I was deceived by the sales person!
I was interested in getting a life insurance quote, so I done some searching online and filled in some details for Reassured. I got a call back from a sales person named Jake (Jacob) Hall , a very friendly sounding guy who was well versed in the product. I told him at the very start that all I was looking for was a quote to think about and get back to him on. He found me a competitive quote and proceeded to ask me when I would like the cover to start. I told him the beginning of next month, but then I reminded him that I just wanted the quote and that I didn't want any policy to start as I wanted to talk it over with my wife and decide the next day. He heard me and seemingly understood. A little further into the conversation he asked for my bank details to which I asked why this was necessary as I only wanted a quote (at this point I should of hung up, lesson learned) , he said something along the lines of "Oh its just for banking purposes don't worry". I stupidly gave him my details, he puts me on hold then when he comes back tells me that the policy has gone through and payments will come out at the start of next month! Again, I told him that that is not what I asked for. He kept reassuring me that they have the best offers etc. To cut a long story short I ended the call then called back an hour later asking for a cancellation, he carried on trying to offer me other deals to which I declined. He said that they would cancel it but I had to do it myself as the life insurance company emailed me a couple days later with policy confirmation. I then got a call from a lady at Reassured doing damage control as I had filed a complaint through the life insurance company. She was very pleasant a friendly. She said she can see where both parties are coming from but what bothered me with is that when I told her the part about Jake taking my account details making me think that he wasn't starting a policy, she just said " yeah , he does get excited". She didn't acknowledge that he lied to me (that would of helped, and is the thing tipped me over to write this review) He was purposely deceptive! She was lovely to speak to, but it's on reflection after the call I realised how she dismissed the deceit as Jake "getting excited".
To be fair nobody spoke to me in any rude way , but I feel these people need to do some training on listening skills. I'm know that with a reputable company like this, this is probably not a common experience, but as for me they have put me right off.
