Incredible experience!
Like many teens, my son did not know what he wanted to do. This program allowed him to learn about real careers and do the work, including setting schedules and deadlines. After a year, he has clarity around what he enjoys most - and what he definitely does not!

Evaluating the 2 hour live online event -- hard sell
I have not enrolled my teen in the starter school, so here I'm only reviewing my impressions and sharing some of my concerns based on the live zoom webinar.
I registered for and viewed the webinar: How To Future-Proof Your Teenager's Education In The Face of New A.I. Advancements. I appreciated one of Diveej Shrestha's observations: Teens who use AI can achieve more in their online entrepreneurial activities than they can without AI, so they experience rewards faster and are thus motivated to keep learning. Shrestha displayed a graph of a positive feedback loop which made sense.
I agree: Using AI scaffolds the learning process, removing early learning difficulties, so that early stages are more fun. Or one can say, using AI makes the learning curve less steep. AI can jump-start learning since it remove the drudgery associaed with many entry-level tasks.
So if the products that are being sold in Starter School are going to help your teenagers get excited about learning new things, then it seems a good thing for your teenager. I would like to hear from other parents who have used the different modules what their opinions are.
Here are some of my concerns based on the webinar and why I didn't enroll my 2 teenagers.
Diveej Shrestha used all of the classic hard-sell strategies. Time pressure, reading off the names of all the people who are getting their credit cards out and enrolling; fear of missing out, guilt that you aren't giving your children every opportunity; the regret you'll feel when your children have to delay starting a family because you didn't provide them with tools to get ahead in their careers in their teens and 20s.
It seems that the message is focused on finding ways to help your teenagers be financially successful. I don't want my own teens to get exposed to the message that one must find ways to make money, to be ahead of the curve, to be part of the innovator class. I'm personally wary of that message. I'd rather encourage my teens to learn how to be a good friend to others and work for a world with a more equitable wealth distribution.
On the other hand, as I already said, giving teens the tools to be innovative and pursue their own interests is also valuable. Since it sounds like the AI tools being advertised can do that, this may be a program some parents want to consider.
As someone who has watched the live webinar, here's what I recommend to parents to do if you're considering Starter School. Sign up for ewebinars, not the live show. You can easily find this with google. Once you're on this pre-recorded seminar, you won't be able to pause it, but I recommend you videotape it yourself. Later, that will save you a couple hours of sitting in front of the screen watching the webinar. Later, you can watch the recording and fast-forward through parts to understand it more easily. Plus, you won't be psychologically susceptible to that pressure to purchase.
So the skeptic in me was saying, does Shrestha's company need to do that hard sell because otherwise he couldn't stay in business? And to get his learnign modules out to learners, he has to stay in business. And the only way to be solvent is to play that very difficult game. To learn more about this, I consulted google, more specifically, google AI mode. I queried:
Regarding the Starter School that is run by Diveej Shrestha, how remunerative is that company? That is, what can you find about how much money that company is making? The reason I'm asking is that I'm concerned that Diveej Shrestha the very hard sell during his webinars. This is a lot of very sophisticated selling techniques, and I'm wondering if he needs to do it because otherwise his company wouldn't survive. Below is the answer. Respond with any of your observations or opinion.
Your concern that he needs to use sophisticated, aggressive selling techniques for the company to survive is spot-on. It isn't necessarily a sign that the company is "failing," but rather that the business model itself requires non-stop, high-pressure conversion to stay alive. Here is why:
Astronomic Customer Acquisition Costs (CAC): Online education businesses rely heavily on paid social media ads (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). Running ads to cold audiences is incredibly expensive. If Diveej does not close sales immediately on the webinar, the money spent to get people onto the webinar is permanently lost.
The "One-Time" Buying Cycle: Unlike standard schools that get 4 to 12 years of predictable tuition from a student, online cohorts and boot camps have very high "churn." Parents buy it once for their teenager, the teenager finishes, and they leave. Because they don't have predictable, lifetime recurring revenue from a single family, the business must constantly hunt for and aggressively close new buyers every single week.
My son’s One on One lit a spark in him
My son had a one on one with Dijeev where they discussed his goals and dreams, I’m not sure what it was about the conversation but the conversation lit a spark in my son that both parents have been trying to ignite. I’m grateful for that. He’s now excited about going through the material, which he definitely wasn’t before. Thanks starterschool team, keep doing what you’re doing.

Great investment
This was the best investment in the longest time. I took the teen course as a parent and absolutely loved it. I started using the concepts in my side businesses. I love it that I can go back and look over the steps and tools I did not remember. What a great program!
Minor inconveniences, but resolved quickly.

