Review of PostNord i Danmark

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Hotline is useless for delivery issues.

Hotline is useless if there is a problem with package deliveries.
I order food items from a German supplier regularly. This has worked for years flawlessly. Same supplier, same name, same address, same PostNord.
However, today PostNord decided that I have an invalid address and that the package will go back to the sender in Germany.
I tried to figure out what went wrong. However, the hotline is utterly useless: they acknowledge that this is a mistake of the delivery person (Quote: "mistakes happen") but insist there is nothing that can be done from PostNord and that the package will go back with all the annoyance, delays, extra costs and efforts that come with this.

Worst of all: I only found out since I clicked on the track&trace link (I was expecting my parcel) at no time did PostNord try to contact me about the issue.

Service works flawlessly and I REALLY appreciate that the mechanic is thinking for her/himself - they fixed the bike better than I had hoped and to perfection. If you get the chance to use their service at your workplace - DO IT!

Review of Danske Bank

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Beware: This bank is involved in a money laundry scandal. This affects you as a customer!

This bank is responsible for one of the biggest financial money laundry scandals in Europe (and possibly world-wide). You should know this, before you bank with them - it affects you as a customer!

If you don't know what this bank has done, Google "Danske Bank money-laundry". The scandal affects you as a customer directly and pretty badly: they will send you through an intrusive, bureaucratic, threatening and unpleasant "scrutiny process" in which you will need to justify individual transactions on your account (e.g. why you bought that guitar on eBay, where you went on vacation, why you traveled, where you work, if that work is full-time etc). They will require all kinds of certifications from your employer. They will insist on personal and individual interrogations, written communication will NOT be sufficient.
In short: think of the worst tax audit you ever had, double the time, effort and pain you went through to resolve that - and you are beginning to understand what Danske Bank is doing to their customers. Worst of all: there is no telling when this nightmare is over. Since US authorities are now in the game, too - who knows if your Danske Bank accounts will be accessible from abroad in future. So next time you travel to the US, bring enough cash to be sure...

EDIT after the reply from Danske Bank:

Dear Tina,
I know that the Danske Bank PR guideline is to never acknowledge, let alone take responsibility for the crimes that Danske Bank committed. A simple "Danske Bank messed up, we are really sorry" would go a long way...

In fact, to your customers a reply like your's is insult to injury: existing customers are of course naked in the eyes of the bank; in our case you can see +15 years of detailed transactions, you know our portfolio, you know where we work, you even financed our real-estate - how dare you say the bank needs to know who we are? In fact, many of the documents you require again have been submitted to Danske Bank years ago.

And to your point that other banks need to do this horrible procedure now, too: Let's be honest - had Danske Bank not messed up to this extent and this magnitude, nobody, not Danske Bank customers nor anybody else would need to do this. Last not least: I tried to get in touch with my advisor on this topic. But he is incapable of getting back to me.

Hi Sebastian
I regret if you have had a bad experience. Generally, we and all other banks must know our customers and understand how they use the bank. Therefore, we contact our customers to update their information. If you would like to talk to us about your experience, you are always welcome to contact us.

Kind regards
Tina

Great sales and service experience

I went and bought a Sensa Cintura belt-drive bike from HelloRider. The pre-sales advice was great, very friendly staff and before I looked, I was on my way. I later had a problem with the gear hub of the bike (Shimano's fault, not the fault of HelloRider) but they got it fixed and all adjusted with no fuzz. I really like the store and would highly recommend.

I love the bike. The delivery was reasonably ok. But communication was not great: there was no indication as to when my bike should arrive. When they took the money from my credit card I was assuming that my bike would come and sure enough it soon showed up. But again: a fantastic bike at a great price! (To be fair: the company apologised proactively for their bad communications). All in all my next bike comes from them again...

Review of Endomondo

Almost perfect!

Endomondo has a great website with a really nice fitness tracker. I like the service, the business model is fair and in using the service for more than 2 years I have had very little complaints. The only (slight) annoyance is that at times the GPS tracking of the route is a bit off giving you insanely fast speeds so you may need to correct some workouts manually afterwards.

Review of SILVAN

International shoppers beware! Taking your stuff!

Watch out international shoppers, this store goes through your personal items and loses/takes them.

I had a really bizarre experience in Silvan: When I left the store the magnetic gate beeped. It turned out that a gift I bought for my wife in a different shop just before entering Silvan still had a security tag attached.
Without asking the Sivan cashier took my bag and went through it all. She even opened a gift box and removed all the items in it. She didn't put things back and returned everything in one big giant messy pile.

When I put everything back together I noticed an item from the bag was missing. I returned to Silvan to ask for my stuff back only to find that the lady who was responsible for the mess was gone. When I asked for help, two other store personnel were unhelpful and rude, told me to go away and said there is nothing they can do. After getting back home, I wrote to Silven via email and asked them for help but never got a reaction.

EDIT after more than a year: I called the number as advised. I had a nice and positive conversation on the phone. I was promised a follow-up and a resolution and never heard of Silvan ever again. I'm definitely not impressed at all.

Good product, great price

Good product, great price. Almost perfect, however the bundled router needs to be restarted frequently and every 3-4 days I need to reset everything to get the connection back up.
