Worst company I've ever done business with. All services (phone, tv, internet) go out every single day. My dad had better coverage when he went to ANTARCTICA - no joke. This company is 100% incompetent and so damn greedy. $350 a month for services that barely work and employees that are just a skooch smarter than your average circus carny. It must be nice to get rich from a bs company like this that has an absolute shite product and even worse employees. I’m switching to a different company after probably over 30 years dealing with this incompetence.

Optimum has NO customer service! They have "agents" in a foreign country (it is very difficult to get an actual human being on the phone). The "agent" can listen to you, but is "not authorized" to actually DO anything except "file a report," which apparently must go directly into a trash bin for all the good my 8 "reports" have done. Optimum owners plainly do not want deal with their customers at all.
There are errors in my bill, errors in my account, and the website prevents me from paying my bill on line. This has been going on for eight (8) MONTHS and there is NO way to speak with ANYONE who can actually DO anything. I'm so fed up with it that I'm making other arrangements for my Phone, TV, and Internet - it just isn't worth the aggravation anymore. Optimum is, without question the WORST service I have ever had.
Optimum has effectively built an IMPENETRABLE FIREWALL between themselves and their customers. There is NO WAY to contact ANYONE who can actually DO anything to HELP a customer with an Optimum failure or problem they have caused you. I feel sorry for the poor agents. It is not the agents' fault; they have been given a job that I guess is just to sit there and take abuse because their employers (Optimum) won't let them actually DO anything to help the customers.
There is room on this form to put the date of the experiece, but not room for 10 similar repeated instances.
At this point, I'm actually considering reporting them to the FTC or FCC - I have to find out the appropriate agency (if Trump hasn't dismantled them all yet).

Horrible, The Nanuet store location is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional or extremely poor service. The store is currently running without any supervision for of the staff members stated that there is no supervising as the manager is on vacation, The have no Idea what they are doing and four of the staff stated they are only their 1st or 2nd day. They claim they do not even know the names of the other poorly trained staff. FIND ANOTHER WAY FOR CABLE, THEY ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES. THEY ARE HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE. CANCEL YOUR SERVICE. Called corporate to make a complaint........silence, no return calls, why!!! because nothing will be done, nothing at all!!!!!!!!!

Altice (previously known as Suddenlink and Optimum) is the only game in town for internet in our area of Flagstaff, Arizona if you want speeds of "up to" 1G. The caveat "Up to" term used by data carriers actually means you'll get their advertised speeds only if you live within 100 yards of the source of the signal or 'Head End'. As your mileage from the Head End increases, your speed drops. We live roughly three miles away and our speed is consistently 700 to 800 Mbs. The only thing we're happy with regarding Altice service is the internet speed. Literally everything else about the company is an absolute dumpster fire of inept customer service. If you are unfortunate enough to have a service issue with them, steel yourself for the worst. Calling into their Customer Service number, cues you up into a literal hours long wait (yes, I've actually waited on hold with them for over an hour), listening to a recording that tells you your wait time is just "two minutes." Dropping off the line and calling back, sometimes results, inexplicably, in a shorter wait period, also trying another of their many other Customer Service numbers or using 'Chat' may work, but don't rely on it. When you finally land a representative, a very short conversation (in difficult to understand, east Indian accent) takes place regarding your problem, then they launch themselves into a series of attempts to up sell you additional services e.g., cell service and service protections plans. This, before they've done any actual work on your problem. You literally have to tell them to stop talking and move forward with fixing your issue. If your problem is e.g., a non-working component of your total service, you will be expected to assist them in resolving it. This is assumed by them and at no time do they ask if you are capable of assisting them. Expect to be told to access their equipment, power it down, power it up, push reset buttons, unscrew and reconnect cables, describe wiring and then do it all over again as many times as they demand. Why Altice thinks they can expect a customer to 'work' for them is beyond the pale. We are paying them a healthy amount every month for their product, yet they expect us to help them repair it. This is a stunningly inappropriate and invasive business model for which they arbitrarily expect you to cooperate. My most recent service issue with them was the loss of my telephone 'landline' service which is provided over their cable. I spent the greater part of an hour unplugging and reconnecting equipment for them, dragging phones around my house, resetting their modem, answering questions about which lights were on and which were off, crawling around on the floor under furniture etc., and at 79 years old, it's not easy -and I've had it. In the future, if I have to call Altice for any type of outage, I'm going tell them up front, before they try selling me anything, that I'm in a wheel chair, cannot do any work for them, and they need to send a technician out to fix the problem.

