The demonstration highlighted how rapidly evolving autonomous technologies can enhance mission capabilities and enable greater flexibility for armed forces in complex operational environments. The deployment of the S-300 demonstrated how a modern uncrewed VTOL platform can be combined with advanced sensors, autonomy and mission systems to deliver capability across land and maritime environments. In today’s complex operational environments, access to timely and relevant information is essential to support situational awareness and decision-making. This is particularly true in the maritime domain, where gathering information while limiting the exposure of operational teams can be critical. At #REPMUS26 in Portugal this month, our teams had the opportunity to explore how unmanned systems and intelligence capabilities can contribute to this challenge. As part of this major multinational exercise focused on the experimentation and operational integration of unmanned and autonomous systems, Thales demonstrated its ability to detect and analyse signals from cellular networks in the operational environment. This was achieved by integrating #VORTEX, a compact and modular tactical intelligence solution, onto a BVQ418 drone from our partner Beyond Vision, operated by the Portuguese Navy. ⏩ By bringing sensing capabilities closer to areas that may be difficult to access, it helps provide actionable information to support situational awareness and decision-making. Its flexibility also allows it to be integrated onto different unmanned platforms, depending on mission requirements. 👉 Beyond the technology itself, this demonstration was an opportunity to work alongside the Portuguese Navy and our partners, and to explore how complementary capabilities can come together to address operational needs. It also highlighted the potential of combining intelligence capabilities with unmanned platforms to extend operational reach and bring information closer to where it is needed. A valuable experience for our teams, and an important step in exploring future opportunities for collaboration.