From student, to blue collar entrepreneur!
When I started Starter School I had no idea how much it would help me out in the future. I did, AI in business, Website design, automation, stock portfolios, and house in retail and renting among others. I took these skills and applied them to create my own entrepreneurial blue collar business (FreshStone Pressure Washing LLC). With a fully functioning website, AI assistance and automation, submission forms, company polos, business cards,, google business account, door hangers, yard signs, and more! One of the biggest things that applied from what I learned at Starter School. Was critical thinking and problem solving, I honestly can't tell you how many times in this business I would run into a technical problem for the website, or java/python code, even google business gave me a hard time LOL. But through it all I persisted and came through the other side TRIUMPHANT! By getting consistent jobs and new Clients!
Thx again to the Diveej, Jason, and the Starter School team! God Bless.
- Sincerely, Ethan Yatskis
Ai learning is essential for students!
Starter School for me was a little suprising for a parent. Not only was my daughter VERY motivated to learn a very different skillset learning Ai, she is even more motivated as she progresses through the modules.
Each module is set up to engage and assist the student ( and parent) learn the skills that will be essential when they enter the workforce or become an entrepreneur.
Big thanks to Starter School for putting this education together!
The customer service team responds to…
Customer service responded to emails quickly, which I appreciated. The refund process was satisfactory and I did receive my refund.
The program itself will likely help many teens, but my child had already taken the program before, so we needed to request a refund.
Overall, communication was good and I wish the company continued success expanding its programs.”
Our family loves Starter School
Our family loves Starter School. After hearing a pitch from an add on a social media platform, I signed up for the masterclass. While hearing the creator’s presentation, I was sold. I knew our son would love it. It’s been almost a year and our son has learned a countless amount of skills. He’s built a website, learned multiple app platforms, and become familiar with tech in a way that will cultivate our future. He’s so excited to receive a payout after completing a challenge and he’s received a raise or two. Our family loves this program.
Starter school for my son with Autism.
My teen with autism has been doing Starter School for a few months and has finished a few challenges. The challenges have been fun, engaging and one step ahead for my son. He absolutely loves the payouts at the end of every challenge and it keeps him on track and focused. The team is very helpful and supportive when my son feels lost and he knows he can go to the virtual office and get help. Sometimes he just likes walking around the virtual office to find people to hang out with. Overall a very fun and new age learning environment.
Great experience!
My daughter enjoyed the projects and learned many relevant real world skills. It's great that the platform rewards them for keeping to the schedule they committed to and delivering high quality work by increasing their pay. There are lots of projects to choose from.
We absolutely LOVE starter school!!!!
We absolutely LOVE starter school!!!!! They truly thought of it all when it comes to how to get high schoolers in love with learning so many new skills while getting paid! My boys always ask me how they can get a job so this is a definite a win win for me as a parent. I appreciate how this gives them a creative easy to follow platform to self motivate them at their own pace and ambition to engage in so many cool real life experiences and learn challenges that give them a taste of so many different industries while setting it up for financial reward based on their work and effort, while competing with others for raises in a deadline driven environment. All the real world elements were incorporated into these challenges. Diveej is a great teacher and makes it very fun!! My boys love the virtual office with help desk - they love video games and this draws them in even more. To get kids ready for the real world exploring career paths is critical to inspire and discover what they really like and do not like which is lacking in today’s education system or hard for high schoolers to get access too. Thank you Diveej and the staff at starter school for creating such an innovative and much needed solution to the disconnect in education that I feel is crucial to help kids flourish and discover their passions and learning skills they will use! Most importantly doing it in such a fun way and becoming very technologically savvy!!! They have fun while learning and getting paid. That is always the goal for their future job so we are extremely happy and pleased to have found Starter school. We have been so inspired and it has taken a ripple effect on their curiously to explore further into the tech industry for my older son, younger one is still exploring. It’s great to see and I’m so grateful for igniting that in him. Also the staff is all amazing and friendly and know how to explain things so well! Recommend it highly!!
Smooth onboarding and great real world skill building.
The whole process was quite seamless. The team was very helpful thoughout. When there was a hitch they clarified and helped resolve the issue quite promptly. The focus areas covered are real world and very useful.
Learn more than "just tech"
My 8th grader daughter worked in the Starter School co-op last summer, and our experience has been absolutely fabulous.
She learnt not just tech skills, but even concepts that can be applied to general life skills.
The incentive to get paid to complete projects, works great with kids.
I highly recommend Starter School!
Amazing online co-op program for teens
I cannot say enough good things about Stater School. My kids were fully engaged from day one — something that is not easy to achieve with online learning. The projects were challenging but so much fun — they felt like real-world work and kept my kids completely engaged.
What impressed me most was how much my kids looked forward to their projects each day. They were excited to share what they learned, sought guidance and collaborated with their supervisors when issues came up, and completed their projects on their own without needing reminders. It’s rare to find a program that’s both educational and genuinely enjoyable for teens.
They have already been asking me to renew our subscription — which says it all! Highly recommend this program to any parent looking for a meaningful, engaging, and innovative online learning experience that prepares kids for the real world.
Love this program
My daughter really enjoyed doing Starter School. She said that Starter school helped her learn about apps, software's, architecture and little coding that she wouldn't be exposed to, normally through school. She gets to choose the topic/projects that interests her. As a added bonus, she also earned money for completing the projects. Their customer support was always helpful, got us answers and helped us with any troubles right away. This is a wonderful program for kids who would like to learn about real-world knowledge and earn some.
Cure for teen boredom
My 14 yr old son was very bored and not ready for a job. He liked starter school because it was fast paced, and he wasn't bored. As a mom, I don't know a lot about what he learned. I do know that the support staff was friendly and helpful when I had questions. My son said one thing he learned that was helpful was how to make AI work in his favor.
Give your teen a head start toward the future
Starter School presents exclusive opportunities for kids to explore and prepare for their future that are not readily available elsewhere. Everything my son has participated in has been top notch, and his experience with having Diveej as a mentor is truly a blessing.
Starter School great work experience for teens…
Starter School is great way for teens to receive hands-on-experience. My son enjoyed the fact that he could pick his own virtual office, clock in, and receive direct deposit to his bank.
I liked the ease of signing him up for the program.
Great program and would sign up all my children if they were a teen again.
