cargo-deny fails on every PR since the advisory DB marked unsafe-libyaml unmaintained (RUSTSEC-2024-0449); it reaches the tree on main via nickel-lang-core -> serde_yaml 0.9. One-line ignore beside the other nickel entries; drop it when nickel moves off serde_yaml. Seen first on #2193.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Chores
    • Updated security advisory tracking for an issue associated with the project’s YAML dependency chain. The advisory is now excluded from reporting because the affected package is used indirectly and is not directly used by the application. This update affects advisory reporting only; it does not change application behavior or add user-facing features.

🔒 Security & Privacy | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Scope the ignore to the documented dependency path.

This bare advisory ID suppresses RUSTSEC-2024-0449 for every dependency path. If another package later depends directly on unsafe-libyaml, cargo-deny will not flag it, although the comment documents only the serde_yaml 0.9 path. Use cargo-deny’s allow field to limit the exception to serde_yaml@0.9; the field supports package-scoped advisory ignores. (embarkstudios.github.io)

…-core's serde_yaml)

cargo-deny now fails on every PR: unsafe-libyaml 0.2.11 is marked unmaintained
(RUSTSEC-2024-0449) and reaches the tree through nickel-lang-core -> serde_yaml 0.9
(itself deprecated). Nothing in this workspace uses it directly; the ignore sits beside
the other nickel-pinned entries and goes when nickel moves off serde_yaml.