I have about 6 hours of phone time logged with the customer service team and 4 hours with the I T department. All for a system that was working just fine , but they disconnected it for an unforeseen reason and now I have to set it ALL up AGAIN....... did I mention that I work from home and every hour I am off line is $

Third area outage of the month, approx 60 hours offline. Agent, Ishwar disconnected my call when I asked for bill to be prorated to reflect downtime. Called back twice and my call was disconnected before answered. I worked for the company that was taken over by Optimum, Suddenlink, and started in tech support. When you are routed a call, most of the time you are able to see the number that is calling before you choose to answer. Surely no small coincidence that I was unable to report Ishwar to his supervisor for being the piece of shoot that he has chosen to be.

Like many others we converted our landline to a mobile phone because it was cheaper than cancelling the land line. Within 3 weeks, my optimum email was hacked and the only credit card attached to that phone was stolen and thousands of dollars in charges made on my card. On top of that the thief had the mobile phone transferred to their name and optimum charged me for the phone. When I contacted them to find out his the phone was ported they said that it was my responsibility to watch for my phone not theirs. Very time I called it was a call center from another country and they would hang up once I requested a supervisor. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!

I cannot express how unhappy I am with this service. My mother has used Optimum for several years, and it has been consistently spotty and unreliable. She lives rurally and hence didn't have a lot of option. The interoductory offer price was now tripple what the "promo" pricing was. Reciently a new company has come into the area and offered much more reliable service for considerably cheaper. So after a bad experience with customer support trying to negotiate rates, my mom decided to switch. When she made the call to cancle service she was told they couldn't do it right then, and then given a very agressive sales pitch. No mater how many times she told them she just wanted to cancle, nothing else, they kept pushing and badgering to the point that my 73 year old mother was in tears. The call ended with no resolution.
Later in the day, my sister and I called the company three times. The first time we were transfered to an inactive line. The second time we were told we were calling the "wrong side" of the "Retention" department and were transfered to a line that eventually hung up on us. The final time we spoke to three different people who all tried to sell a new plan and when we were very clear that we only wanted to cancle, we were placed on holds ranging from 5 minutes to 25 minutes. After being on hold for 25 minutes, we finally reached the third person who again ignored what we said and tried to sales pitch us. After very clearly stating that literally no offer they could make would retain us as customers at this point, he finally 'began processing the cancelation' and kept telling us we had to be patient because these things take time.
The total time for the third call was just under an hour. I cannot properly state how revolted I am by a company whose sales tactics are designed to take advantage of people who are polite and kind, and those who are vulnerable.
I strongly advise anyone looking for an internet service provider so skip the headache and not support a company whose primary means of customer retention is to make it so difficult to cancle that some populations will find it impossible to do alone. Unacceptable.

I switched a couple of years ago from Verizon FiOS to Optimum. I noticed that many times when watching a movie that this streaming was buffering. I could live with thAt. But recently we had a storm and our Internet service was down for six days, whereas our neighbors with Verizon FiOS had NO outage. So I switched back to Verizon.
Cancelling Optimum was an ordeal.
It took 15 minutes and the agent Has to offer me all kind of options to avoid cancellation.

Unprofessional. Would not listen to customer about needing to cancel service. The agent would interrupt the customer when explaining the reason for cancellation. Customer was unable to complete a sentence without the agent constantly trying to offer better rates.
Horrible customer service. Would not recommend using Optimum Internet.

A few days ago, I received emails I believed came from Optimum. These emails included my name, address, account number, and billing information. I just learned today these emails were NOT from Optimum. While spoof/fishing emails are pretty normal, these ones contain personal information that indicate Optimum's database was hacked. This data breach has NOT been notified by Optimum, perhaps in hopes it will never come to light. The most upsetting thing here is that they never alerted us about it, so I am pretty certain some customers have followed links from those emails and given away the payment methods. I already reported this to the Attorney General's office, but please beware: this company is shady AF and cannot be trusted.

Optimum salesforce is absolutely dishonest. They tricked me into signing up for some services, which they promised would lower my bill. Yet I got charged for even more after I fell into their trap. I have returned the devices to them on May 19, 2026 and had made it very clear I wanted to cancel the account before that. Yet I still got billed by them in July 2026. I have called them to cancel my account 3 times since then. Frustratingly, my account was still open. Unbelievable! Why would I need their Mobile Service after I returned to them their phones? Please, don't deal with Optimum.
See the reply from Optimum down below? That Deb asked me to email her the isssue. After going through all the troubles, her RESOLUTION was that I need to CONTACT THE RETENTION TEAM. As I made it very clear to her beforehand, I have contacted them 5 times. As you can see, her HELP is no HELP. So, please ignore Optimum's response here. Don't get fooled by Optimum .

Absolute worst mobile phone and Internet service company I’ve ever dealt with in my life. Got home Internet, basic service and transferred to cell lines to them after pouring the first number all the problems started to become evident, and I immediately canceled my service. The first bill given me within one week of setting up service was $47 and I never even connected to cell service. This company is a scam and it feels like outdoor Indian market, the way they do business. Dont use Optimum if you have ANY other choice.

