. Their actions prolonged and enabled months of non‑compliance by an unwilling ex/account holder. This directly delayed my access to funds that should have been transferred long ago, costing me investment gains while the other party benefited from continued growth.

Two representatives, Brandy Suchecki at the Cinco Ranch office and Gretchen Hutton, an Online Transition Services Team member contributed significantly to these delays. Brandy issued instructions that complicated the process and then stopped responding. Her guidance limited me to accounting for gains by specifying a dollar amount rather than an account percentage, and she failed to involve the Transition Services team until it was too late. Despite receiving all relevant information upfront, she did not follow due process in an apparent attempt to retain both account holders as clients — a decision that ultimately worked against me.

Gretchen took a full week to respond to her own request for the LOI (from 8/26 to 9/2), despite knowing it had already been submitted months earlier. Her explanation that the previously submitted LOI was “too long” was surprising, as this was never indicated before. Fidelity’s insistence on an LOI — even after the account holder finally signed the transfer form — caused further delays. She eventually drafted the LOI herself, proving this step could have been completed immediately rather than becoming another barrier. The two short paragraphs in the LOI should not have taken a week to produce, especially in a case already suffering months of delays. Fidelity had all the account information and had provided the instructions I followed yet continued asking for information already in their system.

These repeated delays, duplicated requests, and lack of accountability forced me into enforcement litigation and caused financial losses, including missed investment gains and additional attorney fees. Fidelity should be responsible for the harm caused by their obstruction.

A financial institution should facilitate a court‑ordered transfer — not create barriers that prolong non‑compliance.

Fidelity Sucks

Someone must have goten one of our HSA debit card numbers and tried to use it. Fidelity called us to advise us of this, which we appreciate. But over the past week this person or persons are constantly calling Fidelity to try and access our account. This results in a Fidelity rep locking our accounts and preventing us from logging in and having to spend over an hour a day on the phone with them to get it unlocked. We have asked them to stop doing this and they mention that they have noted our account, but it keeps on happening. They need a better way to verify account holders and stop locking their accounts just because someone tried to scam them. Both of us have had to take hours away from our work to sit on hold with them just so they can verify that it is us they are talking to. They have our phone numbers and refuse to call us back. We have to dealk with their AI phone system sending us to the wrong dept. and then sit on hold while they connect us to someone else.

Stealing Money Central

This company is horrible. I have been trying for two weeks to get my money back. Have called about 6 times now. Asked for a manager several times. They leave you on hold. Not one manager has attempted to call me back. Trying to steal about $9000 from me. On the fifth call they told me oh you need to fill out the application. I didn’t fill out an application for you to take my money. I closed an account with Robert Hancock two days after my first call to Fidelity. I got that money last week no problem. Fidelity is stealing. Still no manager has contacted me. Calling the BBB.

I am furious that an app available on…

I am furious that an app available on mainstream web portals managed to spoof real-time blockchain data to rob me. They claimed their proprietary algorithm was exploiting micro-fluctuations in the forex market with zero risk. The smart contract looked so clean on the surface that I locked in fifty thousand dollars of stablecoins. I knew I'd been rugged when I got hit with a fabricated 'network congestion fee' right as I tried to pull my liquidity out. I compiled all the TXID hashes and server logs and handed the entire technical mess over to CARLTONJONES LLC. By utilizing advanced chain-analysis tools, CARLTONJONES LLC forced the centralized exchanges to quarantine the stolen funds. They are the ultimate antidote to crypto and forex fraud; they actually understand the technology.

I ended up

I ended up depositing approximately $75,000 because the branding gave me a level of confidence that I probably wouldn't have had with an unfamiliar investment company. The website looked convincing, the account dashboard appeared professional, and I had no reason at the time to think I was dealing with an impersonation.

It wasn't until I started trying to access my money that things began to fall apart.

The people operating the platform became increasingly difficult to deal with, and I realized that the money I had deposited was not being handled in the way I had expected. I contacted the company directly and repeatedly asked for an explanation and for access to my funds, but I didn't receive a meaningful resolution.

