Description

Before: how often the stream's followers look for new activities and how long the event log is kept had defaults (5 seconds, 30 days) but could only be changed outside the web app.

After: Settings → Automations (in the System group, and found by Find and ⌘K) edits both: "Look for new activities every (seconds)", 1–3600, and "Keep logged activities (days)", 1–3650. The API (PUT /api/v1/settings/events) and the admin assistant's read_settings/change_settings reach the same section, and refuse anything that isn't a whole number in range.

How: an events section in settings.EDITABLE with its own check, events added to the assistant's settings sections, and a frontend section automations over the backend section events. Last part of workflow studio module M1.

Motivation and Context

Workflow studio plan (/mnt/project-files/workflow-studio/plan.md, section 2 defaults and M1); differences from the plan are in /mnt/project-files/workflow-studio/m1-notes.md.

  • Reported; refine later stays in docs/automations.md.
  • Reuse: the Settings section, field and Find machinery as they are.

Settings → Automations (under System) edits events.poll_seconds, how often
followers look for new activities when nothing wakes them, and
events.keep_days, how long the event log is kept. The API checks both as
whole numbers in range.

The stream of activities (#425 to #428) merged: agents read it through
the API, MCP's timeline tool and the assistant. Say so under Automate it,
with automations that act on it labelled in progress, add the open
Settings section (#429) to In progress, and link the automations page
from the docs index.