My issue is with OPTIMUM MOBILE, not the internet side of the company.
The salespeople do not disclose the charges you will incur by changing service. I was offered a bundle (phone & internet). On the surface, it's a great deal that would have saved me lots of money over time. My internet speed would increase, and the phone service would be less than what I currently pay.
Sounds good, right?
I have been charged $99.87 so far, and the phone isn't even activated. None of the charges were mentioned when I ordered the service. I was also told my new phone would be free but later on was told it would be financed for the next 3 years.
The phone was sent to the wrong address on June 8th, and I came very close to calling the police due to the phone being missing and someone forging my signature. On June 10th, I finally found the phone and it was at the manager's office where I live. She had the package marked return to sender. (another review coming)
Optimum Mobile created a bank draft from my account, which I expressly stated I don't allow. I was told that I don't have a choice. You always have a choice.
Contracts have been emailed to me, but I have not signed or noted items that I don't agree to. Two or more people need to agree to a contract for it to be valid. You also have the right to disagree with parts of the contract, and the company should negotiate with you until both parties can agree.
With all the issues that I have stated so far, I decided it was not in my best interest to do business with OPTIMUM MOBILE. The phone had not been used, and I had not completed porting my phone number.
On June 10th, I attempted to cancel the mobile service. After being on a call with multiple departments, wasting 2.5 hours of my time, nothing was done.
On June 11th, I went to the local OPTIMUM MOBILE store for help. They were not able to cancel the phone due to me speaking to someone over the phone. What they did do for me was to be a witness to another 2 hour call where I was denied cancellation by 2 separate agents.
The first agent went on and on with ridiculous questions that lasted for another 1.5 hours. The skill here was to drag the conversation out until I gave up. He went as far as bribing me with 4 months of free service. Again, I said no and asked to cancel and refund me fully. I didn't trust any offer he made.
Instead of fixing the issue and canceling the service, I was told a different department had to get involved. I was cold transferred to another agent who started in with the same questions. The sales clerk interjected herself and spoke directly with this new agent. She explained we had already gone over everything and to cancel my service. At this point, we are 45 minutes into this part of the call and my patience had been tested enough, especially when this young lady stated she would not cancel. At this time, I requested the call be escalated to her manager. I was told no, that she was not going to escalate and wanted to know what was so wrong with her that I would go to her manager. At this point, I was done and hung up the phone before I blew a gasket.
The next morning, June 12th, I contacted the corporate office of OPTIMUM MOBILE about the situation and how it was not handled. I was escalated to a Tier II specialist named Cynthia that ended up another dead end. She closed the case without resolving anything.
I am also filing a complaint with the FCC as these heavy arm sales tactics (lies and failing to disclose) are unacceptable. The reason companies get away with treating people badly is that we do not stand up for ourselves. It is too easy to say to heck with it and walk away.
OPTIMUM MOBILE has my money and their phone. Today is July 15th. My service is not cancelled. They sent me a bill for $56.47 which I refuse to pay, so they are now harassing me daily for payment. They can no longer charge my account as I had them blocked.
I do not recommend this phone service to anyone. Their Internet service is a separate division and I have no issues with their service.

Optimum is the absolute worst in customer relations. Half of their staff do not understand English and are just downright dumb! Every time we call Optimum, it is 30 minutes until a representative is available after navigating through ridiculous, repetitive scenarios. We recently had a problem with our cable box. After trouble shooting it was deemed broken by an Oprimum rep. My husband took the broken box back and got a crappy refurbished one, which also didn’t work. After several long phone conversations and troubleshooting, it was deemed broken by Optimum. They sent us another refurbished cable box which finally worked. Meanwhile we had been told to call back to get a credit for the month we were without cable. Another 45 minute conversation with an Optimum rep proved unfruitful. Optimum refused to credit us for our down time! This is truly the worst customer relations company EVER!! Shame on you Optimum.

Do not refer anyone to this company no matter how much they tell you you’ll get for referral reward. You’ll never receive it. I’ve been dealing with these idiots for 3 months now. First they’ll tell you it’ll appear on your next billing cycle then they’ll tell you you’ll receive an email for a $50 gift cards. So frustrating now days. Have to call numerous times. People are lazy, majority of them don’t know what they’re doing and so on and so on.

I requested upgrade to DVR, spoke to 2 people who said I already had DVR capabilities which I don't. I spoke to tech at optimum who said someone should have told me I needed a real DVR and remote and to pick up at nearest optimum store, 50 miles away. I did it still didn't work so I called optimum again. They assured me it would work. They called my husband back and told him we were given the wrong box and he would mail the correct DVR to me in 2-3 days. Day 8, it hasn't come. I called optimum again, they said there was no order for a DVR! We still don't have television or DVR!