That was when I started questioning whether the company I had dealt with was actually affiliated with the legitimate investment business whose name and reputation had initially given me confidence.

I began collecting everything I had: deposit confirmations, account screenshots, emails, messages, website information, payment records, and details showing how the platform had represented itself.

After my attempts to resolve the situation directly went nowhere, I reported the matter to M oɳtera𝓈𝕖c and provided the documentation I had gathered. Their involvement gave me a structured way to address the dispute and pursue the matter rather than continuing to rely on the same people who had failed to resolve my concerns.

Eventually, following the subsequent process, I was able to regain access to the funds that had been withheld.

The biggest lesson for me was that a familiar name or professional branding isn't enough to establish that an investment platform is genuine. If I could do it again, I would independently verify the exact domain, company registration, regulatory status, contact details, and payment destination before transferring a significant amount of money.

Blocked my account containing…

Blocked my account containing 60,230kUSD for no reason, they kept lying that i violated their policy.I'm glad i checked their policy thoroughly before opening an account with them, mind you the policy i was said to have violated didn't exist when i started trading with them. It's all and elaborate plan to take traders money. I have screenshots to back up my claims, its very unfortunate that this company will do such a thing. The upside to my story is the fact that i survived the storm because of granville gpltd the chargeback agency that looked into their accounts for me and seized my money from them giving it back to me

Accounts closed in error by rep

Spouse tried to open an account, during the process they closed all of my accounts because of an address verification, never notified me, never reached out to me. Why are they closing accounts that have nothing to do with the person trying to open one? The level of incompetence is truly astounding. Don’t worry guys, I get it, you don’t want my business. That’s fine, I’m moving my accounts.

Very disappointing experience

The service did not meet my expectations at all. I had several issues and felt that my concerns were not handled properly. Communication was also frustrating. Overall, I would not recommend it based on my experience.

Very Unhappy Long Time Customer!

I've been a Fidelity customer for several years. In recent years it has become more & more difficult to use. Customer Service less & less helpful. Apps like Active Trader Pro discontinued & replaced by Trader+, which seems infinitely more complicated and difficult to use! Very Unhappy!!!

Long relationship with fidelity is being reduced

Much of my very long experience with Fidelity has been fine. Until recently. It's too complicated to explain my issues, but my 3 experiences concerning annuities over the last few years have been poor. Make sure you talk to a fiduciary, and not them, before buying a new annuity, and require constant updates if you transfer existing annuities to them. There's also an arrogance about them - it's fine if they don't offer transfer incentives for existing high value (but not $5MM+) customers when other companies do, that's their choice. But to imply that they instead offer superior services is laughable, and they need a better script. I will probably maintain a relationship with them, but smaller, because of the complexity of my relationship with them. But much of my portfolio is already moving out. Note that they also randomly rejected a large transfer to another company, which they claimed was a "duplicate" - it wasn't.

I had been under the impression that…

I had been under the impression that Fidelity was one of the better, more established brokerage firms. My recent experience completely changed that view.

I was trying to transfer stocks from another brokerage into Fidelity. The only issue was that the other broker had my middle name spelled out, while Fidelity had my middle initial. Instead of handling what should have been a simple identity verification issue reasonably, Fidelity’s compliance department demanded that I provide a utility bill.

The entire experience felt excessive, rigid, and unnecessarily difficult. There was no practical effort to resolve a very straightforward name-format discrepancy.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that I had the same conversation with Charles Schwab. Schwab handled it without a problem, transferred the shares, and that was the end of it.

That contrast told me everything I needed to know.

I ultimately closed all of my Fidelity accounts. Fidelity is not the Fidelity of the past. In my experience, their compliance process has become unreasonable and their customer service experience was horrible.

If you are considering Fidelity because of the reputation they built decades ago, I would not assume that reputation still reflects the company you will be dealing with today.

When I first opened an account with…

When I first opened an account with this platform, everything seemed straightforward. The registration process was uncomplicated, the interface was easy to navigate, and the information on my account was presented clearly. My initial transactions appeared to be processed normally, and whenever I contacted customer support, I received polite and reasonably prompt responses. Based on that early experience, I felt comfortable continuing to use the service.

My perception changed when I made my first withdrawal request. Instead of receiving a routine confirmation that the payment was being processed, I was told that an additional review of my account was required. This was unexpected because I had already completed the standard verification process when I registered. Nevertheless, I provided the requested information, assuming that it was simply an additional security measure.

After completing the review, I expected the withdrawal to move forward. Instead, I was informed that the request had entered another internal assessment. Several days later, I was told that a processing or administrative charge was required before the transaction could continue. I fulfilled that requirement, but the expected processing period passed without the funds being released.

From that point onward, the process became increasingly difficult to predict. Further messages referred to compliance checks, internal approvals, operational procedures, and additional administrative requirements. Customer support continued to respond professionally, but the answers rarely gave me a definite indication of when the withdrawal would actually be completed. Each time I believed I had satisfied the final requirement, another condition seemed to appear.

After making several attempts to resolve the matter directly, I sought additional assistance while the withdrawal remained pending. The guidance I received from v̲i̲n h𝕦𝕩 helped me organize the relevant documents and communications and keep track of the various requests more systematically. This was particularly useful once my own efforts were no longer producing meaningful progress.

Even then, the process involved further delays. I continued to receive explanations referring to outstanding reviews and internal authorizations that supposedly had to be completed before the funds could be released. Although I responded to the requests and provided the information required, I still did not receive a clear completion date.

**Eventually, the situation was resolved and I was able to recover my funds.** I was relieved to have the matter concluded, although the experience had taken considerably more time and effort than I had anticipated when I first opened the account.

Looking back, the experience taught me not to judge a financial platform solely by its appearance or by how smoothly the initial stages operate. A professional interface and responsive customer service can create a strong first impression, but withdrawal procedures deserve just as much attention. I would recommend carefully reviewing withdrawal conditions, checking any applicable fees and verification requirements, and conducting independent research before committing funds to any financial platform.

Worst Customer Service Ever

I work for an RIA and whenever I run into an issue with Fidelities system I hop on the phone to call customer service. I've only every once reached a member of the team. All other times I get to the 20-40 minute mark and just hangup. How are these knuckleheads still in business

How many people do you have to talk to to get an answer

Fidelity placed a security restriction on my spouse's 401k almost a year ago. It was resolved. He is also a joint owner on my brokerage account that I rarely use. Lately I needed to make a trade and there was the restriction. I called day 1. Talked to 2 people. Over and hour call. Told I would be called back that day or the next. No call. Day 2 spoke to 2 more people. Told that they don't need to talk to me, the restriction would be removed and they would text when it was done. Day 3 still there. Called again. Another hour. Another 2 people. This time they say they need to speak to my husband as the joint owner. We call back when he gets home. Over an hour call, 2 people in, still couldn't get it resolved before they timed out and went home for the day. How many more people/days/hours will it finally take for me to get access the my own account? Lousy LOUSY CS. Different answer everytime I called and still no resolution.

They have no idea what they are doing.

I retired from teaching and went with Fidelity for my drop funds and money I inherited .There was an office near me and I sat down with an advisor and we came up with a plan for my investments. I had a rough year taking care of my sick parents so was not checking my account. When I had my annual meeting I found out my advisor never followed through and my money was just sitting there. They talked into doing a managed account, biggest mistake. They did finally make me some money but when I needed to take some of my inherited funds out I got the run around. Every time I called it ws a different person and a different reason. I finally decided to move all my funds out to another company. It has been 2 weeks now and the new company has only gotten a fraction of my funds but my Fidelity account is missing $400k. No one seems to know what they are doing. I regret ever putting my money with them.
